A week of wondering which MP is going to be the most dumb.

There is stiff competition between parties and remain / leave.

Expect incredible bids of ignorance and incompetence to curl your toes, with a bit of constitutional craziness thrown in for good measure.

Valentine's Day beckons...

... And so does the No Deal Divorce.

Steps I somehow imagine you aren't a feminist.
Are you as concerned for the women killed by their male partners/ex partners or abused by 'non gang' paedophiles? Because it seems the gangs are actually easier to catch...

Some gangs were operating for 20+ years.

TM either has a tremendously cunning plan she’s carefully hidden from the rest of the world. Or she’s completely cuckoo. Or maybe she’s a parrot who keeps repeating herself. Over and over again.

usuallydormant · 12/02/2019 14:44

Please, please don't be derailed by someone so uninformed about Brexit that they think the Swiss border could work for NI. I keep meaning to take pictures of the men with guns looking into my car when I cross into Geneva but am guessing they wouldn't be too happy about it....

steps genuine question, do you vote ukip? Support BNP? Your word choices are very coded and i am familiar with the style.

BackInTime · 12/02/2019 14:48

I always thought Mr May had a big influence on many of the decisions TM makes Hmm I suspect he is the only one in the country who actually knows what is going on inside her head.

PestyMachtubernahme · 12/02/2019 14:49

Richard Mabey should be compulsory reading.

Re Thursday and the meaningful vote. No its no longer the meaningful vote as far as I'm aware. Leadsom said on the radio that was now 21st March.

I think there is opportunity to vote on amendments on Thursday though this week.

So another replay of a fortnight ago with zero progress made.

I'm still waiting with bated breath but not too bated as I want to live for the link to the 500 page Brexit White Paper which would answer all my questions and provide necessary reassurance and which, according to Stepladders07 , we are deliberately ignoring. Confused

I'd love to be reassured and would love to read this document, but despite many many requests from many many people, Stepladders07 has yet to provide a link to it.

Make of that what you will. Hmm

So whose opinions should carry weight and be respected? Those that provide links to reputable sources to back up their assertions or those that make assertions and never despite repeated requests provide links? Hmm

....We're still waiting (and have been now for days) Wink

Jesus christ. Somone doesn't agree with you and they support the fucking BNP?

in the last GE I voted Tory as the previous Labour incumbent made me sick to my stomach.

You're paranoid as fuck if you thinking I'm "coding" my words.

JHC.

TheABC · 12/02/2019 14:56

This is starting to look less like incompetence and more like active wickedness. May appears ready to crash the economy just to keep her party intact. I don't have a clue what Corbyn is thinking.

prettybird · 12/02/2019 14:56

True pesty Grin

I was going to suggest that we would stop asking if he/she admitted that he/she had been mistaken and that such a White Paper did not exist.

But I doubt that he/she has enough humility Hmm

Conservative Group for Europe@ConsEurope

....Mrs Thatcher always knew how to get a good deal in Europe,
but more fundamentally she knew that Britain was better off because of the EU!

http://www.brusselstimes.com/eu-affairs/14055/ey-to-move-parent-company-from-london-to-brussels

The European parent company for the international audit and consultancy group, EY, is leaving London to set up in Brussels.

The Belgian Institute of Company Auditors (the IRE) has thus received an approval application from EY, for a new legal management entity for all of the EY subsidiary companies based within the EU.

The decision follows the increasingly likely prospect of a “hard Brexit”.
EY must have an audit licence within at least one member state, to be able to manage and supervise its various audit companies within the other EU member states.

step

So sorry for the misunderstanding there step, I did not mean a super literal coded language as secret meanings but a looser definition. You use polite turns of phrase instead of out and out saying what you mean. It's very popular amoungst BNP and ukip supporters and members... but as you've indirectly suggested the right of the conservatives actually overlaps with ukip now which I keep forgetting!

StepLadders007 · 12/02/2019 15:07

Please, for the love of god, show me an example of "polite turns of phrase" and how it could mean I support the BNP.

Have you listened to yourself?

I use "polite turns of phrase" as I'm trying to be clever (yes, I know, I fail) and not because I'm a fecking racist.

Hazards · 12/02/2019 15:10

step I never said you were racist Smile where did I say you were racist?

Missbel · 12/02/2019 15:10

I'd wondered how much Philip May was influencing TM, so the newspaper articles above make interesting, depressing reading. If she had any moral sense, she would be looking to combine moderate opinion across the board to get a majority for a deal, rather than putting party first. But then as far as I'm concerned, soundbites about creating an inhospitable environment for immigrants already told me she doesn't have a moral compass. Her supposed Christianity is just hypocrisy.

This Brexshit mess is such a waste of time when we should be looking at other issues - addressing poverty, education (clearly some big gaps there), food and energy supplies for the future, over-population, the Sixth extinction and above all climate change. Angry

Well, that made me laugh this afternoon at least.

DGRossetti · 12/02/2019 15:12

you utter buffoon.

Nice to have a slightly higher standard of insult in this echo chamber Grin

DGRossetti · 12/02/2019 15:13

People need to use blithering idiot a bit more, too ...

jasjas1973 · 12/02/2019 15:13

Tories and ukip are one in the same thing now, Mays drive to leave the EU, her policies on immigration and no internal opposition, leave no doubt.
She couldn't even be bothered to turn up and visit the survivors of Grenfell.
