Quite coincidentally I too have been in negotiations today regarding the pubs licence and it's good news here as well, a deal has been agreed!!

There were no amendments or legal objections put forward so a shiny new licence has been issued and normal service can be resumed Smile

Same rules apply.

Now let's hope Saturday's proceedings can go ahead without the usual dicking around and that what has been nigh on impossible during the last 3 years, a majority, can be achieved otherwise I feel we are off to hell in a handcart!

First drink is on the house 🍻🍷🍻🍷Cheers

Anybody who voted to leave who thinks this deal is a good deal should listen to the speech Nigel is making right now.

Limitedsimba123 · 18/10/2019 20:28

This WA is likely imo to end in no deal anyway, so I don’t see how it would be blamed on remainers? @DustyDiamond and @Walkingdeadfangirl, seeing as you seem happy with the WA, are you not concerned about the contents of the Twitter thread I posted?

time4chocolate · 18/10/2019 20:30

....and remainers force a no deal Brexit because the EU refuses another delay...

Dusty, we cant ask for a short technical extension because the surrender Bill means it has to be a minimum of 3 months.

YY

He has to ask for 3 months
EU don't have to give anything at all if they don't want to.
They could offer a short one for legislation to pass.

Ideally, the Letwin amendment fails (or he withdraws it) & the other amendments fail too & the deal passes tomorrow

Parker231 · 18/10/2019 20:32

It’s such a crap deal and everyone should be exploring every clause before they vote to lower your standards of living, financial security and opportunities for the future.

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 20:32

DustyDiamond, seeing as you seem happy with the WA, are you not concerned about the contents of the Twitter thread I posted?

No

Limitedsimba123 · 18/10/2019 20:33

Why?

Parker231 · 18/10/2019 20:33

Why on earth not. Read it properly.

frumpety · 18/10/2019 20:35

So its the rubbish WA and another 3 years in the EU as the preferred option then DustyDiamond and Fangirl ?

Parker231 · 18/10/2019 20:37

It’s worse that the deal May secured.

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 20:38

before they vote to lower your standards of living, financial security and opportunities for the future.

They're not voting to do anything of the sort 🙄

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 20:38

Why on earth not. Read it properly.

🙄

I did.

And I answered: no

BunchMunch · 18/10/2019 20:39

Well, I'll be watching with interest tomorrow.
Sincerely hope the deal passes, as probably most people irl do.

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 20:40

So its the rubbish WA and another 3 years in the EU as the preferred option then DustyDiamond and Fangirl ?

🙄

It's leaving the EU & moving forwards to the future

I'll take that over staying in in perpetuity, absolutely

Limitedsimba123 · 18/10/2019 20:42

Can you elaborate on why you’re not concerned though? Maybe I don’t understand it like you do as to me it sounds very worrying.

FadingStar · 18/10/2019 20:43

Fangirl I would stop now...

Parker231 · 18/10/2019 20:43

Boris’s deal is putting food safety at risk, cutting environmental standards and workers' rights, and that’s just for starters

Limitedsimba123 · 18/10/2019 20:47

Just re-read and that comes across as patronising. It isn’t meant to, I’m genuinely interested in what leavers have to say and would like to feel a bit less worried myself by reading some reasoned comments from both sides.

howabout · 18/10/2019 20:51

Commentariat seem to be baking in Letwin passing but I don't think that follows.

10 DUP will vote against as will 287 Tories. Kate Hoey will vote against as will Frank Field. Can't see the other non-ex Tory pro Dealer Independents voting to prolong the agony - Boles excepted. The Labour No No Dealers are mostly anti - 2nd Ref as well. This means backing Letwin won't have much cover for ex Tories so they would really be turning their back on the Party just before a GE - so probably lots of them won't back (?).

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/10/2019 20:55

Boris’s deal is putting food safety at risk, cutting environmental standards and workers' rights, and that’s just for starters

What nonsense. Food safety, standards and rights will be dealt with by MPs in Parliament who are elected by the people of the UK.

If we want certain rights we just have to vote for them.

Sunnyuplands · 18/10/2019 20:56

Oh gosh that phrase...

'I'm genuinely interested in what leavers think'

Dear god

BertrandRussell · 18/10/2019 20:57

“If we want certain rights we just have to vote for them.”

Right. And how do I vote to ensure that, for example, the terms of the Working Time Directive are
Maintained?

howabout · 18/10/2019 21:00

I know Sunny - I think "genuinely" is about to have an alternative meaning added to its OED entry.

chin chin Gin

FadingStar · 18/10/2019 21:02

Sunny, I would stop now too, if I were you.

frumpety · 18/10/2019 21:02

Oh I didn't realise you were a MP Fangirl , lucky you being able to vote on stuff , the rest of us mere mortals only get to do once every few years ( if we believe everything they write in their manifestos) , and having the power over the rest of the MP's to make them also vote for the same thing. No chance of Boris pulling a fast one with you on the benches eh ?
