{May as Leader Means May as Leader!}
Furby has new batteries.

Hazard I think you are being too rigid in your thinking. Croissant meaning croissant ought to allow a little diversity surely as in truth it could be merged with a spot of chocolate. Obviously not in France of course but then some of them eat snails so who knows what is in their minds.

Does this make No Deal more likely?

Alwaysbekind2014 · 12/12/2018 21:38

But it’s proof that she will never pass the deal so what now we will end up with a no deal anyway

My birthday is the 25th of March I might throw one last big party maybe European themed !

Alwaysbekind2014 · 12/12/2018 21:38

Yes that’s how I see it
If 117 tories bored against her that is enough to show with the other parties there isn’t much hope if any in her passing this deal

MissMalice · 12/12/2018 21:39

I thought it made no deal less likely.

GD12 · 12/12/2018 21:42

I don't think May would go through with a hard Brexit. I thihk she's too sensible. She won't get her deal through parliament and the backstop wont/can't change. That surely only leaves a GE or a 2nd referendum.

jasjas1973 · 12/12/2018 21:43

Me too but i've never thought no-deal was a realistic possibility.

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2018 21:47

and Mogg is the undead from the 19 th century

JuneFromBethesda · 12/12/2018 21:49

Did anyone else see Rees Mogg being interviewed just now? 😂

JuneFromBethesda · 12/12/2018 21:49

I want to go down to Parliament Green and buy the person with the placard a pint 😄

Butterymuffin · 12/12/2018 21:51

There he is now reanimating on Sky News! They're calling him 'leader of the ERG' as if it's an actual job, not a made up position of pseudo authority.

GD12 That's what I'm hoping. It makes a second referendum yet more likely.

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2018 21:51

No Deal would have been a certainty if the ERG had managed to force her out and replace her with one of their own

However, she - and we - are safe for a year from that

She'll keep trying to get her WA passed,
but if she can't, I expect she'll go for a PV with that WA vs Remain and / or No Deal

umpteennamechanges · 12/12/2018 21:52

@Alwaysbekind2014 I have a Brexshit Commiseration Party planned for the Saturday of Brexit weekend.

European themed food and drink Grin

Apileofballyhoo · 12/12/2018 21:52

Place marking in case something even more crazy happens overnight.

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2018 21:52

The ERG is funded by the parliamentary allowances of its members,
i.e. by taxpayers 🤔

umpteennamechanges · 12/12/2018 21:56

I also think May will try, and fail, to get the WA through and then we'll go to a PV.

TBH there's no mandate for anything in Parliament so I think it's the only way this can end now.

Talkinpeece · 12/12/2018 21:56

Groundhog day

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2018 21:57

Downing St bigging up the win:
“One more vote than the PM got in the original leadership election”.

Eyewhisker · 12/12/2018 21:58

I see that JRM isn’t respecting the vote or the will of MPs......

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2018 21:58

Tim Shipman@ShippersUnbound

Given that the ERG struggled three weeks ago to get 48 people to write letters, to more than double up in a day is no mean feat
< snigger >

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2018 21:59

"You lost, JRM, get over it !"

1tisILeClerc · 12/12/2018 22:00

{Mrs May has seen off the no confidence vote but must now achieve the seemingly impossible - she must secure concessions from EU leaders to change the withdrawal agreement.
Without them, the deal she has negotiated with the EU is dead on arrival whenever it is put before the Commons.}
From SKY website.
Bloody entitled UK doowaps!
No the WA is fine, the UK needs to accept it and make the best negotiations it can AFTER 29 March.
Until the UK learns it is not 'special' it will forever be a corrosive element in the EU.

ClashCityRocker · 12/12/2018 22:03

I'm also beginning to think a people's vote is looking more and more likely.

Although I think people are being optimistic about the risk of no deal.

As far as I know, it doesn't actually matter what faffing goes on in Parliament, if we get to the 29th march still in the same deadlock, we crash out. No deal is still the default position.

There's a part of me thinks that they'll revoke before no deal but that may be a triumph of hope over experience.

ClashCityRocker · 12/12/2018 22:05

Oh ffs.

How many ways can it be said?

There is no renegotiating the withdrawal agreement. Why are the media playing into the idea that there is?
