Been reading all these threads on here about Brexit and just wondered if anyone voted Leave?
Fwiw, I did.
If you voted Leave what do you anticipate will happen before 29/03?

Dont be shy, I can't be the only Leaver on here!Smile

@scorpio32 I am absolutely convinced that No Deal would be a car crash. As is Leaver Michael Gove.
I am sure we face difficult economic times ahead. I am sure that the EU is a major economic trading bloc. I am sure being part of a major economic trade bloc in such circumstances is better than not being.
Other people take a different view. As long as we avoid No Deal, I can accept WA to concede to their view that we should be outside the EU.

PerverseConverse · 10/01/2019 10:35

Well we'll have an EU country bordered with a non-EU country and surely there will be rules about how that border is managed?

scorpio32 · 10/01/2019 10:35

"both the UK and EU could work together to repair the other problems together"

Hahahahahahhahahahahah - that's hilarious.

surferjet · 10/01/2019 10:36

The Brexit arms shut down due to constant harassment from remainers.

Nothing has changed.

bellinisurge · 10/01/2019 10:37

@PerverseConverse , if you think that any kind of sniff of an actual physical border in NI is an ok thing you are probably too young to remember what it was like before. And why GFA is worth protecting.
If solving the NI border is so easy we won't even need the backstop so what are Leavers so afraid of?

bellinisurge · 10/01/2019 10:39

"Constant harassment" is code for being asked questions and then wondering why people are pissed off with your inability to answer them.

surferjet · 10/01/2019 10:41

Stop asking then - ever thought of that?

@surferjet - not asking questions is for tyrannies.
I'm sure none of us wants that.

PerverseConverse · 10/01/2019 10:46

@bellinisurge I'm 42 and had brothers stationed in NI when I was 11-14 so was very aware of the Troubles going on but too young to know the politics involved. It's something I'll read up about as I know not a lot about the GFA. I've only become interested in politics in the last couple of years and trying my best to understand things beyond the basic BBC reporting. I ask lots of questions because my knowledge is limited and I just don't see a way to solve the Irish border issue. Is there a solution that won't cause harm?

surferjet · 10/01/2019 10:49

BorisBogtrotter

How low can you go.
Calling someone’s child thick.
You repulse me.

@PerverseConverse - there is a solution. Sadly it didn't prevail in the referendum. The WA is the only reasonable one I can see.
And @BorisBogtrotter , that was a bit out of order if my opinion matters.

surferjet · 10/01/2019 10:54

I’m crying.
She has hurt me so much.
Atrack me not my child.

bellinisurge · 10/01/2019 10:55

@scorpio32 - I don't think leavers are thick. I think supporting No Deal is daft and have no qualms in expecting its supporters to justify their view.

BorisBogtrotter · 10/01/2019 10:56

I didn't call your son thick.

I repeated the theme of your argument for why you voted leave.

scorpio32 · 10/01/2019 10:57

Anyway, back to mocking remainers. I was wondering when someone was going to bring up the unsolveable irish border.

That's always a good one, because if you suggest that a hard border is actually not so bad they will scream that it will be the return to the bad old days, and if you suggest using technology they'll scream that it's impossible.

QueenOfIce · 10/01/2019 10:58

I don't know why people get so angry and feel it is their right to abuse another for having a different point of view. Some remainers really are quite nasty, it's the 'I'm right, you're wrong' attitude. No one actually knows what is going to happen, spreading fear based on the opinions of others who also cannot say with absolute certainty what is going to happen. The UK really doesn't need such a divide amongst people at this time.

bellinisurge · 10/01/2019 10:58

@scorpio32 , I would be happy for a technological solution but even an ANPR camera breaks GFA.

PerverseConverse · 10/01/2019 11:00

@BorisBogtrotter where did surfer say that about her son? Was it on another thread?

Bearbehind · 10/01/2019 11:00

boris did not called surfers child thick and surfer has said exactly what boris quoted.

She wants less immigrants because her child is not as academically gifted as some so she wants to reduce the competition..

BorisBogtrotter · 10/01/2019 11:01

"and if you suggest using technology they'll scream that it's impossible."

The technology doesn't exist so is impossible.

The Irish border is a major issue and belittling it shows you lack an understanding of the issues.

scorpio32 · 10/01/2019 11:01

Then change the GFA to facilitate this. Call it GFA II. Bung 'em a few more billions from the magic money tree if they get narky.

BorisBogtrotter · 10/01/2019 11:02

"Then change the GFA to facilitate this. "

Unilaterally? Without negotiation?

bellinisurge · 10/01/2019 11:02

BorisB crossed a line and I have also reported it.
I am not screaming at Leavers. I have said that there is no current technology that fixes the "problem" of the GFA . The WA is the closest we can get and I support it as the least worst version of Leave.
That's what you call a compromise. You should try it sometime.
