No paracetamol in Home Bargains today. Loads in Wilko next door though! Definitely intermittent supply issues!

I have a 10kg bag of rice on order from Tesco for Thursday's collection. We shall see what I get!

Orangecake123 · 03/09/2019 20:59

"You can use any Visa Debit, Visa, Mastercard, Amex or Tesco Credit Card. Unfortunately we are unable to accept sign-ups using Visa Electron or Maestro cards."

I found the answer to my own previous question as to why my card wouldn't work in their frequently asked questions!

Orangecake123 · 03/09/2019 21:05

The only thing I'd want to stock up on now would be mince pies!

Sainsbury's around here was well stocked with basics pasta and rice, so if there is a rush on it's not spread here yet!

BlackeyedGruesome · 03/09/2019 21:44

Shelves have definitely been patchier than normal but not consistently so. IE one supermarket has run out of tinned sweetcorn but another down the road is heaving with it.

BlackeyedGruesome · 03/09/2019 21:46

In other news, DD appears to have a classic bullseye rash on her legs. Trip to the GP tomorrow.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/09/2019 22:28

oh no!
Don't take no for an answer. Treated early it's totally curable.

WaggingKnife · 04/09/2019 10:04

I was on older, pre-March threads under a different name. We barely touched our March stash, mostly just used up stuff like part baked baguettes, butter and frozen meats and dairy but we’ve been replacing as and when used. We didn’t touch the tins, treats or huge tubs of dried beans and lentils.

We are back to adding more to the stash.
Today I spotted truckles of cheese in Morrisons on offer at 2 for £3 and they have a March date, so I bought eight. I figure if we don’t use them by March and things are still iffy then, I can freeze them.

Our tomatoes, courgettes and cucumbers are still coming along nicely so I’m probably going to make pasta sauce with the tomatoes and courgettes and either jar or freeze. I might pickle the cucumbers, although the DC are desperate to try what they planted.

Regarding frozen veg - green beans are really good.

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/09/2019 18:53

I have stocked up on school supplies at Wilco's and one or two bits for Christmas.

bellinisurge · 04/09/2019 18:59

@BlackeyedGruesome , hope your dd is ok. Sensible action on your part to get it checked.

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/09/2019 19:16

@bellinisurge @OhYouBadBadKitten

Antibiotics prescribed. Blood test to be organised and advice being sought by the GP.

There was some breath holding regarding antibiotics while the GP read through the information, but she prescribed antibiotics in the end. We did take up a lot of time.

Hope everyone is ok as recent developments mean we may be stockpiling for January now. I'm prepared, but slightly exhausted with the ever shifting sands and totally confused as to why anyone supports BJ or the Tories at all.

However, if anyone is near a Heron's, they have Paracetamol and Iboprofen for 29p each. Sainsburys and Aldi near me have been pretending they don't have any (empty shelves, usual thing of stock arriving soon. Me and my Mum reckon they are stockpiling with a view to putting prices up)

Oh and also, 10kg bags of Tilda rice are anywhere between £15 and £22 a pop.
Heron's have 1kg bags for a quid.
I promise I don't work for Heron's!

Sainsbury's have 2 jars of Cirio Passata Rustuca half price (down from £1.25 to 62p this week) it's my DDs favourite pasta sauce so I'm planning on going back tomorrow for 10 packs.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/09/2019 20:16

That's good Blackeyed well done. They aren't the nicest of tablets to take, but important to take.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/09/2019 20:20

What does the GP think it is, @BlackeyedGruesome? I'm glad she has medication though.

I'm hopefully getting a sack of rice from Tesco tomorrow. I'll get a substitution if it's not available, so may end up with many smaller bags instead! I also have a massive bottle of oil too.

I'm almost up to full capacity now!

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/09/2019 20:30

@NoWordForFluffy.

Lyme's disease. Bullseye ring is the big clue. GP had to look it up. Looks like the pictures on the internet.

Is Lyme's disease one of "those" diseases that are erm trendy, people like to claim erroneously? (Or possibly not as there is not much research)

NoWordForFluffy · 04/09/2019 20:33

Isn't it from tick bites? I'm not sure if it's trendy though. Hope she's better soon.

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/09/2019 20:33

Oh and I have sorted the school stationery cupboard putting away they maths sets, rulers, and highlightes that DD persistently loses.

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/09/2019 20:35

You know those conditions like hypermobility that professionals erm, doubt.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/09/2019 20:43

Apparently I'm hyper mobile. Didn't find that out til last November, at 42! It's why I tore my shoulder tendon falling downstairs rather than breaking it.

Also apparently, hyper mobile people have a tendency towards anxiety too. Interesting, eh?

GrouchyKiwi · 04/09/2019 21:01

I'm hypermobile. It's a right bastard of a thing, especially at that time of the month.

Stocking up has stalled here. I suspect my subconscious is hoping that all the parliamentary shenanigans currently happening will have a good impact.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/09/2019 21:02

There does seem to have been a big increase in Lyme disease that doesn't seem to be just down to increased awareness. Blood tests quite often give false negatives if they are done early on after infection.
