Mine was just the once, @flouncyfanny. 19 July last year. Culminating in surgery in March to reattach my tendon. I have screws in my shoulder now!

I got a massive friction burn that day too. I was in so much pain that it's only when I saw it in the mirror after my home time wee at 5pm that I realised!

SistemaAddict · 04/09/2019 21:11

I am a failure of a prepper. I was in the middle of cooking dinner and discovered I had no cornflour to coat the tofu I'd marinated. Bloody kids had used it all to make slime and I hadn't replaced it. I had to send dd to the shop to get some. Fail. Must add cornflour to the shopping list!

Was in Lidl & Home Bargains & both were out of stock on paracetamol. Big empty gap where the paracetamol packs should be. Managed to grab a few packs of panadol & ibuprofen instead.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/09/2019 22:24

Home Bargains was back in stock for paracetamol today. Not many boxes, but some.

I got some seeds for my bread baking. I need more though.

I also had pretend Archers fall into my trolley for Christmas!

I had a Sparks discount so got some crisps and crackers in Marks too.

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/09/2019 22:36

Ouch.

Hypermolity. Have you found the RCGP's Ehlers Danlos toolkit?

A bit of research suggests that if you are hypermobile you are 7 times more likely to be autistic, more likely to have asthma, allergies, anxiety, stomach, bladder, bowel problems, eyesight problems, and a whole host of other things. Less sensitive to local anaesthetics.

I may have an academic crush on Marco Castori, an Italian researcher.

Stocking up on omeprazole, inhalers, spacers and ibuprofen for me. Also tubigrips and joint supports for me. Tubigrips on the knees helps me walk.

Medicine review has resulted in three inhalers in stock for DD. One will go in the oh fuck overnight holdall.

I was only diagnosed a year or so ago. And yes to the progesterone making everything slack and walking like I have been on the falling down water.

And I have fallen over a couple of times.

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/09/2019 22:40

Really ought to be more careful with that trolley fluffy. DD helped me steer the trolley past the Pringles without any accidentally falling into the trolley. Did help that I was worried about D's and his first day.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/09/2019 22:46

I have 4 tubes of Pringles already. 😂 My trolleys do all appear to be alcoholics, don't they? Blush

We didn't stockpile booze in March, but I'll be buggered if I have a booze-less Christmas!

How did his day go, Blackeyed?

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/09/2019 23:32

Ok as far as I know.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2019 07:20

Yeah, we don't get much out of our kids about school. But my theory is that you'd hear if it wasn't OK!

I keep thinking about bits I need to add to my stockpile. I know that bellini says you can't have a mini Tesco store at home. Well, I'm trying! 😂😂

WaggingKnife · 05/09/2019 09:10

Oh Christmas booze! I hadn’t thought about that. We have good wine stocks but I think we ran down the spirits with summer BBQs, I must have a check to see what we needs restocking. No way am I having a dry Christmas, especially because I’ll be working Christmas Day (not sure which shift yet).

GoneWishing · 05/09/2019 09:10

@BlackeyedGruesome - glad you got antibiotics for your DD. My DM had the bull's eye rash (she gets bitten by a LOT of ticks where she lives), and she did say it was a very long course and she felt quite unwell for a bit with it, and the meds had a side effect that meant you had to avoid sunshine? (She has ended up with some kind of a pain/neurological condition that she thinks is linked to all the ticks, but her doctors, including a specialist, do not, as it mysteriously improves with steroids.)

Re. more Brexit delay - I've been getting stuff with 2020 date at least, mostly. Only bits here and there will need using up beforehand (obviously not worrying about this with any of the Christmas stuff, for example). I guess I'll just keep on rotating. I am following the news, but as a non-native who can't vote anyway, I'm just kind of shrugging in the background.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2019 16:56

I have my rice! No 10kg in stock, so I have 2 x 5kg as a sub. They're hefty sacks even at 5kg!

MarshmallowManiac · 05/09/2019 17:27

Seem to have plenty of Paracetamol in Poundland today, there was an offer on of 3 for £ Smile

PurpleGoose · 05/09/2019 17:33

For those still wanting rice, Tesco's 'Growers Harvest' long grain white rice is £1 per kg bag. So as long as you don't mind having 10 little bags instead of 1 huge one it works out cheaper for 10 kg.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2019 18:20

They can't be boxes of 16, Marshmallow, as they can only sell 32 tablets in one transaction.

EveLevine · 05/09/2019 20:40

Just catching up on this thread after a busy couple of days getting DCs settled back into school.

@BlackeyedGruesome my DS has almost all of the conditions you listed in your post last night, only one he hasn't got is eyesight problems. A couple of years ago we saw a private allergy specialist, and in his report he mentioned Ligamentous Laxity was present - NHS paed totally dismissed it, but now I'm wondering from your list whether DS is actually hypermobile. Is there any point in trying to get a diagnosis do you think? I mean, do you think a diagnosis helps with dealing with symptoms?

For anyone starting to think about Christmas - Pringles are currently half price in Tesco, and Morrison are doing 2 for £7 on the chocolate tubs from tomorrow.

BlackeyedGruesome · 05/09/2019 22:02

Aldi had chocolate tubs cheap today.

I would take the toolkit to whichever GP has an interest in it.

BlackeyedGruesome · 05/09/2019 22:04

We had one paed who has actually diagnosed DD, and another later who said not, but was an arrogant got.

BlackeyedGruesome · 05/09/2019 22:27

Apologies for being a bit terse. Typing on phone pisses me off. too lazy to move to computer just yet.

MarshmallowManiac · 05/09/2019 23:34

Just checked Fluffy they are packs of 16 and they were selling them as 3 for £ Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2019 05:36

Really, Marshmallow?!?! Bloody hell! I got told off in Wilko the other day for trying to buy Calpol plus two boxes of adult tablets! 😂

EveLevine · 06/09/2019 08:06

@BlackeyedGruesome sounds familiar :( They are so dismissive. DS’s support worker has been trying to gather evidence for an OT referral for dyspraxia assessment, so I’ll mention it to her at our next play therapy session.

@NoWordForFluffy Poundland have been doing 3 for £1 for awhile. No idea how they are allowed. I mentioned on one of the paracetamol shortage threads in AIBU that I’d been buying 3 each time I go, as worried about DM having enough, and got accused of contributing to the shortages by stockpiling!

OutOfIdeasMum · 06/09/2019 08:44

@EveLevine Poundland gets away with it because the 32 tablets rule is a "strong recommendation" rather than a law. Legally, they could sell up to 100 tablets in one transaction. This sums it up quite well: www.chemistanddruggist.co.uk/news/mhra-and-rps-slam-poundland-three-packs-%C2%A31-paracetamol-deal
