Ever closer to Brexit! 🥂 🍻 🍾

Remainers are welcome, as ever.

But!

If you just want to abuse Brexiteers, then start your own thread.

This is a pub thread, not an interrogate-a-Brexiteer thread

We have more in common etc, even if Brexit divides us.

WineBrewCakeThanks

To be fair though , he is hardly going to come out the day before a vote on the issue in the HOC and say he thinks we are going to stay in the CU or SM is he ?
Not forgetting his entire department are all working terribly hard on solutions as we speak Grin

frumpety · 26/04/2018 20:25

So this CU malarkey , any thoughts ?

bearbehind · 26/04/2018 20:51

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-single-market-access-theresa-may-pleading-with-eu-a8324086.html

It's all looking more than a little shaky isn't it Leavers?

frumpety · 26/04/2018 21:05

Happy to increase my bet to a not so crisp ( for now) £20 Grin

CardinalSin · 28/04/2018 11:49

It seems the CBI can't find any Brexit unicorns either.

frumpety · 28/04/2018 11:59

Maybe the Brexit unicorns are migratory , you know like gnu's Grin

bearbehind · 28/04/2018 20:37

Brexit really is the gift that keeps on giving

So what's the point so far Leavers?

You're not even getting any more restrictions on FOM than we could have had whilst in the EU.

bearbehind · 28/04/2018 20:38

We just need the u-turn on SM/CU and you'll have been completely sold out.

frumpety · 28/04/2018 21:19

Now, now Bear everyone knows Brexit had nothing to do with immigration , well only certain types of immigration , well ok maybe a teensy bit to do with immigration , but not that nice girl, Sue's son is married to because she is lovely and her English is really good Hmm

bearbehind · 29/04/2018 16:05

Leavers are very quiet aren't they?

I really would like to hear their opinions on the stories coming out just now.

I'm sure it will all be played down with the usual 'nothing is agreed until everything is agreed' but surely they must be questioning things, if only to themselves.

DGRossetti · 29/04/2018 16:34

Leavers are very quiet aren't they?

They're confused. A year ago, they had an army of commentards ready to back them up and lay into Remoaners, giving the illusion of overwhelming odds (remember, Brexiteers are a bit dim...).

Now - nothing. It's like they've been abandoned by the Russian trollbots and they're more exposed.

Well that's my theory. Happy to be proved wrong, although most things Brexit tend to be fact-free zones.

DGRossetti · 29/04/2018 16:36

Also, despite "the will of the people" most of those in the 52% were - famously - never that politically engaged. So I suspect a few of them have lost interest, a few really think that Brexit has happened (after all, they won the vote),a few will have (quietly) changed their minds, and a few will have died.

jasjas1973 · 29/04/2018 22:13

Well Rudd has gone, so maybe your £20 isnt quite as safe as it once was?
Personally, i dont want us in either SM or CU, i am a staunch remainer but the vote was to leave and so be it, it ll screw the economy but that seems to be what brexitiers expect and want, so let them have it.

Cobblersandhogwash · 29/04/2018 23:36

Let them have it? Oh yes. They should choke on it. But unfortunately so will the rest of us.

frumpety · 30/04/2018 06:49

Ha Jasjas no £20 is safe in my possession , I am an inveterate fritterer when it comes to money Grin

The cat got me up at ridiculous o' clock this morning and I watched Davis at the Exiting the EU committee , I find him difficult to watch and end up pondering the job titles of the people behind him and wondering what they are doing on their phones , but I digress, I came away with a deep sense that very little has been achieved since June 2016 and that not much is going to be achieved before 2019. This is despite all the money and man hours allegedly being thrown at it Hmm

surferjet · 30/04/2018 09:33

Leavers are very quiet aren't they?

Ahh, sorry we’ve all abandoned you.
Sorry you haven’t got anyone to talk down to & call names. How frustrating for you.

We’re still here, just bored stiff of talking to the same people about the same things.
We’ve got better things to do, maybe it’s time you got a life? Or maybe hanging around these boards waiting for a leaver to argue with is your life? lol

333 days left ......tick tick tick Grin

gussyfinknottle · 30/04/2018 09:36

Still here. I'd rub my hands with glee at the shit storm this stupid vote has created only I'm affected by it too.
As each day passes, the fuck up gets more obvious.
Go on, have fun while you can.

Doubletrouble99 · 30/04/2018 09:50

I'm still here too but like Surfer have no interest in being bait for remainers.

bearbehind · 30/04/2018 10:10

Just the 2 Leavers I'd hoped were still around.

surfer and double you've both been very clear you voted Leave to control immigration.

What do you think of the link I posted on Saturday about FOM staying pretty much as it is now, only with the application of brakes we could have used anyway?

jasjas1973 · 30/04/2018 10:12

Yes, i agree with the Brexitiers, they ve won and that is that, after the transition period, we will be completely outside of the EU, just as Norway, Switzerland or any other EFTA/EEA countries are.
Sure we may still pay in to a few projects and no doubt have some sort of FTA but we will have left and will be a third country.

We will never re-join, as euro, schengen and no opt outs would need to be agreed too.

It ll take years before we truly know the down or upsides and human nature being what it is, neither side will admit they were wrong lol!

Personally i dont give fuck anymore.

DGRossetti · 30/04/2018 10:14

Just the 2 Leavers I'd hoped were still around.

Maybe the only real ones here Hmm ...

mummmy2017 · 30/04/2018 10:58

Nothing has been confirmed it's still chinese whispers right now...waiting till we find out.

Doubletrouble99 · 30/04/2018 11:03

I wanted FOM to stop because I find it discriminatory in favour of white Christians. I want to see an even playing field for everyone in the world to be able to come here so I'm not at all keen on the idea you outlined Bear.

mummmy2017 · 30/04/2018 11:07

Did you see the EU and UK and making financial plans for a no deal regarding finances?
