That's all really.

Was still naively hoping the prospect of losing the under 25s vote may pull him back, but he's clearly far to far gone for that.

Have been a lifelong Labour voter and we have a fantastic Labour MP here. Still, I cannot see me ever voting for them again.

This election will turn corbyn to dust but can moderates replace him with the party rules about joining? Has momentum got too big a hold of the party?

Cybergenesis · 02/12/2019 21:33

Corbyn has some serious issues but he's NOT Boris Johnson so right now he's the best choice

GlassOfPort · 03/12/2019 13:57

Corbyn's Christmas list is full of fantastic things (no university fees, substantial state ownership of utilities) that the rest of Europe manages to pay for, including countries that have centre/centre-right governments.

I agree with @Cybergenesis: the man is a poor leader but Labour is the best option right now (unless you leave in a complicated marginal seat, in which case this may help: tactical.vote/compare)

Pan2 · 04/12/2019 12:19

Fuck me, this is a really depressing thread. Otherwise intelligent people, inviting a Tory govt due to not liking Jeremy Corbyn. Are you for real??

It's almost as if the thread is sponsored by the Tory Party.

Pan2 · 04/12/2019 12:20

His manifesto is like a kids christmas list full of fantastic things that everyone wants but no fucking way of paying for it with out years off payday loans.

That is just ill-informed bullshit. From a tory.

BertrandRussell · 04/12/2019 12:22

So people would let the Tories in because they don’t like the Labour leader? Fuck me, some people are thick!

Coppersulphate · 04/12/2019 13:37

No Bertrand,
Some people are "letting the Tories in" because we think they are much better for the country, will sort Brexit and will not be bankrupting the country.

I like that people are showing their utter ignorance. Clearly not read the (uncosted) Tory manifesto and clearly unaware of the ballooning debt under the Tories since 2010.

Why not just own up to the fact that you don’t like the idea of a society where more people have better opportunities? That you are comfortable with rising poverty and that you think children deserve to live in shitty temporary accommodation?

At least own it for gods sake. Instead of regurgitating headlines from the right wing press.

Pan2 · 04/12/2019 14:49

Coppersulphate, you appear to be determined to ignore the evidences of your own eyes and ears. Sort brexit and not bankrupt the country indicates your absence of any critical thought. Or just an absence of a sense of care toward others. Reprehensible.

Coppersulphate · 04/12/2019 14:56

Oh no, Pan2,
Just because I don't agree with you does not mean I am ignorant.
It means that I don't believe all of labour's new trees will be money trees.
And I don't like Corbyn's cosying up with terrorits like hezbollah, hamas and the IRA.
And I am not anti Semitic

Pan2 · 04/12/2019 15:34

Crumbs. As I say, no critical thought. Or care for others.

GlassOfPort · 04/12/2019 15:45

Copper,
bearing in mind that Brexit will also be very expensive (especially the no-deal sort that Johnson seems to favour), which Labour pledge explicitley bothers you? More investement in the school and hospitals? Railway nationalisation (which has the potential to bring in revenue, as demonstrated by the profitability of the East Cost line under public ownership?)

jasjas1973 · 05/12/2019 09:26

The Tories have done a fantastic job in convincing people that they are a new administration and nothing to do with the previous tory government that has been in for almost 10 years.

Its bit like when Trump told a rally that he would build a wall between Colorado (400 miles away) and Mexico and his base all cheered & clapped.
Or a friend of mine who wants to retire to Portugal, voted Brexit and will vote Tory..... believes nothing will change.....

Anyhow, Cons will win with at least a 50 seat majority.... its a great pity JC didn't step aside a few months ago because he will on 13th December.

TatianaLarina · 05/12/2019 10:22

I think Corbyn’s an idiot, but there’s no fucking way I’d vote Tory.

TatianaLarina · 05/12/2019 10:23

its a great pity JC didn't step aside a few months ago because he will on 13th December.

It’s a great pity he didn’t fuck off when his party tried to get rid of him.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 05/12/2019 10:28

The Conservatives have brought this country to its knees. There are millions living in poverty, over 100,000 children without a permanent home, NHS waiting lists are at their worst levels ever, and street homeless people are dying every single day.

But they're going to "get Brexit done", whatever the fuck that means. They're going to wilfully make people worse off. Oh and they're also going to "review" the role of the courts in holding the government to account. So basically they're looking at ways to curtail our rights.

How low have we sunk that this is acceptable?

MockersFactCheckMN · 05/12/2019 17:39

It seems the eager young Momentumites are having trouble on the doorsteps selling their man to a sceptical nation.

I'm getting a nearworm:

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 11:57

Seems even Jonathon Ashworth, shadow health minister agrees with you OP! 😉

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 11/12/2019 13:21

Excerpt from above linked article...

“More than 100 victims of IRA bombings have written to Jeremy Corbyn demanding a meeting and seeking an apology for what they see as his historic sympathies for terrorists.

In a letter the families call on the Labour leader and shadow chancellor John McDonnell “to hear first hand about the lasting impact of terrorism on innocent families”.”

CendrillonSings · 11/12/2019 13:22

Good afternoon, Jeremy - have an extra Fuck You from me! Grin

MysteryTripAgain · 13/12/2019 07:39

Labours refusal to say whether or not they were a leave or remain party cost them the election.

It was estimated that 60% of labour voters supported leave in the 2016 referendum. A quick look at the seats lost in labour heartlands proves that Brexit was key in this election.

So after 3 years of attempting to sabotage the will of the people Boris now has a big majority to get Brexit done and finally rid the UK of Brussels dictatorship.

So pleased that Jo Swinson lost her seat. The most undemocratic person ever to draw breath.

Hope all remainers are finally convinced that leavers had never changed their minds.

MockersFactCheckMN · 13/12/2019 07:49

I think, "Now Fuck Off Jeremy Corbyn" is the message of the moment.

Songsofexperience · 13/12/2019 08:04

finally rid the UK of Brussels dictatorship.

FGS it's not a dictatorship.

Channel your energy on watching how our government performs. With the EU gone as convenient scapegoat, they have nowhere to hide.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 13/12/2019 08:17

“I think, "Now Fuck Off Jeremy Corbyn" is the message of the moment.”

😂😂😂😂😂

Personally I’m of the ‘get to fuck’ persuasion, but that would just be splitting hairs... 🤷🏻‍♀️😂
