I can't get past the fact that no deal jeopardises a peace treaty that is designed to protect our own citizens. Wars have started over the breaking of international treaties and yet here we are with a proportion of the population thinking this is an ok thing to do. Aside from the lack of morality and the shocking betrayal of our own citizens, how will this make us look on the international stage? Trustwothy folk that stick to deals? Swathes of powerful Americans are not happy with it either so good luck with that.

twofingerstoEverything · 30/08/2019 16:54

I voted to leave because I just β€˜feel’ it’s the best thing. No facts to back up my vote it’s just I feel it’s the right decision.
tomtom - do you also 'feel' that it's fine to break an international peace treaty? Lots of Leavers on these threads are whining that they're not treated with due respect and that people 'sneer'. Well, is it any fucking wonder when people spout drivel about 'feeling' everything will be fine? Cultish behaviour at its finest.

Bearbehind · 30/08/2019 17:03

Honestly Remainers on this thread - most of you know how much I’ve tried to get answers in the past but we’re way beyond that now

Leavers are never going to agree this might end badly

It’s just got to happen now and we need to get on with it

I strongly suspect mummmy is going to be very disappointed though as it’s going to be a fudged WA rather than her dream no deal but we’ll still have left.

Asking what people want to achieve through Brexit now is literally a waste of effort

I agree, but they need to stop whining that people don't respect their opinions/arguments etc. because they don't have any. They just have feelings and conviction and faith and a fuck everyone else attitude.

PotatoShape · 30/08/2019 17:22

Brexit IS the goal. To leave. The end.

Miljah · 30/08/2019 17:26

tomtom "I voted to leave because I just β€˜feel’ it’s the best thing. No facts to back up my vote it’s just I feel it’s the right decision."

Dear god.

Bearbehind · 30/08/2019 17:30

Brexit IS the goal. To leave. The end.

2 years ago this would have made me despair.

Now it’s possibly our saviour

If Boris stands up and says we’ve left I reckon 90% of Leavers won’t think about it again - they won’t care if it’s deal or no deal

bellinisurge · 30/08/2019 17:31

Destroy GFA- the consequence.

Songsofexperience · 30/08/2019 17:32

Yes that's a gem, isn't it?

ListeningQuietly · 30/08/2019 17:39

Brexit IS the goal. To leave. The end.
How will you measure / quantify / define reaching the goal?
How will you know you have arrived?

tomtom1999xx · 30/08/2019 17:59

Asking what people want to achieve through Brexit now is literally a waste of effort

I agree. But the questions from remainers never stop.

twofingerstoEverything · 30/08/2019 18:06

But the questions from remainers never stop. You just need to transform the way you feel about that Tom. Turn it into a positive.

tomtom1999xx · 30/08/2019 18:15

Thing is twofingerstoEverything - 3 years on, & after all your efforts to put forward β€˜the facts’ very few leavers have changed their minds.
So these debates are pointless.

bellinisurge · 30/08/2019 18:24

I wonder why people keep asking the same questions? Maybe it's because they never get answers. Just more feelz.
I feel that the GFA is worth preserving. Does that count? Or is it only special feelz. [shudders]

Socksontheradiator · 30/08/2019 18:27

They are pointless. But it does make me sad that leavers prize the feelz that leaving the EU is all they want. I can almost understand why they voted to leave with their gut feeling. What I struggle with is why they are hell bent on leaving now that experts are telling us how terribly it is likely to affect our countries.
But hey ho. Enjoy your drinks in the Brexit Arms.

Socksontheradiator · 30/08/2019 18:27

*so much that, I mean

twofingerstoEverything · 30/08/2019 19:29

Thing is twofingerstoEverything - 3 years on, & after all your efforts to put forward β€˜the facts’ very few leavers have changed their minds.

Of the 3 people I know who voted leave, 2 certainly have changed their minds after seeing what a collossal fuck up it all is and having considered things they hadn't thought of before (NIs, impact of EU staf leaving NHS, etc). It's only the dimwit one who continues to believe. She still thinks the NHS is definitely going to get an extra 350M a week, so there's not much arguing with that kind of stupidity.

Autumnintheair · 30/08/2019 19:54

I cannot fathom what answers any remainer on these threads could possibly want.
I've seen endless replies, links, explanations but all rejected..
I really do feel it would be better to accept, no answers will ever be satisfactory for you.

Autumnintheair · 30/08/2019 19:57

Well I guess leavers could go and chat on Westminster threads.

Geraniumpink · 30/08/2019 19:59

Only remainers knew what they were voting for. It’s like deciding to move house or not. It’s fine to decide that you do want to move, but then it raises more questions as in β€˜Where?’, β€˜How?’ and β€˜When?’ I do wonder, when all these questions have been settled, what percentage of leavers will be contented with the outcome.

tomtom1999xx · 30/08/2019 19:59

The only answer they want is;
β€˜I’m so sorry I made a stupid mistake & bitterly regret my vote, I wish I’d voted remain, you were so right you clever thing you’

Anything else is just not acceptable Grin

Autumnintheair · 30/08/2019 20:01

Only Remainers knew what they were voting for?

How? So much has changed in the eu in 40 years. Its changing all the time.

bellinisurge · 30/08/2019 20:02

@Autumnintheair , I want Leavers to get a 3 day buffer of food in. I don't care how they voted, I just want them to keep the fuck out of the way with avoidable dramas so that care and attention can be given to people with unavoidable problems during what Michael Gove (No Deal minister) has called "bumps in the road ".

Autumnintheair · 30/08/2019 20:06

Don't worry I always have about 3 days in.

AND plenty of loo roll... I always do. Smile
With or without brexit. However any shortages will occur down the line with un forseen things springing up.

I know they will be dealt with as quickly as possible but still... It's always prudent to be a little self sufficient and as pp said somwhere can always donate more to food banks.

Dapplegrey · 30/08/2019 20:13

I cannot fathom what answers any remainer on these threads could possibly want.

Whenever a leaver does answer the Remainers see it as an excellent opportunity to tell them how stupid they are.
