Quite coincidentally I too have been in negotiations today regarding the pubs licence and it's good news here as well, a deal has been agreed!!

There were no amendments or legal objections put forward so a shiny new licence has been issued and normal service can be resumed Smile

Same rules apply.

Now let's hope Saturday's proceedings can go ahead without the usual dicking around and that what has been nigh on impossible during the last 3 years, a majority, can be achieved otherwise I feel we are off to hell in a handcart!

First drink is on the house 🍻🍷🍻🍷Cheers

It really is so much worse than Mays deal for the average person in the UK then ? Not in the least bit surprising though, especially the tax avoidance bits being removed, gosh didn't see that coming a mile off

Limitedsimba123 · 18/10/2019 19:28

Are any of the leavers on here low income, and if so are you not worried about this? I got one don’t believe that this government will stand by a legally meaningless declaration to uphold employment rights etc, especially if de-regulation would be profitable for them

ContinuityError · 18/10/2019 19:31

Who is this Letwin person?
I can’t believe I’m living in a country that has so many tossers in it.

He’s the guy who voted every time for TM’s WA. He’s said he will vote for this WA.

What he does want, though, is to prevent Parliament voting for the WA and then the No Dealers fuck around and vote down the implementation bill and the UK falls out on its arse on 31/10 as a result.

It’s almost like even Tory MPs don’t trust the Government.

FadingStar · 18/10/2019 19:31

I actually supported Corbyn at the start...feel so ashamed about that now. He is indescribably awful.

Parker231 · 18/10/2019 19:36

Letwin has my vote!

Sunnyuplands · 18/10/2019 19:39

Can someone describe what let wins done

bellinisurge · 18/10/2019 19:42

This Letwin person is almost as much of an old school Tory as Nicholas Soames - actual Churchill's actual grandson. That Johnson turfed out because they wouldn't join the cult.

Sunnyuplands · 18/10/2019 19:47
Confused

Who cares what soames legacy is?
Lots of people hate wc. Many flaws but he had what we needed to get us through the war but who cares about his grandson?
This is politics not the Royal family.

bellinisurge · 18/10/2019 19:53

My point is that the Tory heartland has more loyalty to that type than to wannabes like Johnson. Just as he is dropping them, they will drop him in favour of people like Letwin and Soames first chance they get.

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 19:54

Tabled an amendment which takes out everything past 'deal' and enters alternative text.
(In attached pic, everything in red is removed & replaced with the text in green)

Basically, it changes it so that it's no longer a yes/no vote but rather 'indicating approval but withholding consent until & unless extension is applied for & granted'

So, opposition MPs who were prepared to break cover & vote for the deal are now retreating as the can will be kicked further down the road.

Why risk losing the Labour whip for eg if it's all for nothing?

Brexit Arms pop up pops up again!
notangelinajolie · 18/10/2019 19:59

Boris's deal really is rubbish - he's sold us down the river. I really, really hope this doesn't pass.

Sunnyuplands · 18/10/2019 20:00

My brain is addled can someone explain in more simple terms for a poor thick leaver.

Will mps vote

this through tomorow and if not what next.

Sunnyuplands · 18/10/2019 20:04

I think the entire country will be furious if these imbeciles don't vote this through tomorow.

ContinuityError · 18/10/2019 20:05

Basically, it changes it so that it's no longer a yes/no vote but rather 'indicating approval but withholding consent until & unless extension is applied for & granted'

It’s still a yes/no vote, but ensures if it’s a yes vote that there is sufficient time for the implementing bill to be passed.

ContinuityError · 18/10/2019 20:09

I think the entire country will be furious if these imbeciles don't vote this through tomorow.

Somehow I can’t see all 65 million people in the UK being furious. Or even mildly annoyed.

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 20:12

Interesting take from Paul Waugh though re Letwin....

If Letwin amendment passes then BJ has to ask for extension.
He'd do this, but ask for v short technical extension to allow just enough time to pass the relevant legislation.
If EU give that (they probably would, because Letwin passing indicates that deal will pass when presented again.

With only a short technical extension, there would be zero scope for Kyle-Wilson 2nd ref amendment to be presented as no time for 2nd ref before new exit date.

SO!

If Letwin passes, BJ applies for v short extension, EU approve, BJ brings deal for proper approval without more Brexit-blocking opportunities available, deal passes & we move to transition.....

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/10/2019 20:16

So we finally get a deal agreed, remainers s*!t themselves that Boris has pulled it off and panic. Letwin rallies the remain alliance to force another extension so they can have 3+ more months to find a way to stop it.

I hear the EU are getting mightily pissed off and Macron has said you ain't getting an extension.

The funniest thing would be if after Boris and the Conservatives finally all vote for a deal and remainers force a no deal Brexit because the EU refuses another delay. I would die laughing at that.

Any problems post Brexit problems, its the remainers fault because they forced a no deal Brexit. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 20:17

Also, BJ being 'forced' to apply for extension by Brexit blocking Parliament (albeit a short technical extension which suits him just fine actually) solidifies even further the Parliament vs people narrative in GE.

Win win for BJ really?

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 20:18

its the remainers fault because they forced a no deal Brexit.

😂😂😂

It's almost too beautiful isn't it?!

😂😂😂

DustyDiamond · 18/10/2019 20:21

Basically, the loons who have a 🇪🇺 outfit & Ode to Joy as their ringtone who think the EU are in love with them are increasingly being viewed by the EU as unhinged wankers & the EU can't wait to see the back of them now 😂😂

frumpety · 18/10/2019 20:24

Fangirl it really isn't a good WA, at least not if you are a normal person who relies on a wage and not a trust or hedge fund, and remember a WA isn't a deal. There is no such thing as A deal, whether we leave with a WA or not.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/10/2019 20:26

Dusty, we cant ask for a short technical extension because the surrender Bill means it has to be a minimum of 3 months.

And why do remainers want another 3 months, its to find a way to stop us leaving. What incentive have undecided MPs to get the deal done when they can just kick the decision down the road for another 3 months.

Its pretty disastrous for Boris if another extension happens.

time4chocolate · 18/10/2019 20:27

walking exactly my thoughts to a tee😊
