And fucking banging on about the 'will of the people' and how 'we all want out by 31st October' shows the depth of corruption in these heads, and how venally abusive Brexit 'leaders' really are.

MysteryTripAgain · 25/09/2019 08:14

this brexit malarkey is a lot more complicated than we thought

Because the parties have used Brexit for their own gain as opposed to implementing the result. Labour blocked all three votes on WA as they thought they would force a General Election and be elected. Brexit party stopped that idea in May this year. Since then labour have remained silent about an election.

LibDems policy is to ignore votes as per Jo Swinson. Greens want to remain, etc....

MysteryTripAgain · 25/09/2019 08:20

@MrPan

Maybe reason for leave vote has nothing to do with economics, but a two finger gesture to; Brussels, France and Germany?

The UK treasury forecast of between 500,000 800,000 job loses and a reduction in GDP of 6% just by a vote to leave did not happen. So maybe those who voted leave are convinced that government data is unreliable and manufactured for the purposes of scaring people into voting how the government wants them to vote?

MrPan · 25/09/2019 08:21

No, because it IS complicated.

How many times does it need saying? There is no such thing as a clean Brexit, just get on with it, we voted out, people's will and all the rest of the simple bollocks spouted.

MrPan · 25/09/2019 08:26

Don't be stupid - every forecaster, business manager and planner forecasts significant troubles - only currency speculators are benfiting in the global market.

Johnson etc want out by Jan 2020 to avoid tax avoidance laws AND to cream off the investments of this country over the years in civic assets, plus strip the NHS.

And people like you and other 'brexiters' are just their mindless cannon fodder items. Unfortunately we will ALL be paying for your decisions.

MysteryTripAgain · 25/09/2019 08:27

No, because it IS complicated

Made so by those who voted remain in hope that the longer it drags on the more likely it will fade away and not happen.

How many times does it need saying? There is no such thing as a clean Brexit, just get on with it, we voted out, people's will and all the rest of the simple bollocks spouted

Again only remain supporters think that way.

DustyDiamond · 25/09/2019 08:27

I said the notwithstanding bill would be amendable - I didn’t say it would be amendable after it had passed the third reading in both Houses.

Then I'm afraid I cannot understand what you were blethering about before.

As I said, the opposition parties are being entirely disingenuous re 'not voting for GE because can't trust BJ not to change date'.

It is perfectly achievable vie one line bill with date on it.

BJ does not have the numbers to amend it & even if he did, the HoL would not pass it.

There is no 'danger' re date in this scenario - the only danger is that opposition charlatans would tack their own amendments on re extensions etc.

Btw, I was quite explicit in earlier posts:

Plenty of time for one line bill with date of GE on to pass through both houses thereby date is fixed in law

They can't amend it if it's been passed properly though

Legislation which has passed through all stages is not amendable!

Once it has passed all stages & has royal assent it is no longer amendable.

And you kept parroting variations of:

It is amendable. See Vernon Bogdanor on this.

cherin · 25/09/2019 08:27

Also, 2 fingers gestures are not very mature
If the consequences are not a shrug of the shoulders from the opposite football team, but your kids losing out completely in comparison to a EU kid??

MysteryTripAgain · 25/09/2019 08:28

every forecaster, business manager and planner forecasts significant troubles

So how do you explain the UK treasury forecast of job loses and GDP drop that never happened?

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 25/09/2019 08:36

Thing is. To most leave voters it was a simple β€˜ in or out’ decision. I’m sure David Cameron even described it as such.
Yes, it was obviously going to take some time to untangle all the red tape, but if remainers/ establishment didn’t keep trying to stop us leaving we’d have left by now.
It’s not that complicated to leave the EU, it’s complicated when certain people, who clearly have their own agendas, keep running to the courts to stop us leaving.

Brexit is actually very simple.
Leave won.
The establishment didn’t want that result so aren’t going to honour the vote.

See........Simple.

Clavinova · 25/09/2019 08:46

Sostenueto
Get ready by having enough money to pay for food that doubles in price

The Labour Party recently estimated the average family shop (including one bottle of wine) will increase by approximately Β£4 per week - not double in price. I guess you wouldn't buy the wine in this scenario.

get ready to lose your job because you may not be able to get to work because of petrol rationing

Why are you expecting petrol rationing?

Kent County Council published their Brexit Preparedness Update on the 12th September;

"Kent’s position as the gateway to Europe means that the UK’s readiness for a no-deal scenario strongly relies on Kent’s readiness."

"To this end, Kent County Council, working with its partners has taken responsible and timely actions to prepare for all eventualities, including a potential no-deal scenario. Kent has well-developed plans to ensure we minimise disruption to Kent’s residents and businesses."

"Kent’s no-deal plans have been in place since March 2019. We were prepared, if required, ahead of the previous no-deal deadline (31 March and 12 April 2019).Through close collaborative working with the Department for Transport and Kent Resilience Forum, we have a well-thought through, sensible and practical plan, β€œOperation Brock”, ready to go live at short notice."

"This will manage potential disruption and delay at the ports, enable Kent to hold up to 12,000 goods vehicles and, for the first time, keep all Kent roads open at all times."

Gosh, just thought we are supposed to be saving the planet and cutting down on plastic. We better get rid of all those body bags the government have stockpiled then!

They have obviously under-ordered on the body bags then Wink - they've only stockpiled an extra 6 weeks worth. In 2006, 3 million body bags were mooted in case of a flu pandemic;

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1533359/Three-million-body-bags-may-be-stockpiled-in-disaster-plans.html

MysteryTripAgain · 25/09/2019 08:47

@dirtyrottenscoundrel

Correct

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 25/09/2019 08:49

So we’ll never be able to hold ourselves up as this great beacon of democracy, invading other dictatorship countries to β€˜free the people’ because we don’t give a toss about our own people & totally ignore their wishes.

You couldn’t make it up.
We are, & will be forever more, a complete joke.

DustyDiamond · 25/09/2019 08:51

Yes, it was obviously going to take some time to untangle all the red tape, but if remainers/ establishment didn’t keep trying to stop us leaving we’d have left by now.

And tbh, if MPs had been seen to be acting in good faith to deliver Brexit instead of putting all energy into frustrating & subverting, then the electorate would have likely been understanding about any extensions which were deemed necessary.

Instead, we saw MP's personal ideology & parties' naked politicking hijacking everything at every turn.

MrPan · 25/09/2019 08:51

The establishment didn’t want that result so aren’t going to honour the vote.

And the establishment doesn't include Johnson/Mogg/Farage?

These people have your interests at heart?

Pitiful. Have a look at the people who want to 'get this done', and consider their motives. Democracy and being 'patriotic' are not their motives. Fucking the country over for personal gain is.

MysteryTripAgain · 25/09/2019 08:52

@DustyDiamond

Correct too

Angryresister · 25/09/2019 08:59

Taking other people's rights away is not a good look.

DustyDiamond · 25/09/2019 09:00

Have a look at the people who want to 'get this done', and consider their motives.

There are plenty of MPs who are not dastardly wankers.

Sadly there are a significant number of self-aggrandising charlatans (across all parties)

To keep crying 'but JRM! but Farage!', as if they're the only people who support delivering on the ref result, is lazy, tedious & vacuous. (Although it is the level of basic discourse I've come to expect from anti-democrats)

mummmy2017 · 25/09/2019 09:00

Fast forward to Oct 17th....

Boris (through gritted teeth): "I'd like to request an A50 extension"

EU: "OK, and what is the reason for this extension?"

Boris: "Haven't got the foggiest mate, pointless if you ask me."

So what do the EU do in this situation? πŸ˜‚

KennDodd · 25/09/2019 09:02

Astonishing that anyone can say the vote to leave is being ignored. This is the worst political period in my lifetime, parliament is tied up in knots trying to implement Brexit for the last three years, MPs getting death threats, two PMs out, all to push through this ridiculous decision to Leave. No what I'd describe as 'being ignored'.

MrPan · 25/09/2019 09:03

"The establishment", "will of the people", "just get on with it", "project fear", "unpatriotic", "two fingers to Brussels".
Not the best, 'informed' slogans to work from, when you look at the actual behaviours of the 'leaver leaders'.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 25/09/2019 09:03

MrPan

Whether you like it or not, once the dust has settled on all this & we’re still an EU lapdog, people around Europe will sum the whole thing up as; β€˜oh the UK, the country who voted to leave the EU but weren’t allowed to’

I know you and all other remainers on here couldn’t care less about that, but that’s how it will be remembered.

MrPan · 25/09/2019 09:06

But these people ARE the establishment, you know, the one that's trying to frustrate the will of the people, whilst also (according to your logic) are trying to carry out the will of the people.

leavers really should look at what they are saying. It's coming across as not very convincing.

MrPan · 25/09/2019 09:06

"EU lapdog"

Bingo.

Bearbehind · 25/09/2019 09:07

Goodness me this bickering is tedious!

Leavers are never going to accept that leaving isn’t simple and Remainers are never going to understand why Leavers don’t understand just how complicated it is.

After 3 and a half years do you honestly think you’re going to change the other sides view?
