Westminstenders: Indicative Crossiants

RedToothBrush · 26/03/2019 18:23

Tomorrow the Indicative debate starts at 3pm

The Speaker will choose options to go to vote.

Vote at 7pm for yes or no for each option.

7.30pm The SI debate on extension followed by vote.

Announcement of the indicative vote sometime between 8.15pm and 9.30pm

Meanwhile the DUP have indicated they would prefer a long delay (and presumably EU elections by default) rather than May's deal, in a strange twist of Brexit.

Thanks for the explanation Lonelytiredandlow!

That's what worries me too NowordforFluffy!

Adam Bienkov @AdamBienkov
Boris Johnson has previously described Theresa May's Brexit deal as "appalling," a "humiliation," and a "historic mistake," which would turn Britain into "a colony," of the EU.

Now he has told Tory MPs that he will vote for it.

Boris always speaks for the media it’s all games

notangelinajolie · 27/03/2019 18:45

I'm a bit confused. How can May bring WA back to vote on it when Berkow said this afternoon it has to pass his test? It hasn't changed so how else can she bring it ?

He will allow it. No man is bigger than Parliament - no matter what size his ego,

wheresmymojo · 27/03/2019 18:45

Boris is such a hypocritical cockwomble.

Funny how the WA looks appealing when it gives him an opportunity for leadership Hmm

If the WA passes May will most likely be replaced by a harder Brexiter. There's no equivalent of the MV for the future trade deal/relationship so presumably we'll end up cutting all ties anyway?

I guess at least we'd have another two years....or could the new PM terminate the WA early?

ERG now “collapsing” says one of their MPs - Says dozens of colleagues now preparing to back deal

I'm begining to feel that the idea of setting up indicative votes was just a way to convince everyone to vote for WA. Letwin says he will vote for it so is it a set up?

woman19 · 27/03/2019 18:50

'Collapsing Erg' sounds like a band name from the late 1980s.

Random18 · 27/03/2019 18:51

Looking at Buzzfeed 57 still to go.

How can any of them hold their head up. Scandalous behaviour

ERG now “collapsing” says one of their MPs
I think Peregrina predicted exactly this about 2 years ago?

The80sweregreat · 27/03/2019 18:54

If my MP voted this through after being everywhere saying how bad it is I hope he gets a kicking at the next GE!
I don't vote for him but lots do.

The80sweregreat · 27/03/2019 18:56

Red, Boris lying! Who'd thought it eh?

My head hurts. I've no idea what's going on.
Think we'll all be in bed in the next half hour.

Bloody DUP ridiculous

JessicaPeach · 27/03/2019 18:58

Just saw on sky news that there are a lot of Tory mps may stand down in protest if boris Johnson becomes leader. If labour went on to win those seats in the bi elections could that mean labour get a majority without a general election? What happens in that scenario?!

LonelyTiredandLow · 27/03/2019 18:58

Patrick Wintour

@patrickwintour
A consequence of May's likely resignation is that the unresolved question of Britain's future relations with Europe, to be negotiated in phase 2 of talks, will largely be decided on hustings in a Tory Party leadership contest. Fewer than 120,000 deciding on behalf of 46m.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/03/2019 18:58

Surely the DUP won't fold?

I'm still baffled how they're planning to go straight to WAIB! Confused

The80sweregreat · 27/03/2019 18:58

The DUP are the lynch pin here. Lapping it up! They play hard ball.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/03/2019 18:59

Ooh. That's an interesting scenario, Jessica!

ContinuityError · 27/03/2019 18:59

Boris sees a way of toppling May and making his move.

Epic dishonest lying twattery.

LonelyTiredandLow · 27/03/2019 18:59

But the last thing we need is all of the moderates leaving if Boris becomes PM!

OublietteBravo · 27/03/2019 18:59

I think keeping Treeza might be in the DUPs interest though. I bet lots of Tories are secretly hoping the DUP will block the WA - they’d make a convenient scapegoat..,
