17m of us regularly pop champagne corks Ghost and are very comfortable with the unanimous support in RL. Yes, of course it would be nice to have a place online to share the celebrations and discuss the issues with likeminded buddies, (we do try to persist here) but social media (not just MN) doesnt support it.

I do think there will be a change in law regards social media, to be far more reflective of RL legalities, but thats a whole different topic.
But for now, you are absolutely correct. The leave voice online is shut down. But I wouldnt celebrate if I were you, this is a huge reason why Brexit happened in the first place. We still walk to the ballot box.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 17/08/2017 11:46

Shut down? Have you tried the mail, telegraph et al? Problem is leavers seem very angry these days on account of Brexit slowly turning to shit. Snowflakes eh? Grin

InfiniteSheldon · 17/08/2017 12:38

WineWineWine definitely not drinking on your own. I'm quite happy with the way things are going. Chin chin don't the doomsayers get you down.

Bearbehind · 17/08/2017 14:46

That is why you are doomed to failure bear, because your fundamental reasoning is wrong. All voters did was execise their right to be heard at a ballot box

Bugger me- that is where I've been going wrong.

And here was me thinking the vote was about whether we wanted to stay in the EU or not.

Turns out it was whether we felt our voice was being heard with regards to every single thing we think is wrong with the country.

Caroline here's a social media group you might like, where the Leave voice certainly isn't being "shut down". They use words like 'remoaners' and everything - just like in the Brexit Arms. I bet they even have some Mensa members in the group. There are plenty more groups like this out there and you don't even have to look very hard.

mummmy2017 · 17/08/2017 16:49

Still sticking their heads in the sand.
cheers, it makes it easier for us.

Carolinesbeanies · 17/08/2017 17:07

Oh Bear, you know youve just done a typical remainer double twist on that. Of course its the right to be heard ......on an In or Out question. We fought long and hard, as a democracy, to have the question asked. (Eternal free beers for the unwavering campaigners WineWineWineWineWine

The Brexit question was neither, racist, ageist, or class discriminatory. (Any of which would have made the whole thing utterly illegal). Answering In or Out, was neither racist, ageist or class discriminatory. (Which would have made the vote utterly illegal). No matter how disappointing those inconvenient truths are to you.

Here, have a beer. Theres lots to celebrate and youre in the right place for that WineWine

I relented and read the Guardian today. Couple of very entertaining pieces on the cult of centrist Remain from Owen and Paul. Lexit is kicking even if Paul is being dragged inch by inch - he must be going for persuasion by increments.

mummmy2017 · 17/08/2017 17:59

Every paper I read today speaks of the EU as the Nasty Party.
Each week there seems to a different PM saying about how they intend to shaft us,

Carolinesbeanies · 17/08/2017 18:25

"Good interview with ROI foreign minister (I think?) on Newsnight last night. Sounding pretty positive about the UK Government position papers. Good balanced programme in stark contrast ..."

Gosh howabout, Ive avoided the BBC for years, but thats a turn up. Did someone (msm) say they were putting a guest host in to try balance? (Bit vague sorry, it span past me somewhere recently)

Just off to check out the Guardian.... (I find TheG funny anyway, as they dont see their own irony) Wine

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 17/08/2017 18:40

Haven't finished catching up yet...but

When all you have left to do is swear, you should hang your head in shame....

Oh goodness me thats funny

I find some posters and their posts on here being leaver or remain very interesting

Some posters on here seem to be able to back their posts up

But as far as i can see mummy you back your posts up with 'leave won' if thats your closing argument and all you have left you should really hang your head in shame Smile

Does caroline come back...i like her posts, at least she debates a bit

I am a mere lurker...but i do like a good debate

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 17/08/2017 18:41

Will go and catch up

RandomlyGenerated · 17/08/2017 18:44

Good holiday rufus?

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 17/08/2017 18:49

Right page 21 now

Should point out that i dont care who voted what on this thread

I assume people voted for what they thought was best

mummmy2017 · 17/08/2017 18:50

Hi Rufus,
I get asked why I wanted to leave, I tell them things that matter to me, Ok as pointed out they are not problems the EU caused, but are problems we have while we are in the EU.
I keep saying about but we voted out, because it's like the vote never happened to some people on here, Move forwards and fight what you can, change when there is a chance, but all that happens is I get told your wrong, your wrong.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 17/08/2017 18:51

Hi randomly

Yes lovely thank you. Very hot, lovely warm swimming pool and sea. Lager and food...pretty much paradise, did not like putting toilet paper in a bin....do not miss that at all!!!!

Was a bit worried about all the delays reported at some airports

Had visions of it taking hours but it was fine

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 17/08/2017 19:01

Hey mummmy

I get that that's irritating

Thats why i dont debate because i dont have a clue Grin

Wouldnt know where to start..but i do find these two main threads interesting

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 17/08/2017 19:01

Oh and i am so not doing a mensa test

I do not want to know how stupid i am Grin

mummmy2017 · 17/08/2017 19:13

Rufus, Mensa is more about seeing links, and rhythms that spelling.
It tests free thinking. You do fine...
To be honest the remain should have won, was shocked beyond belief when it can out leave had won, but when you say that 25% of the UK didn't vote and if they had this would have been different, we get accused of trying to lay the blame on remain, but that's not what is meant. So then it's the leavers were lied to and stupid to believe the lies. There is always a reason why it didn't go the way we all expected, but no owning that a bit move effort of what was good in the EU could have moved the line.

Carolinesbeanies · 17/08/2017 20:05

Hi Rufus, very nice of you to say so, but utterly unfounded Grin

Welcome back. Hope you had a lovely break Wine

Mummy, your vote was just a legitimate, just as valid, and just as important as anyones. Thats what democracy is. Your view is just as valid as anyone elses. The fact it is then demanded, that you put your justifications into a 1000 word thesis, using scientific cross referencing, points of law and an Ishikawa diagram, is an issue for the 'demander' not the 'demandee'.

Really dont worry about it, normal people would thank you for stepping forward and sharing your view, when you have absolutely no obligation to do so. Have a Wine

Carolinesbeanies · 17/08/2017 20:20

Howabout, I enjoyed those articles. (We should have a Brexit read of the day!)

What I liked, apart from the obvious, (a few, 'no shit sherlock's in there) is that there has to be some reflection on responsibility, and both these guys are starting to get it.

Hope theres more of this filtering through msm soon.... and not the patronising guff weve had already.

SapphireStrange · 18/08/2017 09:21

I tell them things that matter to me, Ok as pointed out they are not problems the EU caused, but are problems we have while we are in the EU.

Do you think these problems will cease when we leave, then, even though they're not caused by the EU?

mummmy2017 · 18/08/2017 09:38

I think the shock to the Political Parties of the vote has already changed the system beyond belief.
Look at how young people have voted in the last election.
How they finally are saying that we older people voted and stole their perfect world.
For too long people have not bothered to vote, I may not like the Marches but people are reacting, and this can only mean the views to long ignored now have to be factored in to Politics.

Bearbehind · 18/08/2017 09:56

I genuinely don't understand the logic that once out of the EU everything that's wrong with the country can be improved even though it had nothing to do with the EU.

Why do you think the government are suddenly going to address issues when they've never bothered to do so before?

Why don't you think that the incredible amount of time and money just administering Brexit is going to actually drain resouces rather than put more money into the pot?
