Hate - You seem to have a real bee in your bonnet about that project Hate.

I shall say this very simply. I did not work on that project. I was paid way less than that. You have ZERO idea of the amount of money the EU put into my region. All regions were different. All third party providers differed and paid different amounts.

The new jobs and people achieving qualifications and moving into work are what HAS to be achieved so that the EU will pay up. If it doesn't happen, they will not pay.

As I said, I DID work in that area. I haven't for the past 10 years. I realise that the truth of what happened in my area may not fit with yours, but it is, nonetheless, exactly what happened.

If People were trained to do a job the EU only paid out once they were in work. They were not in the habit of pissing money up a wall in unverifiable achievements as a box ticking exercise.

Yes, we did help people to obtain funds with their applications. It was in our interests and theirs.

This is again one of those excruciating conversations where you really do not know the full story of what you THINK you know. Your experience DOES NOT equal the total experiences out there. Bizarre that you would think it does Confused

jasjas1973 · 20/07/2019 08:11

You do know OFCOM are investigating

No they are not, they issued a report last year and found no overall bias, they did say they would keep their findings under review and warned the BBC that in this polarised debate, it was very difficult to remain impartial.
They did criticise them for cutting funding to some news programs.

media and telecoms regulator Ofcom – which became BBC complaints watchdog under the new 2017 BBC Charter – has starkly rejected any suggestion of bias in the Corporation’s news and current affairs coverage of Brexit

Once again facts are Kryptonite to Brexitiers.....

Peregrina · 20/07/2019 09:18

Those who are poor and didn't vote for Brexit will turn on those who did.

I have to disagree - it will be those who did vote for Brexit and don't see the benefits who turn on the Remainers for not delivering. After three years the Leavers should be brimming with positive ideas and the means to bring them about.

Instead we have Boris Johnson and his clown act, and lies about Isle of Man kippers.

MyOtherProfile · 20/07/2019 09:21

OFCOM are investigating BBC bias, this is not some fantasy, every paper reported it, MPs also bought it up in the house. In your constant Mummy is wrong attitude your looking so stupid

@mummmy2017 that's pretty funny. Did you see the post by @jasjas1973 just above this?

Mistigri · 20/07/2019 09:32

Amused to see that Hate's mask is slipping.

Facts proving less palatable than polemic.

mummmy2017 · 20/07/2019 09:47

So the report the BBC published about their own bias is wrong...Nice.
That they admitted to loading the audience and agreed to have more people who wished to leave is wrong...
Wow who knew, you can put your wrong down in paper and word and still be right on here....lovely.

mummmy2017 · 20/07/2019 09:49

But in Hates area her facts are right, her experience of current happenings that she personally knowns about.
And your expert has said her experience is ten years out of date....

jasjas1973 · 20/07/2019 10:02

So the report the BBC published about their own bias is wrong...Nice.
That they admitted to loading the audience and agreed to have more people who wished to leave is wrong...

Well, you originally referred to an OFCOM investigation NOT a BBC report on a specific program..... of course BBC individual editors will mess up but OFCOM could find no overall bias.

Please be consistent, changing the goal posts when you are proven to be mistaken could be construed as rather arrogant.

Frankly, the minimum requirement of having £50k available and the ability to pay for any eligible projectbefore LEADER would consider it is too restrictive.

LEADER doesn’t require applicants to have £50k available as a minimum - it requires you to provide 40% of the project cost. Funding levels start at £2.5k and go up to £50-£70k.

And whilst the Landfill Tax funding scheme can be good, you’re only eligible if you’re a not for profit organisation in close proximity to a licensed landfill. Which has pretty much ruled out any project I looked at using the finding for.

ContinuityError · 20/07/2019 10:10

*funding not finding.

1tisILeClerc · 20/07/2019 10:14

Mumsnet is a commercial site biassed towards women, not that this fact is over important in this particular context but it does highlight that bias is everywhere and that you need to inform yourself taking references from far and wide to get a balanced view.
Learning to read news reports and being able to separate the facts from comment is important. News reporting an accident may say 10 people were involved, something that is probably a fact, but claiming to know what caused the accident could be speculation in some cases until the full investigation has taken place.
Everyone is an 'expert' in their own bathroom.

Peregrina · 20/07/2019 10:15

I don't think we know how current HateIs's experience is but she said she'd been 'dormant' for 5 years, so I assume that her experience isn't current either. She asked a straight question - have any of you applied for EU grants and one person said yes, this was my experience. HateIs didn't seem to like the answer, took it personally and said thanks for pointing out how dim she was, which no one had said.

I personally know some extremely stupid Leavers in real life, but it doesn't follow that all Leavers are stupid. I have yet to hear a Leaver in real life articulate a good way forward - they can tell us what is wrong with the EU. They lack a realistic vision for the future, and hence we have had the silly nonsense from David Davis and the like about easy deals, at the same time that their wealthy chums are making sure their money is outside the UK.

mummmy2017 · 20/07/2019 10:17

No, my original post simply said they were bias.
I pointed out OFCOM had investigated.
That MPs had also spoken about it in the house.
The BBC did produce a report and agreed a Charter , which by the way despite appointing an someone to deal with bias they stopped the person working.
They know are the center of another court case.
After OFCOM released the report the BBC were told to update the Charter as they were underperforming.

ContinuityError · 20/07/2019 10:20

Oh and just spotted I transposed the LEADER funding % too - the grant is for up to 40% of project cost for profit making enterprises (although up to 80% for not for profit projects).

1tisILeClerc · 20/07/2019 10:45

ContinuityError
I wouldn't worry, Leavers don't 'do' details.

mummmy2017 · 20/07/2019 10:54

No, we go on wishes and hope, which seems to be working....

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 20/07/2019 11:01

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

1tisILeClerc · 20/07/2019 11:04

Wishing and hope don't put food on the table or prevent the oncoming hostilities with Iran.
Diplomacy and VERY careful negotiation are necessary for the latter, and thorough planning for the former.
'Electing' Boris as PM who is a visible liar* and who has spent years in the Foreign Office insulting all and sundry is NOT a good start.

*He has flipped and flopped and wobbled around on whether he wants to remain, leave or who can tell.

1tisILeClerc · 20/07/2019 11:10

I suppose if the tension in the Gulf can stay contained until the UK leaves, at least when hostilities start the EU wouldn't be automatically dragged in to help. So it will be the USA flying drones from a nice safe bunker in Langley, and the plucky Brits catching casualties.
If the news is up to date, Mr Macron is attempting to calm things down with discussion, and Hunt is sending warships.

mummmy2017 · 20/07/2019 11:12

But Boris it will be. Back wishes and hope.
Basically because I know I am powerless, and can't be bothered to expand energy on something that will have no results.

1tisILeClerc · 20/07/2019 11:33

Ah Boris, the guy that has got the British woman in Iran a few extra years in prison.
The one who was adamant about stopping the extra runway at Heathrow who had to go and 'powder his nose' rather than lie down in fornt of the bulldozers as he had promised.

mummmy2017 · 20/07/2019 11:42

Well it could be Hunt, but both know the only way to save their party is to do as promised and leave, so back to hope.....

bellinisurge · 20/07/2019 11:54

You can clearly do more than wishes and hope. Just nihilistic nonsense. Abdicating responsibility for any aspect of your personal situation isn't healthy.

mummmy2017 · 20/07/2019 12:02

But there is nothing I can do...
I know that...I am fine with that.
Untill we jump one way or the other we are all in Limbo....
Hence the play it by ear...

1tisILeClerc · 20/07/2019 12:15

{But there is nothing I can do...}

You could start to apologise to the people whose lives you are buggering up.
You have done the equivalent of throwing a grenade into a crowded room then are just walking away from it.
I presume you will act all 'hurt' when no one has any respect for you.
