Get Huffy.. your a joke and we all know it.......
Like the parent that tells a child they didn't lose, as no no won the race..
Your not getting a prize this time, your going to have to accept what is going to happen to you no matter how traumatic you find it.

TalkinPeace · 20/02/2018 22:24

mummy
The most number of people ever voted
Statistics is clearly not your strong point.

The number of people on the electoral roll has risen over time.
In a general election there are lots of options so the number of votes for any one of them is lower.
In the referendum there were two choices

In 1975, 17,378,581 people voted to JOIN the EEC (67.23% of those who voted - out of an electorate of 40,086,677 )

In 2016 17,410,742 people voted to leave the EU (51.89% of those who voted - out of fan electorate of 46,500,001)

Looks like the 2016 was a bit of a damp squib really.
1975 was much more of a mandate.

mummmy2017 · 20/02/2018 22:25

Like a whining child for the last 18 months, demanding answers, what have you done with anything we have told you... NOTHING.

Why? because you have no power, no leverage and no control over anything at all.

The poison you spout hurts no one but yourselves, as we just shrug our shoulders and think here they go again...

mummmy2017 · 20/02/2018 22:28

17,378,581 IS LESS THAN 17,410,742...

Such a shame your so bad at basic Maths.

TalkinPeace · 20/02/2018 22:28

mummmy
Why are you getting so huffy about the numbers.

You admitted on the other thread that you had no idea what you actually wanted from Brexit

and that you did not expect it to impact on your day to day life at all.

So if we get Brexit overturned, it will not affect you either Grin

mummmy2017 · 20/02/2018 22:30

Why are you so slow to understand that it's going to happen..

Ah you poor dear do you want the smelling salts...

TalkinPeace · 20/02/2018 22:32

Why are you so slow to understand that it's going to happen..
WHAT is going to happen ?
Leave the Customs Union ...... are you sure ?
Leave Euratom ..... are you sure ?
Leave Europol ...... are you sure ?
Leave ESA ...... are you sure ?

We are Leaving the EU, and to be honest I really don't see how we can stay in the SM and the CU. So Brexit it is...

The rest we will just have to wait and see.

But I don't think your going to be too pleased with what does happen..

Motheroffourdragons
I'm cross, and trying not to swear.

I get called every name going for having voted for what I wanted and having got it understand that I have to just let it all be legally sorted out.

MN Remainers seem to be in some sort of dream world, thinking they can change things when they can't.

AgnesSkinner · 20/02/2018 22:46

Well it seems that the Brexiteers want to “amend” the GFA. Don’t think Dublin is very on board with this “idea”.

mummmy2017 · 20/02/2018 22:51

The law said that as there was never any thought of the UK coming out of the EU, then the GFA agreement did not take this position into consideration, so yes something will have to be amended, and you can't tell me that in 100 years time you would not have expected some things to have change, so this is not cast in stone, it's a living agreement that has already had some applied in a different way....

AgnesSkinner · 20/02/2018 23:08

The law said that as there was never any thought of the UK coming out of the EU, then the GFA agreement did not take this position into consideration

And which “law” is this? How can the UK unilaterally rewrite an international treaty just because a minority of people have voted for something that cannot be reconciled with it?

LondonMum8 · 20/02/2018 23:54

OK, so @mummy2017 has had a bad day and probably life, but... there is one thing that helps her cope, the illusion she won BIG TIME against those successful people in London etc. just because she voted for Brexit. SOMETHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THEM FOR ONCE!

Meanwhile she will be totally unaffected (of course).

Unless she is landed gentry etc. or a putinbot resident overseas (the former can be very safely excluded), she will be affected in a number of possible ways including through tax raises (if she pays them), further inevitable benefit and social services / NHS cuts, raising unemployment, higher cost of travel, inflation, unemployment. There is a significant consensus (although of course not unanimity) regarding the likelihood of these events particularly in case of hard Brexit. A remotely intelligent individual would at least accept the possibility of these undesirable effects of Brexit occurring and affecting them personally, instead of comforting themselves with imaginary immunity.

LondonMum8 · 21/02/2018 00:09

Well, this is certainly worth posting:

www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2018-02-20/brexit-needs-to-be-put-to-a-second-u-k-vote

Bearbehind · 21/02/2018 06:27

mummmy are you ever going to move on from 'we won, you lost'?

It's pathetic, particularly given you don't even understand what 'winning' means.

Your 5 minutes of glory was immediately after the referendum; now it's time for the hard stuff, i.e. actually sorting the details, and you are all woefully lacking.

Hasenstein · 21/02/2018 10:09

Mummy2017

Instead of gloating about winning and berating those on here who think differently, just consider what you said on the other (now full) thread, when you were asked how you would feel if the government decided that Brexit was unfeasibly damaging to the country's interests and that Article 50 should be rescinded.

You said you wouldn't accept it as "It would mean too many lies were being told ..."

Can you not for one moment see that this is precisely the view of the Referendum by those who voted remain? So why do you feel justified in denigrating that view when you admit you'd feel exactly the same if Brexit is reversed or even if it is watered down so far as to be pointless (BINO)?

DGRossetti · 21/02/2018 10:40

Of course the Parliamentarians won old-stylee on the battlefield. You can't really get much more WILL OF THE PEOPLE than that, can you ?

We still had the King back in less than 12 years ... so much for people power.

oops, sorry, facts .... I forget.

surferjet · 21/02/2018 10:49

But Hasenstein - someone had to lose. ( for want of a better word )
We are leaving the EU - even the most diehard remainers accept that now, so your best bet is to get a party together ( UKIP in reverse) & get campaigning.
But, you’ll need to give it at least 10 years to gather credible evidence that not being part of the EU is massively damaging.
You can’t convince people based on ‘we know best you idiots’ - you’ll need hard factual evidence. And at the moment you haven’t got that. You’ve got ( mostly ) biased opinions & forecasts, & that’s it.
It’s just as likely Brexit will be a success, which is why you always bring up NI as you know that’s the only real hurdle.
I doubt many remainers gave NI a second thought before the referendum.

DGRossetti · 21/02/2018 10:54

But Hasenstein - someone had to lose.

had to ?

As far as I can see the result could have (however unlikely) been exactly 50/50 with both sides getting exactly the same number of declared votes. Time for a quick prayer to St. Chad ?

DGRossetti · 21/02/2018 10:55

even the most diehard remainers accept that now

Wow - didn't realise that secret email system was working so you can speak for me. Alternatively maybe you don't ?

Angry
surferjet · 21/02/2018 11:05

If remainers are still not coping with this almost 2 years on, I strongly suggest counselling. No ordinary person should still be in turmoil over a trading bloc.
Maybe see what else is wrong / unsatisfactory in your life? as I suspect there’s a lot of projecting going on.

DGRossetti · 21/02/2018 11:06

Pesky human rights ...

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43140827

The Met Police has lost an appeal at the Supreme Court against two victims of black cab rapist John Worboys who won compensation for its failings.

(contd).

Thank goodness they're going , eh ?

LondonMum8 · 21/02/2018 11:25

It’s just as likely Brexit will be a success,

What a load of bollocks for want of a better word. So, forecasts are biased and worthless, any decision is basically a coin flip?

Fine, let's roll out Trident and start a war with the US or China. Sod forecasts, let's not talk UK's military might down, and of course we ruled the world before! Do you get it now, @surferjet?
