Westminstenders: Competitive Stupidity

RedToothBrush · 10/02/2019 16:00

A week of wondering which MP is going to be the most dumb.

There is stiff competition between parties and remain / leave.

Expect incredible bids of ignorance and incompetence to curl your toes, with a bit of constitutional craziness thrown in for good measure.

Valentine's Day beckons...

... And so does the No Deal Divorce.

I'm really tired.

PerverseConverse · 10/02/2019 16:06

Thanks @RedToothBrush.
I'm really tired too. This shit show is taking a lot of my mental energy.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 10/02/2019 16:10

Who knows what we’ll get on the 14th....

PMK, thanks Red.

(I’m sick of it all too Hazards)

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 10/02/2019 16:11

PMK. Thanks Red.

Destiel · 10/02/2019 16:11

Thanks red

So, so tired.

But still here.

prettybird · 10/02/2019 16:12

Were we not supposed to be getting a "meaningful" vote? Hmm

Royal flatfish floor covering. Wink

SwedishEdith · 10/02/2019 16:13

Place marking and pissed off with it all as well. Pissed off that I don't have the mental energy to read for pleasure anymore. Would love to only have to worry if these boots went with this dress.

prettybird · 10/02/2019 16:13

That was to Whatthefoxgoingon in response to her question as to what we'll get on the 14th Shock

RedToothBrush · 10/02/2019 16:16

I'm just in the pub drowning sorrows.

It's good beer though. And local.

PMK, 'cos not much is happening today'.

As not much is going on on the Brexit front, here is an interesting read about our French version of the no-deal-brexiter on the street:

www.theguardian.com/world/2019/feb/09/who-really-are-the-gilets-jaunes

This journalist knows France and I think this is a very fair and intelligent piece. The only thing that is missing is a discussion of the way the Paris protests (in particular) have been hijacked by far right and Russian elements including a number of ex-French military who have fought on the Russian side in separatist battles in Ukraine.

megletthesecond · 10/02/2019 16:28

I'm relieved it's not just me who feels drained by it.
40-something days to go and nothing is in place.

wheresmymojo · 10/02/2019 16:30

PMK

Whatthefoxgoingon · 10/02/2019 16:30

Were we not supposed to be getting a "meaningful" vote?

Ah but will we, pretty bird? I wouldn’t put it past the lying toads to delay it again...or have they already and I missed it

PerverseConverse · 10/02/2019 16:37

Is there a vote on Thursday for something? I've lost track.

prettybird · 10/02/2019 16:39

I was being sarcastic Whatthefoxgoingon - the last I hard, it had been delayed to the 27th February or even later Shock

I have a suspicion that the Cooper-Boles Bill/amendment will be coming back to the HoC with renewed impetus, given the way that the Government is deliberately out of desperation trying to sideline and bully Parliament.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 10/02/2019 16:41

Well there you have it.

prettybird · 10/02/2019 16:42

"the last I heard " Blush

pointythings · 10/02/2019 16:42

I'm baking, doing paperwork and watching DD2 be happy with her GF. I need a day off from Brexit.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 10/02/2019 16:47

Excellent autocorrect prettybird

LonelyandTiredandLow · 10/02/2019 16:51

I've been lent a copy of The Women's Room to take my mind of Brexit Grin. I did try to explain I feel a bit like I did when I was pg - I couldn't take in anything that wasn't related to pregnancy or childcare.

I'll give it a bash though!

LonelyandTiredandLow · 10/02/2019 16:52
