bellini Same here.

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2018 18:26

Yup, peregrina
but some hardcore Leavers on both the hard left & hard right will sacrifice anything to get Brexit,
because it is their once in a century chance to get elected during their hoped for chaos of a Britiish Weimar state

bellini I despise Corbyn for his antisemitism, his support for the TRA agenda
and his cosying up to terrorists - yes, I've been observing him since 1983 when he was elected MP and he really did do that. Several times.

The actual policies of Labour look standard European socialist / SPD,
except for the unicorn lies abour renegotiating Brexit without a backstop.

asked what numbers that meant he said ‘I studied English, not maths’. 🤔

PM to 1922: “In my heart I would have loved to have led us into the next election, but I realise that we will need a new leader with new objectives for the 2022 election.”

< so quite likely to lead the party if the DUP force a GE before 29 March >

Peregrina · 12/12/2018 18:33

Photo ID !

Now, I like that. A taste of their own medicine. They want to introduce photo ID for elections to disenfranchise non Tory voters stop fraud.
I hope some get turned away without the correct ID and when they find it are told that they are too late and have missed the vote! (As long as it's the stupid ERG types, of course, or Boris Johnson, or nasty old deadwood Redwood.)

The Tory leadership challenge is like whichever silent film it was which had two people squabbling over who gets to drive a car as heads over a cliff before the steering wheel comes off and they start squabbling over that.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2018 18:34

Beth Rigby@bethrigby
From a Brexiteer source: Nigel Dodds has confirmed that no significant progress has been made today between PM and DUP contrary to what PM told 1922.

Hmmph - he should be forced to sit the new Maths GCSEs that he forced on everyone.🤔

What has happened with all the chatter over the summer of a centerist remain party formed from the moderates from each party without the taint of the Lib Dems having cosied too close to the devil.

Peregrina · 12/12/2018 18:37

Do we get to see a list of who voted, and who abstained?

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2018 18:37

peregrina We also need to stop their salaries, dividends, directorship fees, lecture fees, journalist fees ...
without that ID

all of which illustrates how impossible it is for them to empathise with those on UC even if they wanted

  • they are all so well-off and usually from multiple, totally secure sources.

Eurosceptic MPs still think they are on course for a rebellion by at least 80 Tory MPs against the PM, although they admit they are unlikely to win.

They view the 80 figure is significant because it represents half of Tory MPs who aren't on payroll or in party roles.
......

Harry Yorke@HarryYorke1

Interesting. Of the 168 MPs that have publicly declared they will back Theresa May in the confidence vote, 76 of them are on the Government payroll.

Given that there are around 150 in government in total, suggests PM is heading for a big victory.

< can moderate MPs count any better than ERG, or are all Tories innumerate ? >

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2018 18:42

Robert Peston @peston
Here is how to interpret no-confidence result. 130 votes against @theresa_may, she is in dire trouble. 100 against “nothing has changed”. 80 against “strong and stable” (ish).

Tweets like this make me fear. The presumption that she will win with this certainty.

I don't put it past them..

Any deal will have a backstop

Any PM, whether May, ERG bastard or Corbyn bastard, now or in 5 years, will have these same choices:

WA with backstop / No Deal / Revoke & Remain

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2018 18:46

Yup, we don't know who will secretly betray May

  • or who will be too drunk to vote the way they meant
Hazardswan · 12/12/2018 18:47

Crossiants are ready. The people voted for crossiants and that is what i delivered. There will be no jelly or ice cream. We will control how flakey our crossiants are. I took control of the oven temperature. Obviously France will want to buy our British crossiants. They are pronounced cross-eye-ants. I expect a trade deal to follow.

Enjoy.

Two Brexiteer MPs have told me more than 100 MPs will say that have no confidence in the PM. One said it would be around 120 another said "I would not be surprised if it is more than 100". #Toryleadership
