Because I'm hoping beyond hope that one of you might actually give us a reason why this process is worth it.

Sadly all that happens is you consistently prove you've been brainwashed by the bollocks propaganda you were fed.

Carolinesbeanies · 18/08/2017 22:14

Ive just given you lots of reasons..... I cant help if youre unable to understand.

fakenamefornow · 18/08/2017 22:26

I know of a benefit of leaving the EU.

I heard a farmer saying he wanted to remove the hedgerows around his fields and replace with wire stock fencing, this might sound trivial to me but it was an important issue for him and maintenance of his hedges cost him time and money. He said EU law stopped him doing this. If he's right about EU law then personally I hope it's a law we keep.

I heard somebody else say that within the EU, the UK can't ban the international transportation of live farm animals to slaughter. She would really like to see then end of this as she believed animals suffer en-route.

fakenamefornow · 18/08/2017 22:28

Shame for me these reasons cost me my job and future.

RandomlyGenerated · 18/08/2017 22:45

Hedgerows are protected under the Hedgerow Regs 1997 - which under the Withdrawal Bill will be established as UK legislation. Hopefully something that won't be scrapped as hedgerows are massively important for biodiversity.

Would be great to see the transportation of live animals for slaughter come to an end though - something to think about when the UK is rushing to deals with other countries, as Australia is one of the worst offenders.

mummmy2017 · 18/08/2017 22:57

Food prices are 20% higher in the EU this is an average figure, than the rest of the world, which means we could see some of this reflected on the high street. John Mills.

bathildabagshot1 · 18/08/2017 23:13

But none of the reasons you've given are valid, you confuse the EU with the Council of Europe, with the ECHR. You and others blame immigration for things it is not responsible for and you hide in patriotism and hyperbole when ever your ill justified points are critiqued.

I can tell you where Brexit will take us, its all there in the IEA report today as well as laid out in a book called Britania Unchained written by Kwasi Kwarteng, Priti Patel, Dominic Raab, Chris Skidmore and Elizabeth Truss.

Just so you know what they think of you and the other British people you seek to defend:

"The British are among the worst idlers in the world. We work among the lowest hours, we retire early and our productivity is poor. Whereas Indian children aspire to be doctors or businessmen, the British are more interested in football and pop music."

They seek a pure free market economy, and how do they propose to do this? Well by leaving the E.U, which would not allow them to cut employment regulation, saftey regulation and drive down levels of pay.

Slashing public spending and public services is another, along with increased privatisation.

Now remember who were VERY prominent in the Brexit campaign? Oh right ALL of these authors. Remind me where they are now? All in Governent postions, you think this isn't going to happen?

They will of course, like you, blame the E.U for being unreasonable, for not letting us have the cake and eat it deal. Which is exactly why they are asking for it, its an excuse, and dweeblings like you will fall for it.

In the end Brexit will lead to lower wages, less job security, poorer public services, increased inequality. Not better for the British person, or for your children but better for the elites which you so rile against.

In the end you allowed your nefarious and pathetic prejudices to swamp your tiny little minds. You mock those who challenge you and create strawman arguments to hide the fact that you cannot defend your inquitous decision to sell your country and its future.

You did so because you were too dim to realise that the charalatans knew exactly how to exploit you.

Enjoy your pyrrhic victory.

mummmy2017 · 18/08/2017 23:24

Or the UK could put money into industries that were put out of business by EU countries being able to produce goods far cheaper than us due to their massive hand outs from the EU budget.
British goods handmade quality items that people love the cashe
that comes with owning such a status symbol, could be promoted and traded far more.
Our Children might develop a work ethic, and surprise you.

bathildabagshot1 · 18/08/2017 23:29

"Or the UK could put money into industries that were put out of business by EU countries being able to produce goods far cheaper than us due to their massive hand outs from the EU budget."

Who got massive handouts from the E.U buget to put industries out of work? Please say Ford and Nestle? Cause you know that again is just not true.

"British goods handmade quality items that people love the cashe"

Yes, luxury goods, small employers, with historic cahce, not mass employers like car factories though.

"Our Children might develop a work ethic, and surprise you."

So you agree with the Brexiteer bunch that the British are lazy? Cause that was a quote, not what I think.

Figmentofmyimagination · 18/08/2017 23:59

Ah yes, Britania Unchained. I hope the likes of Mummy2017 are already familiar with this book. It has, after all, been available to read for at least 7 years - hiding in plain sight. Nobody has any excuse that they didn't see what was coming when they voted in June 2016 to enable these people.

mummmy2017 · 19/08/2017 00:05

But you say so many things and pretend they are your views, us poor simple souls, don't like to tell you as it's rude.

I do think our children are lazy by the way, snowflakes sums up quiet a few children I know, the farmers can't find people to harvest the food, so employ from the EU.. as the backbreaking work is too hard for the english that apply... So maybe they will wise up and do the work, after all not everyone can play football or sing.

bathildabagshot1 · 19/08/2017 00:14

"But you say so many things and pretend they are your views."

Let me be explicit, everything I say is my view. I'm rude pot calling the kettle, at least I can justify my position. Everytime.

You're lazy, you only seek that which confirms your bias and settle there.

BTW farmers have employed seasonal workers from European countries for decades.

Get your children in the fields then, mine are way over qualified.

CardinalSin · 19/08/2017 00:17

But but but, apparently, all leave voters knewexactly what they were voting for, because they'd all done lots of research and were not at all responding to the Daily Heil's dog whistle...

bathildabagshot1 · 19/08/2017 00:19

Of course.

When actually, the hilarity of these threads, and the Daily Mail is that the quitlings had no idea what they voted for or why.

They want to be "free", but from what they know not, nor why.

Carolinesbeanies · 19/08/2017 00:49

Why do you put yourselves through this guys? Wasnt it enough to lose once in June '16, to keep coming back to lose over and over again on SM?

Welcome to the Brexit Arms. TTQ! WineWineWineWine

The Brexit Arms. All welcome.
bathildabagshot1 · 19/08/2017 01:00

Cause you know, its fun to watch you hide your ignorance in the flag.

Its funny to see that you still have no idea what you've done.

Ah quitlings, quitlings, you're never going to admit that you were wrong but its funny to watch the mental gymnastics you pull to justify your reasons.

Oh and Caroline, I do it to criticise you, it just makes me feel a bit better that you know I hold you in utter contempt.

Carolinesbeanies · 19/08/2017 01:16

Oh Im well used to contemptuous remainers Bathilda, but glad youre feeling better.

We're still leaving Grin

The Brexit Arms. All welcome.
bathildabagshot1 · 19/08/2017 01:19

Yes, but not for the reasons or benefits that you voted for, hence it being a pyrrhic victory.

Its funny, because you say that remainers treat leavers with contempt, there have been plenty of nice people here who have not done that, yet you have mocked them, and refused to discuss things.

"We're still leaving"

Well it will be Brexit in name only, which tbf is looking likely, or Britania Unchained, the authors of whom also hold you, and the British people in contempt.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 19/08/2017 08:19

In the end you allowed your nefarious and pathetic prejudices to swamp your tiny little minds.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 19/08/2017 08:38

Over one year since the referendum, and the mn brexiteers are more excited than ever yet can't quite explain what exciting benefits they expect to see.

Awkward.

surferjet · 19/08/2017 08:40

But none of the reasons you've given are valid

< yawn >

To you maybe, but 52% of the voting public disagree with you. You still can't get your head around this 14 months later.
You can't accept that you haven't got total control over everyone. You lost. And you will never get over it.

End of.

Bearbehind · 19/08/2017 08:43

Ive just given you lots of reasons..... I cant help if youre unable to understand.

You haven't given lots of reasons at all caroline

At best you've attempted to counter my points by basically saying it'll all be fine- it'll work out some how.

Even if I accepted that, which I don't because I'm a bit picky about actually wanting a plan rather than crossing my fingers and hoping for the best, I was asking for things that will improve our lives outside the EU.

Things that will make leaving worthwhile. Things that make up for the economic pain that it's widely acknowledged, even by Leavers, we are going to have to go through.

Surely you have a couple that don't involve nonsense about sovereignty and control.

Surely there are some things you can explicitly point to which will definitely change and which people will feel the benefit from.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 19/08/2017 08:46

Cmon, you're a passionate believer in brexit- surely you've got some idea of how life is going to improve?

BrexitBritain · 19/08/2017 09:01

Tangible benefits - easy!

£350m more a week to spend on the NHS!
Fishing will boom again
Shipyards and industry will surge
Immigrants will leave - no more Polish shops!
Fewer traffic jams!
Henry hoover and proper light bulbs!

It'll be our country again! Can't wait!

Bearbehind · 19/08/2017 09:05

brexitbritain I can't decide if you're being serious or ironic.

Surely it's the latter.

No one is actually that deluded that it's the former are they? Hmm
