Still Not the Brexit Arms
MrHoolieswaistcoat · 25/07/2018 17:45

DG There is a poster on these threads who has pointed out a number of times that, according to opinion polls, a substantial majority of British people supported invading Iraq but now very few will admit to it and has said that there will come a time, when the carnage of Brexit becomes evident, when lots of people who voted Leave will deny it and say that they always thought the whole thing was a terrible idea - and probably begin to believe it themselves.
The Brexiteers’ silence on these threads is truly deafening.

Ain't that the truth.

They will always say 'it's pointless contributing' blah, blah, blah.

But the reality is there is absolutely nothing positive to say about Brexit.

If the Brexit Arms was still going the beer would be flat, the balloons burst and the emojis er, non existent. Confused Sad times.

I don’t know if this had already been posted but James O’Brien really nails it for me

It isnt the average leave voters fault, they were just lied too.

The Government is charged with acting in our best interests not slavishly following the "will of the people" crap.

Bearbehind · 25/07/2018 19:31

It isnt the average leave voters fault, they were just lied too.

And if they admitted that, and were indignant about it, then I wouldn't have an issue with it.

I do have an issue with the cocky fuckers who are still raising a glass to Brexit.

You people are all traitors. Except Daisy and chocolate.

Peregrina · 25/07/2018 20:24

We didn't all believe the lies though, but we have been ignored.

frumpety · 25/07/2018 20:26

If being a traitor means loving your country and not wanting to see it come to any harm , then yep buy me a badge !

I want a traitor badge too. But I can't have one because I'm forrin.

TheElementsSong · 25/07/2018 21:13

I can't keep up. Could one of the patriots clarify whether it is now treasonous to stockpile, or treasonous not to stockpile?

Daisy and Time Have a read of this which someone posted on another thread.
If it doesn’t make you stop and think about for a nanosecond that the British public have been royally stitched up by people who are already very rich and stand to benefit financially from a no deal Brexit, I genuinely despair.

inthemixx · 25/07/2018 22:50

On Facebook, a relative posted or liked something on the "EU-I voted Leave" group. Bloody hell, I'm horrified at the lack of understanding. The Brexiteers on here, I will give credit for having some basis of an argument, and I am glad to hear it, even though I disagree, but these unfortunate 'tub-thumpers' on Facebook, it makes me think there will be riots when this catastrophe falls into itself. I can nearly smell the burnt out council halls across country now. Glad I live in the Netherlands, this will not be nice once they wake up and smell the coffee

frumpety · 26/07/2018 07:20

Pointy you can have mine, cant wear it at work due to infection control Wink

...but everyone is entitled to their opinion..... i ve just spent a few days in hospital, there was a chap across from me, retired Doctor, lovely guy, intelligent, widely travelled, seemingly sane... die hard brexitier.

His view is that the UK can once again became a world leader in xy or z outside of the EU, which he believes holds us back, is corrupt and allows the exploitation of the UK.

Funnily enough, there were 5 of us in this ward, apart from me, all over 70, he was the only brexitier!!!

Now i happen to think he is completely wrong, however the way to change his mind (if you want too?) is to engage, acknowledge his views.
Of course, when brexit goes horribly wrong, he ll either be dead or has enough money to mitigate its effects, which is exactly the same situation a relative is in, retired Barrister, JRM supporter lol!

As i said early, its down to our leaders to lead and do the best for the country, not to follow an opinion poll or focus group.

Talkstotrees · 26/07/2018 08:01

Arghhh! My eyes! My eyes! inthemix, why did I follow you to that FB group? So much awfulness in one place (including a smattering of the de rigueur islamophobia). I do worry about our world Sad

bellinisurge · 26/07/2018 08:02

@jasjas1973 - before we all start going on about pensioners dropping us in this, the last vote my mum did (in her mid 80s) before she died was Remain. She rarely voted throughout her life. We discussed it together. She researched what she could and she considered the pros and cons. She had a postal vote. I left the room while she voted. I'm satisfied she voted Remain from what she said. She had too much other shit going on in her life to lie.

inthemixx · 26/07/2018 08:40

Talkstotrees, yes, you can almost picture them and the hatred of, well, everything! There really needs to be more current affairs programmed and less reality shows. People need to know more information about what's going on.
