I'll drink to that too Carolines Wine And that's English wine - from an amazing vineyard in south Staffordshire.

Ive popped a cork for Gibralta tonight WineWine

Gibralta Chief Minister Fabio Picardo

"Picardo said: “We have a decision of the British people to leave the EU. This requires us to change our relationship with the EU, we have a land border with Spain and there needs to be new arrangements to handle the number of people that cross that frontier everyday.
“Gibraltar will remain 100% British because we have to respect the result of the Brexit referendum and one in 1967 where we chose to remain entirely British and in 2002 the second referendum on joint sovereignty where 99% of us said we want to continue staying entirely British.”

Gib, despite a remain vote and under daily pressure from Spain (which they put up with .......regularly) 100% behind brexit. Good on you guys !

RandomlyGenerated · 17/07/2017 09:48

Don't see how you can possibly read that as Gibraltar is 100% behind Brexit? Picardo is having to ensure that The Brexiteers don't stiff Gibraltar by excluding them in the Brexit negotiations.

Gibraltar will “energetically and enthusiastically” work to deliver a successful Brexit, Chief Minister Fabian Picardo said on Sunday even as he warned that the Rock would not be “a victim” of the UK’s decision to leave the European Union.

“We’re not going to get in the way of Brexit, but we’re not going to be the victims of Brexit, that’s for sure.”

Ensuring country is not a victim of Brexit does not equal "100% behind Brexit".

Macrons war with his own people is starting. Gosh, get the august holidays over and autumn is going to see some serious kick back. You cant take a proud socialist nation, and sell them a capitalists dream by telling the worker, we're laying you off to pay for my bankers bonus'. This is all going to end in tears.

I was just wondering today if there will ever be a point at which brexiters will admit they got it wrong?

When the pound is worth half a dollar or less? When we have massive food shortages? When the NHS and welfare system is completely gone because we can't afford it? When we have civil war? When the rich brexiters abandon the sinking ship?

It hasn't happened to me yet, or any other leave voter that I know.
I know a few remain voters who are now glad we're leaving. Depends which circles you move in I suppose?

twofingerstoEverything · 24/07/2017 11:14

I know a few remain voters who are now glad we're leaving.

Really? What reasons did they give?

DoNotBringLulu · 24/07/2017 17:35

Theworldisfullofidiots the vote wasn't about the economy though, Farage told people there are more important things than the economy like your town, your street. Presumably it's ok to be worse off due to the belief in long term gains. I have a friend who voted with the belief there are trade opportunities and while she understood people who didn't vote for Brexit don't want to be worse off because of her vote, she thinks it will be worth it. I know people who have lost interest and just don't engage with what is going on now. Too boring, too confusing, too complicated.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 24/07/2017 19:52

Digby Jones (arch leaver) said it will be ok in 100 years time....

RandomlyGenerated · 24/07/2017 21:17

Too boring, too confusing, too complicated.

Add to that - too depressing.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 25/07/2017 07:08

I agree Random

surferjet · 25/07/2017 07:12

The anti-Brexit mob changed their minds.
They believe in democracy you see.

lonelyplanetmum · 25/07/2017 07:35

Yes indeed “If a democracy cannot change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy”. David Davis

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 25/07/2017 08:32

surfer

So they didn't give you a reason why they changed their mind

surferjet · 25/07/2017 08:48

Rufus
It was a controlled study of 2. so extremely significant. But basically, they just said they didn't like the way the remainers reacted.

Anyway, how are you?

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 25/07/2017 09:49

I'm fine thanks

Keeping well yourself?

It would have been interesting if it had been a 52 - 48 win for Remain, wouldn't it?

I seem to remember a certain gobby prominent leaver claiming that would be "unfinished business" and predicting pressure would grow for a re-run of the 23 June ballot.

surferjet · 25/07/2017 11:24

I'm fine thanks Rufus Smile

RandomlyGenerated
I don't know who said that? but the same thing would have happened if remain had won. Leave voters would have been told 'remain means remain' so stop moaning.

RandomlyGenerated · 25/07/2017 13:13

Surfer c'mon, it's a well known quote?

He is also described as a "leather faced buffoon" with his own LBC radio show.

(Hint - it's not James O'Brien).

surferjet · 25/07/2017 13:28

Oh him! I thought you meant someone on here. Grin

RandomlyGenerated · 25/07/2017 15:03

I wouldn't be that rude about someone on here Smile
