My brexit cupboard shelves have been depleted due to using up the things that were going out of date like long life milk and juice. We also seem to have raided the baked beans Blush
After today's announcement of buffoon johnson (isn't Johnson an American term for penis?) being our new PM and his threat of brexit on Halloween come hell or high water I figured I should assess my supplies. I still have my original lists somewhere so need to check everything.
Anyone else extra worried now and assessing their supplies?

Im

Was aiming for 6 weeks previously as mean if move to Universal credit would be ok but with Brexit now looming

I keep checking worrying that do not have enough am trying to up it .Have emptied and defrosted the big freezer ready to fill

Hoooo · 19/08/2019 16:17

autumn I pay each month for a pre payment cert...I'm assuming they don't accept NHS scripts?

My local pharmacy has 6 packs in stock yes, 6! so I've requested an emergency script so I can get some!

AutumnCrow · 19/08/2019 16:25

@Hoooo Try Pharmacy2u maybe?

Meanwhile yes chase up emergency prescription and local pharmacies - a twin track plan is best.

I have an outstanding NHS prescription but am still searching for a pharmacy that can fill it, i.e. a pharmacy that has any Evorel HRT patches on stock. One pharmacist said my whole area is 'out'.

Worse still perhaps, they can't order any in. They're all chain pharmacies, tied to supply contracts, I presume. Which is absolutely the epitome of Brexit chaos to come ...perhaps

Anyway, I digress.

Lidl tomatoes, 25p a tin.

rosie39forever · 19/08/2019 16:33

I have just ordered evorel patches from the independent pharmacy with no problem as not one pharmacy locally can fill my prescription. There's a detailed online form to fill in which is checked by a doctor but then they are sent tracked by Royal Mail only downside is 24patches are £45 but there's no way I can cope without. My local pharmacies chant get alternatives either so don't know what you're supposed to do if you can't afford private.

rosie39forever · 19/08/2019 16:36

Most pharmacies in England use the same two wholesalers so once they run out that the whole country effected, imagine this x100 with a no deal Brexit.

Hoooo · 19/08/2019 17:42

Tried them.
Got a ciuple of months but them they couldn't get them either

Hoooo · 19/08/2019 18:12

Just looked online...

My surgery no longer allows you to get your meds from online pharmacies!

Hahahahahaha hysterical laughter

Socksontheradiator · 19/08/2019 19:05

Oh good grief Hoooo I hope you can get some.
Good post for stash newbies from @blackeyedgruesome

AnnaMariaDreams · 19/08/2019 19:51

Moo milk is dated March 2020 in Home Bargains.
Can I suggest D Mannose if prone to UTIs- it’s very effective.
I’m nearly there, just need more Long life fresh stuff eg chorizo, cheese, wraps.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/08/2019 20:32

Hooo for things like HRT your gp doesn't need to be informed. I've sent you a pm.

ifonly4 · 19/08/2019 20:35

Tesco Creamfields uht milk had a sell by date of May 2020 today

rosie39forever · 19/08/2019 21:21

The independent Pharmacy currently have stocks of Evorel Conti, sequi, 25 and 50.

LuluJakey1 · 19/08/2019 21:42

I have rice and pasta, lots of tinned tomatoes, lots of frozen soups, butter beans and kidney beans, loo roll, laundry stuff, floor wash, bathroom cleaner, 6 cans of deodorant for me and six for DH, 6 of shampoo and shower and bath stuff, a dozen tubes of toothpaste and half a dozen bottles of mouthwash, bottles of apple and elderflower squash to dilute., frozen vegetables which I have prepared. In the garage freezer, I have been making meals and freezing them - vegetable lasagnes, tomato and vegetable casseroles, curries, potato bakes, veggie sausage casseroles, frozen scones and some quiches, pureed veg and fruit from the garden for baby. as well as things DS and DD like as lunches - fishcakes, fishfingers, veggie burgers. Pitta breads and bread for DH's lunches. In the larder, I am stocking up on packets of crackers. salad dressing, soy sauce, ketchup, mayo. It is all stuff we will eat or use anyway.

LuluJakey1 · 19/08/2019 21:43

And have bulk bought 2 months of cat litter and cat food.

AutumnCrow · 19/08/2019 22:31

That's weird. The Independent Pharmacy was completely out of Evorel 50 yesterday, but now they have it back in stock. So how can they get it if every single high street pharmacy in my entire city can't?

thatsnotmycateither · 19/08/2019 23:09

Can I just point out the amusement of this being on 666 messages? Or was ... got to find some comedy somewhere... As you were ...

Hell is ever closer-how's your stash looking?
Dontlickthetrolley · 19/08/2019 23:47

I noticed that too @thatsnotmycateither

BlackeyedGruesome · 20/08/2019 00:35

Nice one cat. Great screenshot. Thanks

croftermum · 20/08/2019 00:51

same here, I had to use all the UHT milk and now getting through the flour. Im in the rural highlands, at the furthest away point from dover! I have a fishing rod and hooks if need be!! ( and a field of potatoes)

rosie39forever · 20/08/2019 07:50

@AutumnCrow the nhs buys drugs at a negotiated fixed price through a wholesaler which will be at a lower price than an independent will pay so I suppose the drug company are reserving stock for the highest bidder, either that or this arsehole government are Blackfoot privatising medication and of course women don't really need HRT do they🤬

rosie39forever · 20/08/2019 07:51

Backdoor not Blackfoot

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2019 08:04

I was going to go and get blood tests done to see if I'm peri. It would appear there's no point if there's no HRT around anyway.

I think I'll go back onto the combined pill instead, in case my odd symptoms are mini pill related.

mamapants · 20/08/2019 10:05

Just taken advantage of the waitrose £30 off online delivery offer, new customers only. Waitrose do quite a bit of different things to try so looking forward to trying them out. Am doing all my shopping online at moment as kids off school so can't check bb dates unfortunately but have ordered a few things to check dates such as chorizo and quite a few tinned fruit for the store cupboard. Arriving next week. Got tesco coming tonight.

Socksontheradiator · 20/08/2019 10:12

I have the morning off, so I'm about to check how some of my long life dairy products have fared in my warm larder.
I have some out of date water in bottles. I guess the danger is in breakdown of plastic polluting the water. Thoughts, anyone?

mamapants · 20/08/2019 10:12

Am thinking I'll have to invest in a decent supply of nappies which will be a bit of an outlay. How many weeks supply are people thinking of getting? I already bulk buy online as DS has special needs so we need big sizes that are tricky to get at supermarkets.
