.......would you vote the same as you did originally?

OP posts:
ZenNudist · 17/07/2018 17:34

Yes but i voted remain.

ShackUp · 17/07/2018 17:35

rumboogie no, you do not get to push this utter shambles on Remain. No way.

The people who voted Leave are responsible for this fucking horrendous mess, and they will be responsible for Brexit in its entirety, whatever kind of Brexit we get.

Remainers' consciences are clear. This has fuck all to do with us.

CraftyGin · 17/07/2018 17:36

Yes - remain

GhostofFrankGrimes · 17/07/2018 17:41

Voted remain. Would do so again - why would I knowingly vote for job losses and poverty?

I don't want another referendum I want leavers to own their shit.

BillywilliamV · 17/07/2018 17:48

Still think an awful lot of people voted for all this shit and misery because they were faintly irritated by the fact that there was a Polish aisle in Tesco.

somewhereovertherain · 17/07/2018 17:50

The cluster fuck we have now was always going to be the case. Glad to see big business now planning for the cluster fuck. Wonder how many leaving votes will still have a job if we leave.

Voted remain would vote remain again. My Buiness already lost a load of staff business due to leaving the eu. Planning my future and my families away from the UK but at least we have that option.

somewhereovertherain · 17/07/2018 17:52

I also don’t now want a second referendum. Let’s leace the cluster fuck to Ukip and the tories. Hope Davis, Gove and Johnson grow some balls to deal with it.

CormoranStrike · 17/07/2018 17:52

Yes - I Boyd remains md would so so again given any opportunity at all.

CormoranStrike · 17/07/2018 17:53

Sheesh, so many mistakes - I voted remain!

Topseyt · 17/07/2018 17:53

Ballsedit, you sound somewhat like my DH, who was also a Leave voter and claims to have done it for the good of our children.

Unfortunately for DH, that doesn't sit well with those children. One is a 23 year old languages graduate (European languages) who is interested in working in the EU and her younger sister wanted to go to University in another EU country, but that door now looks certain to be shut by the time she gets to that point, or at best in question anyway.

All has gone down like a lead balloon and DH cannot seem to understand why.

specialsubject · 17/07/2018 17:54

I like to think that another referendum would give us real info - here 's the deal, is it better or worse than staying?

but it would need to be a binding referendum, the last one was advisory.

I did read the remain leaflet but saw no leave info except a nonsensical bus. I would ignore campaigns this time.

MissLingoss · 17/07/2018 17:54

So, like a toddler, 'no-one's going to tell you what to do', even if in actual fact it is the best thing, even if a few people you don't like also support it.

It's not about whether I like Beckham or not. It's about the fact that he is not personally qualified to advise me on how to vote, so what was the purpose of him being there? As I said above, I was looking to the Remain campaign to persuade me not to vote Leave. The fact that they chose to wheel on a lot of celebrities made me think that a) they didn't have very compelling arguments and b) they didn't have a lot of respect for my intelligence.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 17/07/2018 17:57

they didn't have a lot of respect for my intelligence.

err..

didn't have a lot of respect for my intelligence.

Unlike the leave campaigns... Hmm

A4Document · 17/07/2018 17:58

Yes, I am still pro-Leave.

shirleyschmidt · 17/07/2018 17:59

@Mookatron I still don't understand how you can sweep aside my observation that Remain had the governmental juggernaut in its favour, and insist Leave had some sort of upper hand. Whatever was advertised on a bus, I can guarantee more people saw that leaflet because the government made sure every household got one! As regards Russia, if you're intent on a rerun based on honesty then let's stick to actual facts. Most of what I saw online - MN being a prime example - was overwhelming remain support.

If you truly don't want us to be fucked then why not wait and actually see what happens? If enough people capitulate about what an hopeless horror show we're all in, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I'm as frustrated as you (more so probably!) that Brexit has unfolded in the way it has, but I blame much of this on those remainers (the PM included) who will fundamentally never accept the decision to leave, and challenge every aspect of the negotiations at every possible turn, doing the EU's job for them. @Rumboogie sums it up very well IMO.

@Helmetbymidnight of course I respect your right to have concerns but I don't see how me voting twice addresses them, or why Brexiteers are expected to make concessions to appease remainers whose concerns we genuinely don't share.

BoneyBackJefferson · 17/07/2018 18:06

Here's a surprise, I would change my vote to leave (I voted remain surprise)

Why because of all the righteous bullshit from those that still aren't listening to those with a valid gripe against the system (both UK and Europe).

Helmetbymidnight · 17/07/2018 18:06

I didn’t ask if you respected my concerns I asked if you thought I had no reason to be concerned.

I see you belong to the magical thinking crowd- if we say it’s fine, it will be.

It would cheer me up if you said what you voted for, how Brexit will improve our lives?
You won- what’s the prize?

Kernowgal · 17/07/2018 18:06

Remain all the way.

To those who voted leave and would do so again: did you vote for UKIP? And if so, would you still align yourselves with them and their current support of the Tommy Robinson campaign?

The racist, nationalistic bile I have heard pouring from some leavers' mouths has shocked me. I feel like suddenly I no longer know the country I grew up in. My mother recently died of leukaemia; while she was I'll she was cared for by doctors, nurses and carers from all over the world, but mostly from the EU. They said they didn't know if they'd be able to stay after Brexit. That scares me.

Essexgirlupnorth · 17/07/2018 18:07

Yes voted remain and would definitely vote remain again seeing what a disaster brexit is going to be

StrangeLookingParasite · 17/07/2018 18:08

As I expected, the fate of me and people like me just doesn't mean a thing to anyone who voted leave. Not a thing.

I spend an awful lot of time afraid now.

Mookatron · 17/07/2018 18:08

There was a lot of very skillful 'leave' rhetoric on Mumsnet actually. You can go back through the boards. The fact is both of us will say there was more of the other, that's the way people work.

I'd be more inclined to wait and see if there did appear to be any plan.

The fact is leave voters and remainers need to find a way to talk to each other about this without it turning into a screaming match. Our country is basically being rent in two over it and the damage needs to be repaired, whatever happens with the EU. I have never felt so strongly about an issue and I believe you feel strongly too - we need to come to some kind of agreement or the country really is fucked.

Mookatron · 17/07/2018 18:11

I mean we as groups obvs, not me and you!

PerkingFaintly · 17/07/2018 18:16

StrangeLookingParasite, I'm really sorry to hear about your flat. Thanks Wishing you lots of good luck in your application for citizenship.

StrangeLookingParasite · 17/07/2018 18:20

Thank you Perking. I feel like I'm trying to walk across a road of stones that roll under my feet with every step.
