Good morning Smile

Voting to leave the European Union was a monumental decision, and one that will change the direction of our Country for decades to come.
I see that as an exciting opportunity & something to be welcomed & celebrated.

So, if you see solutions instead of problems, if you see a better future for the citizens of U.K., free from the constraints of an organisation we had no control over, then this place is for you.
Of course not everything is going to run smoothly, maybe not for years, because leaving a union drowning in red tape was never going to be easy, but we are forward thinking progressive people who know the future doesn’t just mean next week.
So, here’s to our new future,
To the future of the U.K. Wine
The countdown begins.........

Rufus WineGinWine = negroni (well it would if there was a white wine emoji)

mummmy2017 · 17/02/2018 21:48

SPOILER ALERT
Agnes we all know there will be no bridge, woops didn't you get that message, sorry .

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 17/02/2018 21:49

Oooh very posh Grin

Might get off my butt and get a short...

mummmy2017 · 17/02/2018 21:49

Prof Rufus, you know your degree in common sense at the school of hard knocks is valid,

time4chocolate · 17/02/2018 21:50

Chill out Bear it’s Saturday night and if I want to post a pitiful response I will especially as I know it winds you up

Call me childish I don’t care, my skin is a thick as a 🦏.

Bearbehind · 17/02/2018 21:50

Boris' bridge is probably more viable than a virtual border.

It has a clear objective and could be planned for.

No, I don't think it's likely, but it does demonstrate how implausible a virtual border is.

Moussemoose · 17/02/2018 21:52

Blame DC, we just ticked the box because we could

Absolutely no. Take responsibility for your actions. Grow up.

How pathetic, you did it, own it. Make plans, engage, help.

This passive attitude of yours is pathetic. Remainers have to just put up with it because of one referendum. We shouldn't continue to campaign because an election ( of sorts ) was held. You are now blaming others for your decision.

Grow. The. Fuck. UP.

AgnesSkinner · 17/02/2018 21:52

We know there won’t be a London Garden Bridge, but that’s cost £60 million to tell us that it won’t happen.

A Channel bridge is technically possible, but practically unfeasible.

Now does that remind me of something ... ?

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 17/02/2018 21:53

I suppose my point was that we have had ample opportunity to discuss all the factors and there is a huge knowledge base here. I voted Remain, but even I had NO CLUE about the potential impact on the GFA when I did so. I know lots more about some aspects of this than others. I don't pretend to fully understand all the implications. And that is the point. very few people do.

This thread was started with the admirable aim of finding some positivity in Brexit. No-one has yet come forward with any desired outcome apart from "we won't be in the EU anymore" nor can anyone say how their life is currently negatively affected.

Bearbehind · 17/02/2018 21:53

time I really can't be bothered with your childish responses all the time.

I used to think you were one of the more clued up Leavers around here.

Now you're in the same camp as mummy and surfer; everything you come out with lately is nonsense, largely with the intention of closing down any intelligent discussion.

time4chocolate · 17/02/2018 21:57

everything you come out with lately is nonsense, largely with the intention of closing down any intelligent discussion.

Why is that Bear do you think?

TalkinPeace · 17/02/2018 21:57

time4chocolate
But we have been a member for a long time and so many elements of our lives are totally embedded in that relationship.
So are you also hoping to get the UK out of NATO ?
What about the Commonwealth?
What about the WTO?

Are you still married, or do you consider long happy marriages to be something to run away from ?

What GOOD THINGS to you expect to happen when we leave the EU ?
What do you actually WANT ?

Globetrotter100 · 17/02/2018 22:02

And still like a jilted lover your need for answers keeps coming.

Yep...some people still care about this country and, embarrassingly, their children's future. Still! How deeply shocking! Shock Grin

Bearbehind · 17/02/2018 22:02

why is that Bear do you think?

Because, time as you've repeatedly proven, you're not capable of more intelligent debate because you have no answers and don't even keep up to date with developments, so what you think you do know as fact, isn't even correct.

frumpety · 17/02/2018 22:08

Flipping heck , I went to work and you all kicked off !

Corcory I absolutely agree that Doctors should commit to staying in the UK for 4 years post training , it didn't say when the training finished did it , do they mean baby doctors ( I can say this as could have given birth to most of them ) , SHO or registrar level ? not sure .

Surfer give over with your remainer's hate the UK malarkey , it isn't true at all . We don't hate you either . Hate is pointless , takes up far too much energy that could be better utilised by lifting a nice cold drink to your lips , pass me a negroni there's a dear Smile

mummmy2017 · 17/02/2018 22:10

Bear yours are just rants about this needs changing , that needs changing,
Nothing is sorted YET.
There are no answers as nothing is sorted yet.
How many more blooming times do we need to tell you that, before you get it into the thick skull?

AgnesSkinner · 17/02/2018 22:12

Aha - another negroni lover.

I wonder if negroni in a can might be my Dragon’s Den moment?

surferjet · 17/02/2018 22:12

Wine Smile

I hope you had a good day at work frumpety

( see, I can be nice )

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 17/02/2018 22:18

mummmy my rants are about what needs resolving, not what needs changing

Yet again you've clearly demonstrated where the 'thick skulls' are Hmm

Just out of interest, given you repeatedly insist there won't be answers until everything is agreed; how do you think any business or situation is going to adapt to these changes?

It has been explained time and time again that the kind of radical changes required to leave SM/CU will take years to plan and develop.

In your head, how's it going to work?

For example, How will a border be controlled from Brexit day?

frumpety · 17/02/2018 22:19

Agnes I am volunteering as a taste tester Grin

Not a bad day all in all , no-one died so felt like I was winning Surfer Wine

time4chocolate · 17/02/2018 22:19

bear I can’t debate intelligently on answers that don’t bloody exist yet - FFS.

I feel like I am living in an alternate universe sometimes when I come on these threads.

TalkinPeace · 17/02/2018 22:22

mummmy / time4chocolate
What will be the tangible things for you that will prove Brexit was worth it ?
Surely you have aims and goals from Leaving the EU?

Bearbehind · 17/02/2018 22:23

I can’t debate intelligently on answers that don’t bloody exist yet

The fact you’re confirming answers don’t exist on what you hope to achieve by leaving the EU or what the benefits are, rather illustrates the problem here.

mummmy2017 · 17/02/2018 22:23

frumpety, near where I used too live they had an old peoples community, it has small one bedroom bungalows, around a hall for meals for the people who couldn't cook, there was a Doctor and a nurse on call all the time and about 50 people lived there.

There was a fee for the homes that paid for these services and you could buy or rent a home, if you needed long term or short term help, Each home had pull alarms and everyone get visted in the mornings to check they were fine,

I really think we should have more of these sort of places built, and that when you get rented local housing home you agree at say 60 that you will move into something like this, rather than blocking up a 3 or 4 bed home.

I also think they could build communities people who are well and don't need help could downsize into say with moving cost and a golden handshake from your years of rental on a house that has increased in value over your rental time... with pets allowed.

There is so much that could be done to help people.. A friend has just moved into a bedsit in a block that houses 100 young people at a payable rent, we need more help to improve people's lives.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 17/02/2018 22:24

But we need answers. We need to know how people will trade and cross borders given some date in about 1 years time. No-one has any answers to this, but we are all supposed to be super positive about it.
