Brexit

Have your frienships and family relationships suffered as a result of Brexit?

Just that, really. If friends and/ or family members have clearly voted differently to you, has it changed the way you see them or interact with them? Have friendships broken down?

I haven't been able to vote, but the outcome of the vote affects me disproportionately. Family members have voted Leave. There have been arguments, also between friends, some ended in loss of contact.

I wonder how the Brexit vote has affected others on here?

What has that got to do with the EU? Confused

Moussemoose · 04/09/2018 17:25

@Wholymoley and your point about the EU is?

Wholymoley · 04/09/2018 17:29

Oh obviously nothing at all 😂

1tisILeClerc · 04/09/2018 17:37

@Wholeymoley
For a start your assertion of 'hordes' is a very unpleasant expression.
The UK is a Sovereign nation and always has been able to control immigration. This is irrespective of being in the EU or out.
The territories you mention are Not EU anyway so completely irrelevant to the debate about Brexit. Most if not all EU countries have restrictions on FoM, being in the line of 3 months of self sufficiency while finding work or you leave. The UK did not bother to adopt this policy. If it was felt necessary it could possibly have been made even tougher. It simply wasn't.
Organising funding for schools and all other infrastructure is ENTIRELY down to the Sovereign UK government and any failings to do this properly are completely down to them.

Wholymoley · 04/09/2018 17:45

Oh dear!
Oxford English Dictionary definition of horde.

Answer: A large group of people

What is offensive about that 1tisILeClerc?

1tisILeClerc · 04/09/2018 17:53

While the dictionary definition may be that simple, the way that it is generally used is that of undesirability.
The remainder of your post was simply goading and clearly without thought.

prettybird · 04/09/2018 17:55

Not surprisingly Wholeymoly hasn't included the full definition of "horde" from the Oxford dictionary Confused. But maybe he or she doesn't know what derogatory means Hmm might explain a lot

Hahaha! No-one will answer my question!

Benjaminbuttonschild · 04/09/2018 18:03

I think @1tisILeClerc answered it fairly concisely

prettybird · 04/09/2018 18:05

It's already been answered - it's irrelevant to the Brexit topic as it has nothing to do with the EU.

If you want to ask that question as a general question, go and ask it in "Politics" - or "AIBU".

Hazardswan · 04/09/2018 18:05

So your plan wholy is to make the UK so undesirable that no one will want to come here?

Wholymoley · 04/09/2018 18:10

Did I say that Hazardswan?

Benjaminbuttonschild · 04/09/2018 18:12

Wholy your posts make no sense. As has been proven via logical debate.

Wholymoley · 04/09/2018 18:13

Oh! But you've all gone massively "off topic"!

So I thought that was allowed!

Wholymoley · 04/09/2018 18:15

It was a simple question but obviously one which none of you feel able to or comfortable with answering.

1tisILeClerc · 04/09/2018 18:31

There are parts of the world where a population density FAR greater than in the UK is shown to be workable. The UK would become even more dependent of imports of food however. Japan (I believe) has a much higher population density and it manages very well.

Anyway 1tisILeClerc!
I didn't think you lived in the good old UK.
Why so invested?
What's it to you?

Benjaminbuttonschild · 04/09/2018 18:37

Who has gone off topic Wholy? Your question has been answered.

Wholymoley · 04/09/2018 18:45

Oh! Sorry!
Just posted another question.
Hope that's ok?

Hazardswan · 04/09/2018 18:45

wholy Biscuit

1tisILeClerc · 04/09/2018 18:47

@Wholy
Not that it is any of your business I have family and a lot of year's worth of friends in the UK and unlike your attitude I don't wish to see any of them or indeed anyone else suffer from the stupidity of the actions being taken by the UK government.

Wholymoley · 04/09/2018 18:47

Anyone would think I wasn't wanted on this thread!

Wholymoley · 04/09/2018 18:49

Well in that case, we're very sorry to have worried you! 1tisILeClerc!
I hope that you will be able to get over it at some point in the near future.
