Looking for some lighter brexit relief by fellow leavers... Every thread I've glanced at seems to be dominated by renainers?

Is there any space for leaver on here?

Just interested... I wanted to chat...

Blame does not solve anything. Voting is what makes a difference. If the leave supporters think they have made a mistake they can vote differently next time.

bellinisurge · 17/07/2019 07:36

No, blame doesn't solve anything but this shit is not on me.

TheEmpireNoMore · 17/07/2019 07:47

So make the best of what you have. Attempts by remain supporters to persuade leave supporters does not seem to have been effective. Even Government voted heavily against a second referendum.

UK not leaving EU with out a deal was won by one vote only. So even MPs are not that convinced anymore?

bellinisurge · 17/07/2019 07:52

I'm a prepper with an Irish born mum so I am ok. I voted Remain. I haven't been lobbying on here for Remain. I have been lobbying on here for WA to protect GFA.

jasjas1973 · 17/07/2019 07:58

The recent vote was procedural, forcing Govt to update Parliament, it just makes it a bit harder for HoC to be prorogued but not impossible.

Its not exactly how you are presenting it.

Sorry, can't do proper link thing. The pund has fallen to its lowest since 2017 in the build up to leaving with no deal. The exchange rates are shit. This is before we've left. It will mean it will cost more to buy the same goods.

Project fear huh? This has happened.

sionnachbeag · 17/07/2019 08:05

Banking jobs have left the UK.

FDI has fallen.

Between 2016 and 2019 the UK performed far worse than had been forecast without brexit.

Inflation went up, impacting real wages of the lowest paid more than all of the immigration since 2014.

What it shows is that people shouting "project fear" don't actually understand economics.

ShatteredBrianne · 17/07/2019 08:34

I think it will only hit home when it directly affects them. Until now, this stuff is happening to other people. Wait till food prices soar in the supermarket.

ShatteredBrianne · 17/07/2019 08:35

Oh and before anyone says 'it's a link to the guardian' therefore will dismiss it, the article has been widely reported in many news sources, with Brexit uncertainty squarely blamed for it.

TheEmpireNoMore · 17/07/2019 08:45

I have been lobbying on here for WA to protect GFA

Maybe, but the existing wording of WA opens the door for UK to be an EU member forever. Hence seen as remain instead of leave.

What it shows is that people shouting "project fear" don't actually understand economics

Or they voted for reasons other than economics.

sionnachbeag · 17/07/2019 08:48

"Maybe, but the existing wording of WA opens the door for UK to be an EU member forever. "

Not really. This would actually not be in the EU's interests at all.

"Or they voted for reasons other than economics."

Like what? Democracy and sovereignty? Nope can't have that cause all of the leave campaigners have bitched and complained about democratic processes and how the sovereign parliament act.

That just leaves us with ignorance and xenophobia.

TheEmpireNoMore · 17/07/2019 08:52

That just leaves us with ignorance and xenophobia

Maybe they were the reasons? Only those who voted leave can know for certain.

bellinisurge · 17/07/2019 08:56

"Maybe, but the existing wording of WA opens the door for UK to be an EU member forever. Hence seen as remain instead of leave."
It's only line that because of the red lines. The fake situation where we pretend that NI is the same as the rest of the UK to protect the NI border. And if that doesn't work, the backstop makes a special agreement for NI alone until such time as a technological solution to the border is found. According to Brexiteers, we already have loads of technological solutions so we could just slot them in and, bingo, once we've had a couple of years' transition- which even Johnson thinks we need - we are all out including NI. Only that's bullshit, there is no technological solution. Not yet.
Border in the sea/NI special economic zone. Sorts all that but the DUP don't like it. And ERG are disaster capitalists who crave No Deal so they are faking a love for DUP.

Dapplegrey · 17/07/2019 09:26

I can only assume they are paid to post here or they are strange people with an awful lot of time on their hands

They certainly have a lot of time on their hands.
Claig I think was accused of being a leaver bot - if there are leavers bots then why shouldn’t there be remainer ones?

bellinisurge · 17/07/2019 09:35

Still waiting for my money 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

sionnachbeag · 17/07/2019 09:51

"They certainly have a lot of time on their hands."

As do most people who post on MN? There are people, like you (pot, kettle) who are here almost every day.

TheElementsSong · 17/07/2019 09:58

Still waiting for my money

You're waiting for your money? I'm waiting for my money and my new penis GrinGrinGrin

1tisILeClerc · 17/07/2019 10:02

{Maybe, but the existing wording of WA opens the door for UK to be an EU member forever. Hence seen as remain instead of leave.}
Maybe it would help if the WA's full title were used, 'Withdrawal from the EU Agreement'. (Act whatever).

People that are retired or semi retired do have time on their hands.
If it wasn't for the leave bastards who have devalued my bank account I would not be on MN but repairing my house.

1tisILeClerc · 17/07/2019 10:03

TheElementsSong
I believe you can hire those!

DGRossetti · 17/07/2019 10:06

Claig I think was accused of being a leaver bot - if there are leavers bots then why shouldn’t there be remainer ones?

Because they'd be spotted a mile off.

All a LeaverBot has to do is post "We won, get over it" and "Taking back control" in any context (as most real Leavers do) and it's job done.

A RemainerBot has to be able to explain every point, answer every question, and engage in every nuance.

sionnachbeag · 17/07/2019 10:35

Claig was only accused of being a bot because she was here all day and all night.

I actually think she was quite possibly someone older, and a bit of a recluse.

Bearbehind · 17/07/2019 10:43

They certainly have a lot of time on their hands.

Says the person who stalks all these threads only to make snide comments and never to actually contribute to the discussion

mummmy2017 · 17/07/2019 10:53

But the WA was May's baby, and I think it was talk and they never got into bed together.... The baby will now never be as May is not there to carry it.. .

1tisILeClerc · 17/07/2019 11:04

{But the WA was May's baby,}
A Withdrawal agreement was always necessary, to define the legislation that exists between the UK and the EU. The legislation is on the statute books and if the UK is leaving, the legislation is either cancelled or amended. In many respects it makes no difference who wrote it whether it was Olly Robbins, Mr Barnier or John from down the pub.
Olly Robbins, presumably represented by D Davies undertook the work from the UK side but Mr Barnier and team were also looking at it from the EU27 point of view.
The WA says what it needs to say. The HoC/cabinet don't like it because there is no cake for the UK. The EU aren't all that keen because some of it is a bit too 'cakey'.

ShatteredBrianne · 17/07/2019 11:47

I'm.just wondering why the OP hasn't returned to the thread.... Hmm
