Ever closer to Brexit! 🥂 🍻 🍾

Remainers are welcome, as ever.

But!

If you just want to abuse Brexiteers, then start your own thread.

This is a pub thread, not an interrogate-a-Brexiteer thread

We have more in common etc, even if Brexit divides us.

WineBrewCakeThanks

I'm other news - one of the constant refrains from remainers on these threads for 'Look at the company you're keeping, voting for leave'.

Lots of 'I couldn't vote for something which people like Nigel Farage support' etc.

So, what's the verdict on voting labour now, what with the latest news re Nick Griffin praising Jezza & declaring he'd vote for him?

Haha. Which one of you Nick G. fans reported that?

gussyfinknottle · 10/04/2018 16:03

Nothing either JC or Nick Griffin do surprises me. JC was a not very secret Leave supporter and is a prat. Not on my team.

frumpety · 10/04/2018 20:43

Bella why do you automatically assume that people who voted Remain would support Labour ? After all the Prime minister campaigned for Remain in her own quiet useless way Grin

Bellatron · 10/04/2018 20:58

I don't Frumpety.

My question is for the labour voting remainers.

CardinalSin · 10/04/2018 21:09

There don't seem to be very many of those these days...

Cobblersandhogwash · 11/04/2018 06:24

Labour voting Remainers have been pretty pissed off with JC and his big ❤️ of Brexshit. Long before this Nick Griffin bullshit popped up.

I'd say Labour are in for a big shock at the local elections too.

But it's pretty lame to say, "Nar nar. Look which creep is voting Labour now." when the horrors that actively campaigned for Leave like liar racist Johnson etc are still in full effect getting away with the nonsense they peddle.

Talkstotrees · 11/04/2018 06:55

Anyway, back to Brexit.

gussyfinknottle · 11/04/2018 08:37

I haven't been a Labour voter since JC was the chosen one. I voted Remain. Labour is not the Remain party. And anyway. We lost. There is no Remain option. Apart from getting and Irish/EU passport. Which is what we are all doing in my family.

Cobblersandhogwash · 11/04/2018 08:50

Gussyfink, lucky you getting EU passports.

The rest of us are stuck.

gussyfinknottle · 11/04/2018 09:12

Once the result came in, my wish to ensure collective benefit for the country plummeted and my preference to focus on what's best for my family and screw everyone else increased.
The successful Leave vote appeared to me to be a general "two fingers" to whoever pissed off each particular voter. So, while harmony and collective wellbeing is a good thing, I now say "fuck that, what's best for me and mine". Sad state of affairs.

KennDodd · 11/04/2018 10:00

There is no Remain option.

Lib Dem and Green party are both still vocal supporters of Remain.

LondonMum8 · 11/04/2018 10:01

@Talkstotrees

This country had survived centuries without any aviation industry. Anyways, I'm absolutely sure life will be just the same in my village after Brexit. It's not like the country will immediately turn into a wasteland depicted in Mad Max, will it, therefore it follows we will be fine. And please don't forget: Brexit means Brexit, the people have spoken and obviously we are taking back control. Wine GinFlowers

DGRossetti · 11/04/2018 10:06

Quite happy to vote Lib Dem. AS was noted a while ago, even if they don't win many seats, their %age of vote is used to ensure balance in things like Question Time (where Farage has appeared more times than Dimbleby).

jasjas1973 · 11/04/2018 10:23

I thought they want a ref on the final deal, not withdrawal of Art50. hardly the same is it?
There is no stop brexit option (from any mainstream party) which is why i ve completely accepted we are leaving and have (fortunately) options to mitigate and fcuk the rest of the country.....
i am now all for the end of the triple lock and please keep the benefits freeze!

LondonMum8 · 11/04/2018 10:34

I'm reading 2nd ref to accept the deal or stay in the EU

www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/dec/20/lib-dems-call-for-second-eu-referendum-in-december-2018

gussyfinknottle · 11/04/2018 10:36

Not a cat in hell's chance of a second referendum.
Hope I'm wrong.
Can you imagine what Leavers would be saying had they lost by the same margin?

LondonMum8 · 11/04/2018 10:42

Can you imagine what Leavers would be saying had they lost by the same margin?

Surely "The British people have spoken, we are staying in the EU." Grin

jasjas1973 · 11/04/2018 11:01

I'm reading 2nd ref to accept the deal or stay in the EU

Agreed but that is not Remain, as it once again relies on another vote.

Forty plus years and your 'leaders' still don't have a clue.
