Quite coincidentally I too have been in negotiations today regarding the pubs licence and it's good news here as well, a deal has been agreed!!

There were no amendments or legal objections put forward so a shiny new licence has been issued and normal service can be resumed Smile

Same rules apply.

Now let's hope Saturday's proceedings can go ahead without the usual dicking around and that what has been nigh on impossible during the last 3 years, a majority, can be achieved otherwise I feel we are off to hell in a handcart!

First drink is on the house 🍻🍷🍻🍷Cheers

@Walkingdeadfangirl why would all those Labour MPs defy Corbyn if they didn't believe in the deal. They just don't believe in the silly timetable.
I would say the tide has turned in Parliament for Leave. Just not Johnson's "let's have a quickie " Leave. And no they haven't had three years to debate this WA? Unless they had a time machine

GreenishMe · 22/10/2019 20:12

Ooh I think we've had another flasher Smile

First of the night

.......definitely won't be the last Smile

Ooh I think we've had another flasher

Good grief. Could we have some meaningful debate on this thread?

Welcome to the Brexit Arms.

Prepare for lots of “praying for Sally” and 🙏🙏🙏

I have a genuine question...

The EU were waiting until the outcome of today to decide what extension length to offer

The house showed support for the bill, but indicated they did not have enough time to properly scrutinise etc

The EU now know that it could pass, and under the extension request they could offer a short technical extension to allow enough time to pass it

When the house votes on that extension (as the Benn act dictates it must if it's any different to 31st Jan) then presumably they will accept it

This now gives a new deadline date for no deal

So! The ERG may vote against it to force no deal??

In which case (my question finally!)

  • Have opposition MPs actions today now increased the risk of no deal????
TheMustressMhor · 22/10/2019 20:20

Have opposition MPs actions today now increased the risk of no deal?

Absolutely not.

The EU most definitely want a deal even if Boris definitely does not

ContinuityError · 22/10/2019 20:22

Which is why the EU may well offer the 31/1 extension with a break clause to terminate early if Parliament can agree a WA.

EU has already said it won’t be responsible for a no deal. I’d be surprised if the EU wasn’t fully aware of what the ERG might try to do.

DustyDiamond · 22/10/2019 20:22

Ooh I think we've had another flasher Smile

It's so predictable isn't it 🙄

A crumb is thrown their way which offers a glimmer of anti Brexit success & they run in willy-wanging, gloating and demanding attention

If something goes the other way (pro Brexit) they're still in here, but instead they're being abusive to anyone & everyone

Very tedious

Walkingdeadfangirl · 22/10/2019 20:23

why would all those Labour MPs defy Corbyn if they didn't believe in the deal

Seriously? So all those remain MPs in Leave constituents can say, "well I voted for the deal, shrug!" Knowing full well they had another mechanism to stop it happening. It was hardly defying Corby because he never said they would lose the whip if they didn't support him.

It is petty little political games to keep stopping Brexit.

DustyDiamond · 22/10/2019 20:23

Good grief. Could we have some meaningful debate on this thread?

Start a 'Meaningful Debate' thread if it's that important to you 🤷🏻‍♀️

TheMustressMhor · 22/10/2019 20:26

Can someone explain what "Praying for Sally" is about?

DustyDiamond · 22/10/2019 20:26

The EU most definitely want a deal

As does BJ, most of the Tories & a few opposition MPs

It's only the anti-Brexit coalition & the ERG that are hell bent on a no deal it seems

TheMustressMhor · 22/10/2019 20:27

Come off it, Dusty - BoZo doesn't especially want a Deal.

DustyDiamond · 22/10/2019 20:27

Thanks Continuity Smile

DustyDiamond · 22/10/2019 20:28

😂😂 he literally negotiated one

DustyDiamond · 22/10/2019 20:29

🙏🕯

Walkingdeadfangirl · 22/10/2019 20:30

DustyDiamond, I think you are right, once an extension is offered by the EU or not then the Ben act falls and no deal is back on the table.

time4chocolate · 22/10/2019 20:30

Good grief. Could we have some meaningful debate on this thread?

It's a pub, joviality as well as meaningful debate is allowed. If you find, for whatever reason, it is not to your liking you are of course free to drink/debate elsewhere.🍷🍷

He didn't want to, though.

DustyDiamond · 22/10/2019 20:32

Either way, today's actions give further support to the people vs Parliament narrative

🤷🏻‍♀️

At some point the opposition should surely get the memo?!

Walkingdeadfangirl · 22/10/2019 20:32

I wonder if Corbyn has the courage stiffles laughter to call an aleaction?

DustyDiamond · 22/10/2019 20:33

He didn't want to, though.

😂😂😂😂😂

And yet he did!

time4chocolate · 22/10/2019 20:33

Looks very much like Parliament don't either

Read the thread.

DustyDiamond · 22/10/2019 20:36

Definitely not Walking

The polls have been consistent for a while now & the latest preferred leader one had

BJ 43%
Jezza 20%
Don't know 34%
