The Pro Rogues plan to prorogue again this week.

The Queen might be challenged to sack Johnson. Or he might be forced to extend.

It depends on which newspaper you read. Either way it strikes you that no one really knows what's going to happen...

Sending love, Temporary.

💐💐💐

Sadly, it's virtual - not the practical love that can do & hold - but it's sincere.

Wishes for better days, edged with memories of loving and being loved. ❤️

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 07/10/2019 08:31

ginger well she wasn't wrong 😂

boatyardblues · 07/10/2019 08:49

I heard the Jennifer Arcuri stuff on Today this morning. She didn’t deny the affair, did she? Just told everyone to mind their own business. Hmm

QueenOfThorns · 07/10/2019 08:56

@Ellie56 I have not borrowed your cat (she may have borrowed me?)! I’ve noticed an increasing number of identiclone tabbies on my local Facebook pages. I think they’re quietly infiltrating homes across the country (perhaps even across the EU, looking at @MaxNormal’s pic!) and soon they will launch their evil schemes. I’m not too concerned, it can’t be any worse than what Fatberg and pals have got planned!

@TemporaryPermanent sorry for your loss Flowers

Reading that Twitter thread about polling data: it didn't include Scotland (to be fair, he acknowledges this Smile), so the Conservatives are likely to lose 12 seats there (I'll assume that they get to retain their "usual" single one but even that's not a given Wink). Labour and the LibDems are also likely to lose seats - but given that they will be replaced by the SNP, that doesn't change the Remain supporting equation.

He also acknowledges that he's missed out Plaid in Wales - yet includes Wales in his calculations Confused

From other surveys, it looks like the DUP are losing ground in NI (Smile), so overall, in none of his scenarios does "Leave" (Conservatives, DUP plus the Turquoise Party) win an overall majority (except possibly one - but as he's missed out Plaid, it's unlikely).

Which I'll as good news as that's a Dorset case scenario Smile

@TemporaryPermanent. So sorry for your loss.

And his generation get so stereotyped as selfish leavers which is just not so. My father was about the same age as yours, although he died more than ten years ago. He was a total European, and was all for the freedom of movement - he even worked in a European country for 3 years and loved it. I do not know what he would have made of this mess.

dontcallmelen · 07/10/2019 09:14

This feeling of early 1914 has gone on so long

Lewis Goodall@lewisgoodall

The feeling of knowing unreality in contemporary politics is extraordinary, yet everyone just goes along with it as if it’s ok and normal.

@temporaryPermanent and unwravellingagain

Offspring of parents who lived through WW2 here. Father served in Air Force, mother was a child during through the War. They both voted "in" during the 1970s Referendum. After the War, my father travelled, and made friends from Germany and France, and when me and sibs grew up, holidays were spent travelling to Europe, appreciating the culture, visiting his friends, attempting the languages. We were brought up to think of ourselves as Europeans, and we were not to be Little Englanders. I think my parent's Catholic faith came into the mix somewhere, too, valuing peace and friendship. They didn't want war to happen again. This is the main reason why I'm so passionately pro EU. I'm so angry that others can come along, and for their own selfish reasons, endanger the peace and co operation built up through EU membership.
Condolences, Temporary Permanent,

DGRossetti · 07/10/2019 10:12

Found myself wondering yesterday what the close gap between WW1 and WW2 meant demographically for future generations (i.e. us) ? Because I'm guessing whatever it did (or did not Hmm) mean, has some sort of bearing on what's playing out now, across the UK, US and possibly elsewhere ?

Hester54 · 07/10/2019 10:12

I didn’t realise that the EU was a peace keeping force as well, ( I thought that was the UN ) can they turn water into wine, they seem to do everything else

MaxNormal · 07/10/2019 10:13

@TemporaryPermanent condolences to you, I'm so sorry.

MockersthefeMANist · 07/10/2019 10:13

Jennifer Arcuri:
“I just want Boris to focus on making Britain great again.” Hmm

He is always focused on himself

It really is like seeing a library burned down by people who can't read.

thecatfromjapan · 07/10/2019 10:18

Good grief.

I hope this stops the lie that Labour want No Deal Brexit.

And puts the blame firmly back with the Tories.

(Reader, it didn't. ☹️)

thecatfromjapan · 07/10/2019 10:19

That was in reply to Mother's Peston post.
