Good morning Smile

Voting to leave the European Union was a monumental decision, and one that will change the direction of our Country for decades to come.
I see that as an exciting opportunity & something to be welcomed & celebrated.

So, if you see solutions instead of problems, if you see a better future for the citizens of U.K., free from the constraints of an organisation we had no control over, then this place is for you.
Of course not everything is going to run smoothly, maybe not for years, because leaving a union drowning in red tape was never going to be easy, but we are forward thinking progressive people who know the future doesn’t just mean next week.
So, here’s to our new future,
To the future of the U.K. Wine
The countdown begins.........

Shall I tell you what’s soul destroying Bear

Children getting raped & sexually abused by people they trust.
People getting killed by terrorists whilst innocently going about their daily lives.
War.
Famine.
Children dying of cancer or other illnesses.
Your child going to school in the morning and not coming home because she’s been shot dead.
Do you want me to go on?

Leaving a trading bloc is not fucking soul destroying Hmm

OP posts:
AgnesSkinner · 17/02/2018 19:49

Several of those could happen if the GFA falls apart. That would definitely be soul destroying.

TalkinPeace · 17/02/2018 19:50

And because of the legislative burden of Brexit, the UK Government has pretty much stopped dealing with all of the things on your list.
So
WHY Do you want something that will make no difference to you ?

Bearbehind · 17/02/2018 19:52

Those examples are pretty despicable comparisons surfer

Plus, I didn't say leaving the EU was soul destroying, I was referring to the fact that it is blasé Leavers and their complete lack of critical thinking that is soul destroying.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 17/02/2018 19:54

Yes - that list is only exacerbated by brexit for many reasons. The shortsightedness of some people makes me almost breathless with fury.

surferjet · 17/02/2018 19:54

So once we leave the EU the U.K. will experience war & famine?

What are you smoking?

OP posts:
Peregrina · 17/02/2018 19:56

Leaving Euratom could compromise children's and adults cancer care; so why Theresa May included it in the A50 notification almost defies credulity, except that Euratom could now be subject to the ECJ, which is a big no-no for May's Brexshit cabinet. They would rather children suffered cancer would they, or are they like babbling BoJo and just too lazy to think through the consequences?

How many children in this country have gone to school and not come home because they have been shot dead. As far as I know since Dunblane the answer is none, so how will Leaving the EU make the slightest difference to that?

War, Famine - we have helped to destabilise the Middle East, yet we are happy to sell weapons to Middle Eastern countries which can only cause more war and suffering.

TalkinPeace · 17/02/2018 19:56

So once we leave the EU the U.K. will experience war & famine?
It will definitely experience the impact
otherwise known as the Syrian refugee crisis

  • the lads at Calais ~ remember them ?
mummmy2017 · 17/02/2018 19:57

When you move house you don't know what it will be like.
when you have a baby you don't know what it will be like.
When you get married you don't know what it will be like.
When you start a new job you don't know what it will be like.
When you go on Holiday you don't know what it will be like.

Our life is filled with major decisions you make because you want to without concrete proof of what will happen, that's what human's have done through out history, sorry but Brexit was another one we took because we could. You were not on the side that carried the vote, and your not going to be able to change it.

The spitefulness of some on here is shocking, and yes if the other side had won, I would have accepted it, as that was the vote..

Bearbehind · 17/02/2018 20:03

When you move house you don't know what it will be like

I'll just use the first example there to prove how fucking stupid your comparisons are mummmy

  • when moving house you can compare all the options
  • you can see what you get by increasing or decreasing your budget
  • you can research the all the potential areas
  • you can change your mind if you decide staying where you are is a better option for you.

The comments by Remainers are not spiteful, as pyramids said, its fucking fury with Leavers complete inability to understand what the problem is.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 17/02/2018 20:04

You don't know what it be like, but probably you do some reading up, ask some experts, read reviews, discuss with your friends, make some plans etc. Here we have done nothing at all. A big leap into the dark with no fecking clue. For what? No-one on this thread has given any positives AT ALL apart from Global trade and sovereignty which we already have. It seems we will have to swap EU immigration for Global immigration, which is great as currently we are being racist about it. AND NO FUCKER REMEMBERS THAT EU FOM IS RECIPRICOL.

Bearbehind · 17/02/2018 20:05

Lost my last point

  • you don't decide to move house, burn the old one down and just stand back and say, 'We'll sort something out'
TalkinPeace · 17/02/2018 20:07

mummmy
But in all of the things on your list
OTHERS HAVE DONE IT BEFORE
so you can learn from their mistakes

Brexit is a complete leap into the dark
for reasons that those in favour of it seem unwilling and unable to articulate
its not even clear what they will regard as a good outcome

None of the pro Brexit posters on this thread have actually listed the positives they want from Brexit

  • as per the two posts by surferjet that I quoted above.
AgnesSkinner · 17/02/2018 20:08

surfer you obviously have little or no knowledge of the history of NI before the GFA.

And since the Leave vote has put the GFA under serious threat it might be worth thinking about terrorism, school children being shot at or their buses targeted, little short of all out war.

A lot of what went on in NI during the troubles never made the news on the mainland.

mummmy2017 · 17/02/2018 20:13

So maybe we will be the first.
My point is people have done new things, and yes you get scared, but it doesn't kill you.
We did look, read and think, and still we knew, this is our one and only time to GET OUT.
Why is that so hard for you too see, that we thought it was WORTH anything to take this chance to LEAVE.
People are so poorly off now, and in the EU nothing will change, there is no hope, just more of the same shit handed down by the EU, more money.. you can't say they don't want more MONEY.
More power, more rules, laws and not willing to ever compromise.
Sorry but do you want to LEAVE,, HELL yes.. where do we tick.

TalkinPeace · 17/02/2018 20:19

mummmy
Which things will leaving the EU make better ?
How will it make us richer?
How will it magic up more money?
How will it magic up hope?
What will change in YOUR life after Brexit to make that ?

Peregrina · 17/02/2018 20:19

You are mostly wrong mummmy - most of the shit was handed down by Westminster, which personally I feel was what a lot of the vote was about - telling Cameron and his wealthy chums to take a running jump. Which he duly did, but he's still wealthy.

But what sign is there that Westminster is going to have a change of heart? Have we seen babbling BoJo throw his weight behind getting more money for the NHS? Er no. Have we seen the Government set up task forces in deprived areas to see what work could be created? Do skills audits so that if the work is persuaded to go to those areas they will be able to recruit qualified local people. Again the answer would appear to be a resounding No. We have had soundbite after soundbite.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 17/02/2018 20:24

I live in an extremely diverse city. The argument made by some is that EU immigration is racist and that what brexiteers really want is more immigration from non-Eu countries? Now I think this is a definite outcome from Brexit, that we will still want "cheap" labour and the EU workers still have 27 other countries to choose from and won't come to UK once there are visas / work permits etc. I am sure that none of the MN posters here are racist. But I would bet my life that a huge number of brexit voters are and will not be happy to swap white faces for brown ones. The cheap labour issue is something else, something our government has control over and nothing to do with the EU.

mummmy2017 · 17/02/2018 20:26

WE haven;t left YET.

The change will be we left, that is enough, it will finally be for trade as it was originally intended...
Once it's agreed, then other things happen, you don't like it fine, you should have been out campaigning you arses of, spouting all this STUFF you now know in retrospect.

Did you no. Why because in your complacency you thought it couldn't wouldn't happen, well it has so you have to deal with it...

time4chocolate · 17/02/2018 20:27

NI Results in EU Ref
62% turnout 789,879
56% Remain 440,437
44% Leave 349,442

Peregrina · 17/02/2018 20:29

I am puzzled as to how you know who campaigned or not mummmy.

TalkinPeace · 17/02/2018 20:29

mummmy
you should have been out campaigning you arses of, spouting all this STUFF you now know in retrospect.
I did - I sent briefing papers to the Open Britain group - but they were the arrogant ones.

it will finally be for trade as it was originally intended
Sorry?
What ?
What trade will we get after Brexit that we do not get now?

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 17/02/2018 20:32

If this is about trade then we are fucking up our largest trade agreement. Mummmy, please tell what negative effects being in the EU has had on your life to date. I am sure you must have quite a list.

mummmy2017 · 17/02/2018 20:33

Peregrina a miss is as good as a mile.
If you didn't win then how ever much you did wasn't enough.

Sorry crystal ball not working.
That;s why it;s called the Future, it's unknown.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 17/02/2018 20:34

I lost my job 25 years ago when they signed the Maastricht Treaty. Otherwise, I can't think of anything. I know that farmers and fishermen might have a different view.
