The Pro Rogues plan to prorogue again this week.

The Queen might be challenged to sack Johnson. Or he might be forced to extend.

It depends on which newspaper you read. Either way it strikes you that no one really knows what's going to happen...

Whoops, my bad: Ed Miliband is still an MP ! Shock

He's been so quiet, that I thought he'd quit Parliament years ago, like his brother

Well, I'd be astonished if Corbyn would stand aside for the guy he replaced, but maybe that'll be an early trick or treat

BigChocFrenzy · 07/10/2019 00:04

That's disconcerting, like when a death is announced of someone I thought had died years earlier Grin

SwedishEdith · 07/10/2019 00:08

Ed Miliband is still very much around - great on Twitter.

Icantreachthepretzels · 07/10/2019 00:13

^I see the sun are running that Ed Miliband's name is in the running for heading GNU. How delicious would that irony taste?

We could stop calling it a GNU in that case. The pig fucker already named Miliband's govt 'the coalition of chaos' back in 2015.
Considering the catastrofuck the pig fucker, the maybot and the fatberg have all left behind ... it was a remarkably prescient nickname. Though, of course, they would be a coalition dealing with (tory) chaos not causing chaos.

PMK - with a bone-deep weariness and ennui only a cat photo can encapsulate.

Boris's "deal". Grin Grin

Yeah right. No wonder the EU didn't want to waste their weekend going through that shite.

tobee · 07/10/2019 00:47

Place marking.

Not only is it October, but week 1 has already gone! ShockShockShock

RHTawneyonabus · 07/10/2019 01:18

So the next prorogation seems like a normal one such as the court indicated would be acceptable.

Then a Queen’s Speech

After that a debate on the speech followed by a vote - convention dictates that if the government looses that vote they basically fail to form a govt and a GE should follow

But thee are not conventional times and those voting against the Queen’s Speech do not want a GE

All timed with it EU ‘negotiations’ this is going to a very interesting two weeks

BigChocFrenzy · 07/10/2019 01:18

"Don't waste this time" 🤦🏻‍♀️

mathanxiety · 07/10/2019 01:46

pmk.

IDontBelieveYou · 07/10/2019 02:50

PMK

wheresmymojo · 07/10/2019 03:32

PMK...lots of new faces on the Thread which is nice (I've missed the last one or two threads due to life and also a new Twitter obsession).

Placemarking with some bats 🦇

Proroguing Manly Kudos

Love the funky bats - my fave animal!
Re polls; didn't Cummings use the crapness of the polls to swing the ref? I seem to remember his objection to using them was that they don't poll the people who make a difference. I stopped looking at them after that as it was clear they are actually just another form of propaganda - in fact I think I posted an article discussing that a thread or two ago...

bellinisurge · 07/10/2019 05:44

Release the Bats! is my 80s ear worm now!
Thank you, Red. My dd is utterly bored by Brexit. My dh is stressed out by it. At work we occasionally share a grumble.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/10/2019 06:08

I'm definitely suffering from Brexit-fatigue. The thought of this going on and on and on and on much longer fills me with dread!

NoWordForFluffy · 07/10/2019 06:10

Oh, and I hadn't realised that Ed was still an MP either. They just don't talk to him or show him or make any reference to him. It must be weird to be able to slip to the backbenches as if nothing ever happened!

Mistigri · 07/10/2019 06:13

Miliband is very much still an MP.

I'd love a bit of chaos with Ed personally. (Which means it definitely wont happen.)

PS: the Fatberg! Hadn't heard that one. It's perfect.

TheMShip · 07/10/2019 06:24

Isn't the judgement due in the Cherry/Vince/Maugham case in Scotland today?

borntobequiet · 07/10/2019 06:32

PMK with the exciting news that the cat was sick twice yesterday.
The racing community will be charmed by the idea the Irish can’t bring horses here. Way to piss off a deeply Conservative voting sector ha ha.

LizzieSiddal · 07/10/2019 06:44

Why is there a Queen’s speech when there’s an election round the corner?Confused

Mayborn · 07/10/2019 06:45

PMK, are we really approaching the final countdown now, I still have no idea where things could go

Rhubarbisevil · 07/10/2019 06:49

Will HMQ really want to read out a speech which she knows is a crock of shit?

Fat berg Grin😁😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

countrygirl99 · 07/10/2019 06:52

Why do leavers think the "no deal is better than a bad deal" mantra only applies to the UK? Do they not think that the EU feel the same and let's face it, Johnson's proposal would be a bad deal from their point of view.

TemporaryPermanent · 07/10/2019 06:54

My dad died last Friday. I'm suddenly so very glad that he never had to live in a Brexited country. Like many of his generation (almost 90) he was a passionate pro European and pro EU. RIP and PMK.
