Ever closer to Brexit! 🥂 🍻 🍾

Remainers are welcome, as ever.

But!

If you just want to abuse Brexiteers, then start your own thread.

This is a pub thread, not an interrogate-a-Brexiteer thread

We have more in common etc, even if Brexit divides us.

WineBrewCakeThanks

Anyway even if we do leave, we will still have to match all EU regs if we want to trade with the EU.

So it'll be a leave in name only. With zero influence in the EU.

YIPPEE!

Doubletrouble99 · 11/04/2018 17:23

Sounds like your talking Cobblers!!

Cobblersandhogwash · 11/04/2018 17:36

😂😂😂😂😂

God you're funny. 🙄

KennDodd · 11/04/2018 19:57

@Cobblersandhogwash

And nobody wants to go back to how shit it all was with sewage spread beaches and no just in time delivery options.

Actually I think 17.4 million voters do want that. Blue passports and no foreigners!

Doubletrouble99 · 11/04/2018 20:27

What a load of rubbish you two are talking.

Cobblersandhogwash · 11/04/2018 20:34

Wrong again. What is it like being wrong all the time?

Cobblersandhogwash · 12/04/2018 07:51

Also Nissan will be leaving Sunderland after Brexshit. They're just in final stages of merger talks with Renault.

It's just not financially viable to stay in the U.K. post Brexshit.

More champagne anyone? We've got job losses to celebrate.

Doubletrouble99 · 12/04/2018 09:02

Nissan and Renault have been together for over 20 years the only difference now is they are thinking of making it official!!!

gussyfinknottle · 12/04/2018 09:17

Double, in the real world of capitalism, a business has not merged with another business until it has legally done so.

Doubletrouble99 · 12/04/2018 09:24

Yes but the point is they have been working together for years using each other's car parts etc. So them becoming one legal entity is unlikely to change anything with regard to Sunderland.

Talkstotrees · 12/04/2018 09:57

Morning all Brew thought I’d have another try at getting behind Brexit.

Now we’ve established:

  1. That the philosophy of “ever closer union” is not intended to lead the to EU becoming a political superpower. (Although why folks wouldn’t want to be part of a sizeable and reasonable power in today’s geopolitical climate is Confused to me).

  2. That the EU actually help underdeveloped African (and other) countries by having tariff free access to the Single Market for all goods (except arms and armaments).

  3. Negotiating trade deals is likely to be difficult, costly, lengthy and will - at least in some cases - lead to less favourable terms than our current (EU) deals, agreements.

  4. Sovereignty was never lost (but, yes, some was pooled for our mutual benefit).

...

What am I to get behind please?

Talkstotrees · 12/04/2018 10:00

For the purpose of this get-behind-Brexit attempt, I am ignoring the glaring downsides to Brexit and looking just for upsides. Thank you.

gussyfinknottle · 12/04/2018 10:08

Double, I admire your optimism.

Doubletrouble99 · 12/04/2018 10:49

Many car companies are amalgamations of several brands but it doesn't mean they suddenly stop producing certain types of cars. Nissan and Renault have quite different customer bases and different profiles so a good fit to share technology etc.

KennDodd · 12/04/2018 12:04

What am I to get behind please?

Blue passports! Ignore the fact that we could have had them anyway, the fact is we didn't have them, this is something concrete Brexit has brought along with reduced value of said passport.

Bellatron · 12/04/2018 12:08

On MN Eu threads, the only people who have posted repeatedly & at length about passport colour are remainers.

Cobblersandhogwash · 12/04/2018 13:53

Because blue passports are another example of the utterly pointless pile of expensive poop that Brexshit is.

Bellatron · 12/04/2018 17:28

The passport contract was up for renewal anyway - the colour change is irrelevant.

They're not being specially created as an extra.

Renault actually own a majority share of Nissan I believe , they are one company but with Renault owning the larger share.

frumpety · 12/04/2018 19:29

oops sorry , that should have said the larger share of Nissan , think its about 70% .

frumpety · 12/04/2018 19:30

Just as Renault makes all the diesel engines for Mercedes cars , the engine in the Mercedes is branded Mercedes but produced by Renault.

frumpety · 12/04/2018 19:32

See, I do listen to DH , next time he says I don't , you lot can back me up Grin

bearbehind · 12/04/2018 19:45

The fact is, unless we remain in the SM/CU all the car manufacturers
will move to mainland Europe.

They cannot cope with restrictions on movement of parts during the manufacturing process.

frumpety · 12/04/2018 20:29

The fact is, unless we remain in the SM/CU all the car manufacturers
will move to mainland Europe.

Or go back to where they came from Wink
