Good morning Smile

Voting to leave the European Union was a monumental decision, and one that will change the direction of our Country for decades to come.
I see that as an exciting opportunity & something to be welcomed & celebrated.

So, if you see solutions instead of problems, if you see a better future for the citizens of U.K., free from the constraints of an organisation we had no control over, then this place is for you.
Of course not everything is going to run smoothly, maybe not for years, because leaving a union drowning in red tape was never going to be easy, but we are forward thinking progressive people who know the future doesn’t just mean next week.
So, here’s to our new future,
To the future of the U.K. Wine
The countdown begins.........

I want our small farmers paid to produce food, not paid to not do anything.

Rees Mogg & Leave means Leave are arguing that Brexit will mean lower food prices. Due to cheaper imports. They don't say if they are happy if this means that food production becomes economically unsustainable in UK. Remember, under WTO rules you can't give domestic producers any advantage over external producers. I'm not sure how that will help small farmers make enough money to stay in business.

Maybe someone can explain how Brexit will work to help small UK farmers??

Bearbehind · 18/02/2018 17:59

mummmy of all the Leavers on here, you annoy me the most.

surfer comes a close second but she is blatantly comfortable enough to ride things out so, for me she falls into the BJ, JRM I'm alright Jack bucket.

There's others who pitch up to rant about posts then never really engage like faith, corcory and time

You swing between, 'we won you lost' and 'it'll all be fine' and you have literally nothing to offer in between.

Hasenstein · 18/02/2018 17:59

So, Mummy, you say that you don't have any answers to the questions raised on here, but trust the UK (and by implication its negotiators) to sort things out and you'll accept what they manage to agree.

What would be your response if the Government said it had come to the conclusion that it was unfeasible for us to leave the EU and they had therefore decided to withdraw Article 50?

ragged · 18/02/2018 18:03

I want us to encourage industry MORE.

I guess that means manufacturing.
The easiest way to do that & be competitive in World (outside of a big trading bloc) is to drastically reduce regulations (environmental, tax, safety...), as well as cut wages to the bone.

I suppose that benefits industry. It doesn't benefit workers.

One UK industry talked about bigly post-Brexit is weapons manufacture. Being less fussy about who we sell to could mean a boom & other sources explain why this UK industry could go bust.

mummmy2017 · 18/02/2018 18:04

That's becasue I don't know BEAR.
I am sorry this annoys you but it's the plain truth,
I wanted out, so I voted out.
Why can't you understand that.
Understand that I did know it would be hard, but was so shocked that DC the most ignorant of PM's EVER did this.
I was like OMG the day he said it would happen.
We were all shocked and never expected to win, but we voted and hope like bloody crazy that it would come to pass.
We have no plans, or expectations so HAVE to let the people who are MP's and civil servants sort it.
What we do know is that the EU isn't what it was 40 years ago and the stranglehold it has on UK is too much.
You don't like it sorry, but you have to this is your Real life world now.

Bearbehind · 18/02/2018 18:08

the stranglehold it has on UK is too much.

Yet, despite how big and clever you think that sounds, you are literally incapable of giving one single example of how that has ever affected you Hmm

surferjet · 18/02/2018 18:10

Bearbehind
You don’t actually annoy me tbh, in a weird way I kind of like you. I think you’re genuinely upset & concerned about leaving the EU & I try to be sympathetic.

I want us to encourage industry MORE.

What? Do you mean like Germany? Dead right. They could never have an economy like that if they were oppressed by the EU.

Bearbehind · 18/02/2018 18:15

Weirdly surfer I kind of feel the same about you.

IRL we'd probably get on if we avoided the subject of Brexit.

I'll just never agree with the 'I'm alright Jack mentality'

I doubt I'm in your league but I'm actually probably not going to be hugely affect personally by Brexit but that doesn't mean I think we should send the rest of the country down the swanney.

Cailleach1 · 18/02/2018 18:16

The UK need to unshackle itself and leave the dying EU. Just like Germany did. Take back control and increase trade with countries they never could have done as part of the EU. You only need to look at them now they are free and independent. Not like they would have been if they had been in the EU.

Peregrina · 18/02/2018 18:27

We don't want to be part of the EU, we want to TRADE with the EU.

No Mummmy all you can say is that's what YOU want. Others wanted more money for the NHS. A person interviewed by the BBC appeared to be hoping that all Muslims in his locality would be rounded up and thrown out. Hannan and Farage extolled the Norway option prior to the Referendum only to change their tunes later. Gove would like to destroy the GFA. Who knows what Theresa May wants apart from saving her political skin?

ragged · 18/02/2018 18:29

Caileach: you're not a Russian Internet Centre employee trying to talk confusing rubbish, are you? Coz what you said makes no sense, since DE still in EU.

ragged · 18/02/2018 18:30

May wants to keep Tory party unified. Any other leader would divide them openly which is why she remains in office.

Bearbehind · 18/02/2018 18:31

caileach I'm baffled.

Last time checked Germany were very much in the EU.

Bearbehind · 18/02/2018 18:32

I'm guessed no that was irony that didn't quite come off Grin

LaurieMarlow · 18/02/2018 18:34

May has said many times she won't go for that as she wants free trade

Any idea how she's going to reconcile leaving the customs union with the commitments she's already made (and can't renege on) on the NI border?

mummmy2017 · 18/02/2018 18:36

Our Tomatoes are from Spain, as they get subsidies so they are cheaper.
Our cars are made abroad as it;s cheaper, so the industry here dies.
Our products have to conform to EU standards even when they are not going to the EU.
Food can't have certain names, as the EU say so.
Your Vacuum can't be powerful.
“children under eight cannot blow up balloons”. unless they have an adult there...
They told us which light bulbs we could use.
It is against the law to mention the date 1966 in any football ground in Germany. This is when England won the World Cup at Wembley against West Germany (4-2).

ragged · 18/02/2018 18:36

Ah... I'm rubbish at irony. Soz

mummmy2017 · 18/02/2018 18:41

DO you want to leave the EU.. Leave or Remain.

After we left what did you think we would do, turn are back on the EU and pretend they sank? or course we would trade with them...

Bearbehind · 18/02/2018 18:41

mummmy I don't give a shit if this gets deleted.

You are a fucking idiot.

The world isn't the big place it once was.

People won't tolerate expensive cars or even tomatoes, knowing there's an alternative.

We will still have to abide by EU regulations in order to continue to trade with our biggest and closest market.

When is that going to register with you?

Bearbehind · 18/02/2018 18:43

it is against the law to mention the date 1966 in any football ground in Germany. This is when England won the World Cup at Wembley against West Germany (4-2).

Could you provide the evidence for this spectacular statement.

ragged · 18/02/2018 18:45

I've got to ask a German friend about the 1966 law (supposed).

Hasenstein · 18/02/2018 18:45

Ah, Mummy, there you are. Would you have a moment to reply to my question?

*So, Mummy, you say that you don't have any answers to the questions raised on here, but trust the UK (and by implication its negotiators) to sort things out and you'll accept what they manage to agree.

What would be your response if the Government said it had come to the conclusion that it was unfeasible for us to leave the EU and they had therefore decided to withdraw Article 50?*

I'm genuinely interested to know how you would feel in that event.

TalkinPeace · 18/02/2018 18:56

A question WELL worth repeating ....
What would be your response if the Government said it had come to the conclusion that it was unfeasible for us to leave the EU and they had therefore decided to withdraw Article 50?

LaurieMarlow · 18/02/2018 18:59

I would be fascinated by your response to this question too.
