This may be the last Brexit Arms thread that I will host.

It was intended to be a non-partisan and relatively light hearted thread for posters on both sides of the divide, but unfortunately this seems to have proved impossible so far.

It is not supposed to be a place for the disgruntled Remainer to use as an outlet to abuse and kick out at their perceived enemy.

I will give it one last go in the hope that things will change.

So.... onwards to Brexit....

Morning Surfer Brew

I feel exactly the same as I do about Lord Patel inviting a murderer & attempted rapist into the HoL to advise on how transwomen & prisons.
And Lily Madigan being a woman's officer, and self ID, and the whole TRA bullshit.
Getting another woman-hating racist in as an advisor is just par for the course now.
I fully expect them to invite a paedophile I'm to advise on child protection at some point soon.

Whilst I'm not a labour voter, and I think Jezsus is a buffoon, I am still horrified with what the Labour Party is becoming.

Morning gussyfinknottle

I’ll check that thread out Faith.

It’s worrying isn’t it, as women, Brexit is the least of our problems.

Moussemoose · 28/02/2018 08:00

@user1471450935
Talkin said the US was a bully and the EU was standing up to that bullying.

China steals everyone's intellectual copyright and the EU stops them.

The EU is standing up to bullies.

How on earth did you turn that into the EU being the bully?

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 28/02/2018 08:05

As usual the lack of reading ability is strong on here.

User asked a question but you've both reframed it into something entirely different & responded instead to your reimagining of his words.

Tedious but expected.

AgnesSkinner · 28/02/2018 08:15

Would you say there's a risk of the EU doing the same too us, you know, following in China's and USA footsteps, and bullying us into keeping the SM/CU and Freedom of Movement, even when our government says NO,

There it is - question about is the EU bullying the UK.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 28/02/2018 08:19

So the answer would surely be 'no' with an explanation why? (Explanation optional, obviously).

Instead, you both ranted about him daring to suggest that the EU are bullies & would do the same.

As I said - tedious but not unexpected.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 28/02/2018 08:20

Apologies - I said 'you both' and realised it wasn't you Agnes - it was Bear & mousse.
Sorry.

AgnesSkinner · 28/02/2018 08:28

S’okay Faith.

I think today will be “interesting” when the EU publishes its draft agreement - standby for some apoplectic responses to NI border solutions.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 28/02/2018 08:36

I saw some of the pre-reactions yesterday - definite fallout coming.

Apparently their default position (in the absence of a deal) is forcing a border within UK (bit of a car crash interview on newsnight last night).

mummmy2017 · 28/02/2018 08:39

I don't see how we can accept that, and this is a draft after all, so that means not a HARD copy, of an agreement, and they also were said to have left out bits, Cherry Picking by the EU,,, never.

Ding. Popcorn is ready! The more idiotic the comments the better, do your worst @mummy2017 :D

AgnesSkinner · 28/02/2018 08:54

mummmy

Ask yourself why the UK hasn’t come up with the draft agreement but instead left it to the EU.

And also ask yourself why the UK should be raising objections to a written version of what has already been agreed between the EU and the UK.

mummmy2017 · 28/02/2018 09:18

Because some of what they wrote, isn't what was agreed.

Still don't see how it can work, as everyone has to agree and when we said about the sea boarder you lot went into melt down, but now you seem to be saying do it...

mummmy2017 · 28/02/2018 09:33

But all we have had on here is how NI voted to stay in the EU , and they don't want a border and how do I see it playing out.

So now it's the EU trying to Break the GFA by saying they are going to Annex the NI and make it conform to EU rules. Unless the GFA is changed to reflect the Break up of the EU and the UK there is no where to go? Unless so of the Remain on here have some answers?

gussyfinknottle · 28/02/2018 09:40

I love the notion that the EU caused this problem. It is almost funny.
It would be great if things could just remain as they are on the border.....no, wait ...
Chickens coming home to roost for this ridiculous ill-thought fantasy vote. It is not Remainers' job to find a solution.

CardinalSin · 28/02/2018 09:41

As per usual Mummy, you've got it all arse about tit.

The EU are offering potential solutions to the problem the we've caused, since the UK government has so far failed to come up with a single practical one themselves.

Really, you should get that Daily Mail chip out of your head...

As I said - tedious but not unexpected

faith what is tedious is your continual twisting of posts to suit your cause.

I redpibdeded to users post by saying the EU weren’t being bullies and asking why we should expect to keep the benefits without any commitments?

I’ll ask you the same question although I know I won’t get an answer.

It’s nothing to do with the EU being bullies, it’s to do with us not having our cake and eating it.

user1471450935 · 28/02/2018 10:07

Morning.
The transgender thing is worrying it is been run by extremeists.
Sorry I asked about EU. I glad you think No.
Also thought I add that the full text of Liam Fox soeech is on BrexitCentral if you can't see a video.
Interesting and balanced I thought. None of usual cheap words, sounds like government slowly developing strategy.
I thought ROI was desperate to avoid hard border at all costs. Interesting that EU may force one on them.
I think a bespoke deal will be reached. Simily because neither side wants to be the one who forces a hard border on Ireland.
Just my early morning thoughts

bearbehind · 28/02/2018 10:22

Interesting that EU may force one on them

And this is where the minds of Keavers and Remainers differ.

The UK would be the one ‘forcing’ a border if we don’t come up with a better alternative.

The fact it it’s a moot point as we’ll agree to stay in SM/CU in the end anyway- it’s the only option that works.
