The Pro Rogues plan to prorogue again this week.

The Queen might be challenged to sack Johnson. Or he might be forced to extend.

It depends on which newspaper you read. Either way it strikes you that no one really knows what's going to happen...

Yes. That ^ And utterly baffled how this ever happened....which just means I'm not too bright I guess.
I've ordered travellers in the 3rd reich for ds1, thanks for the recommendation.
Thank god mum owns her house. If they decide to pull a windrush on Irish citizens she will at least have options.
of living somewhere she hasn't lived in 55 years and with none of her children near her
And as for HofC sitting on 19th October....its bojos "churchill" moment, isnt it? Its what all this fuckwittery has been about.

The leaver nows on social media are almost invariably fake. I suspect that Leaver nows and Remainer nows are two quite different groups. Leaver nows are in my experience largely people who "just want it over with" and think Brexit is the way to do that.

Yes, agree that I think he's wrong on this. The "I voted Remain but would vote to Leave to respect democracy" are rarely real accounts. Much like 'bots don't march', 'bots don't vote'.

ListeningQuietly · 09/10/2019 21:21

Its a bit like on the Bozo Facebook account - less than 1/1000 of the reacting accounts is human
but FB do not care

PerkingFaintly · 10/10/2019 00:37

ListeningQuietly, do you have a link for that figure? I'm interested in bot activity.

If you look at his feed, the same people post the same two words to everything he says
and they do nothing else.
I have reported lots, friends are reporting lots, US Congress is looking at it, House of Commons found Cummings in contempt over it
but Zuckerberg ignores it all.

Oh that's interesting.

I do know artificial intelligence is now being developed in China to create comment-bots. Posting the identical comment doesn't sound terribly high-tech, though, so maybe not being used for Johnson... yet.

Microsoft Used Machine Learning to Make a Bot That Comments on News Articles For Some Reason

The social internet has a bot problem. Fake accounts plague Twitter and Facebook, and content designed to misinform readers has become an issue that's drawn the attention of Congress.

This difficult and growing problem hasn't stopped a team of researchers from creating an algorithm that can parse news stories, then bicker with real humans in the comments section.
[...]
the system is made up of two neural networks: a reading network that "comprehends" an article and picks out important points, and a generation network that writes a comment based on those points and the title of the article.

Better article from El Reg:

This won't end well. Microsoft's AI boffins unleash a bot that can generate fake comments for news articles

Quite easy to winkle bots out - as anyone who has tried to use Google search would know Grin

Is that Facebook thing legal?

I posted on BJ's account - but no messages get posted. They look like they have been if you stay on your account, but not when you log out and look. Like you say all the posts are robotic/generic stuff - and even the liking button won't do 'angry'.

Is this something we should report? I wondered if it was OK for the PM to do this ...
