Only 1 rule.

I believe Mr Farage has become Herr Farage. I have a feeling if he puts a certain uniform on and marches around enough he can be arrested in Germany. Some might get upset at this prospect.

frumpety · 11/09/2018 19:59

Nice and slow to allow the older amongst us to gently warm up before we get giddy with

Remember it is reach for the EU stars Wink

time4chocolate · 11/09/2018 20:10

1tis no way😮!! I think you are having me on with your bollocks again.

I am off to google now (I’m hoping not to have to return offering up sincere apologies for doubting you Wink)

Hazard I see Farage more as a wrestling man myself , waxing his back, sack and crack and donning a perma tan and sequins. I reckon I could have him in the ring ( of the wrestling variety ) , couple of smart manoeuvres and then pin him down with my elasticated slacks and waterfall cardigan Grin

"WTO law is plain – it mandates seamless border procedures and outlaws discrimination on standards."

Does that mean we HAVE to accept chlorinated chicken?
Just asking for me & 16.4 million friends.

1tisILeClerc · 11/09/2018 20:26

FWIW, it is illegal to wear Nazi clothing or medals in Germany. (Wiki)
Mr Farage's wife and 2 children are German. His status as German passport holder or not seems unknown. (Also Wiki)
Basic WTO rules say that any rules for one must apply to all. When leaving it would then be up to the UK to decide on labeling of goods. Dropping rules for labeling may allow chlorinated chicken to appear on shelves possibly with 'limited' information.

Buteo · 11/09/2018 20:31

Farage supporting far right fascists?

Niiiiiiice.

ragged · 11/09/2018 20:36

The Brexit Central plan is written so badly, it's taking me a while to figure out, edited down:

[Tariffs] will have a negative effect on the EU, not on us [because] when we leave the EU we will sign FTAs with many countries around the world from whom we will therefore buy at world prices with no tariffs imposed from our side.

Apart from benefiting our consumers, this creates strong competition in our home market between all producers, whether domestic or foreign. EU producers are no exception; they will have to meet these prices to sell anything much here at all.

So EU will sell less to UK & UK will sell less to EU, right? That's the upshot. Tell me where bears defecate again?

I love how lightly they skip over how UK producers will have to match world prices to compete domestically. Since that's not going to be possible for many products, I wonder what will happen to those UK producers. hmmm

10degreestostarboard · 11/09/2018 20:36

Buteo

Farage supports the Labour Party?

My mistake - those are far left fascists

We don't need standards, what we need is "variety"! Who knew.

This is the sort of sentence my 16yo wrote because she thought (knew) it would get her high marks on GCSE English. I'm trying to unteach her now. 5 clauses in one sentence:

If we liberalised [regulatory standards] to permit goods from non-EU countries to be sold [in UK], we would not discriminate against EU imports – they would be free to impose their own current EU standards, which would also meet our new liberalised standards which would be more embracing of variety from around the world.

Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of radical authoritarian ultranationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy, which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

Sounds fab , sign me up Hmm

10degrees (or should I say Hey or Francine?)

I seem to remember Leavers being quite up in arms about nobody doing anything to complain about Orbán a while ago.

Now he’s a lovely bloke cos Nigeria says so.

Apology alert for 1tis**

Bird poo coffee is an actual thing, fortunately it’s quite expensive so I wouldn’t have inadvertently bought it from my local Sainsbury's.

If anyone is thinking of staying 5* in Thailand for their hols might want to give the black ivory coffee a swerve!!

Anyway more importantly I have just seen this and had a mild palpitation, that could have been a game changer for me Wink

However, it looks like they are putting in the necessary forward planning (I may double up on my Easter egg purchases just in case!).

Mrslifecrisis · 11/09/2018 21:34

10degrees DH is from NI (Derry). The wife of a close friend of his brother, who was seven months pregnant with twins, was murdered in the Omagh bombing along with her mother and 18 month old daughter.
My 83 year old MIL is petrified about a return to the violence that she and her children grew up with.
You don’t give a fuck. You think that risking a return to that is a price worth paying for.....what exactly?

10degreestostarboard · 11/09/2018 21:46

Mrslifecrisis

Come down from your high horse and tell me when I suggested any of that

All I have said is that we shouldn’t be blackmailed (by the eu) for the sake of ni.

You are putting words in my mouth

SacrebleuLondres · 11/09/2018 21:48

@10degreestostarboard

Not sure what you mean.

You are perhaps aware that any border infrastructure of any kind in Ireland is illegal according to U.K. law?

UnnecessaryFennel · 11/09/2018 21:54

You said that NI was 'expendable'. Your exact word. Repulsive attitude.

bellinisurge · 11/09/2018 21:58

"Northern Ireland (like Scotland come to that) is expendable if needs be."
Is what you said @10degreestostarboard on this thread this afternoon. Horrible.

SacrebleuLondres · 11/09/2018 22:01

@bellinisurge

This @10degreestostarboard person is ignorant and angry.

The UK won't build any border infrastructure in Ireland. We've just passed legislation that prevents that.

I hope peace remains in Ireland in any case. I understand people are working hard to prevent a flare up.

bellinisurge · 11/09/2018 22:03

Let's carry on without the BeLeaver bollocks.
Absinthe, anyone?
