It's getting busier but it's still not huge

Kaija · 25/03/2017 12:08

They're coming!

Bearbehind · 25/03/2017 12:10

It must be big now then cos I'm still outside the Hilton!

Kaija · 25/03/2017 12:12

Yes think so - goes back as far as I can see

Bearbehind · 25/03/2017 12:37

I now think the reason it was so late moving from Hyde Park was because it is so big!

Kaija · 25/03/2017 12:48

Still at green park and a sea of blue and yellow as far as you can see. Been watching - about to join the flow now.

whatwouldrondo · 25/03/2017 12:57

The start of the march was delayed to noon, buses still arriving.

MsHooliesCardigan · 25/03/2017 13:03

Just got back - we were next to Grayson Perry [excited]. Here is my daughter carrying our placard. It was a great atmosphere and I confidently predict that Brexit will all be over by Monday Grin.

Just back too. I couldn't get a sense of how many were there. It felt big, but not as big as Iraq. Do we have any proper estimates?

user1486924355 · 25/03/2017 17:22

Shame on anyone who attended this march. It should have been postponed given the events of last week, if not out of respect to the victims, but because of the pressure put on the police in policing this farce. Very bad judgement indeed, given the recent events.

Thegirlinthefireplace · 25/03/2017 17:27

Got back an hour or so ago. It was huge and such a wonderful atmosphere of unity and togetherness.

jackny · 25/03/2017 17:27

What is the point of this march? The vote has been taken & the country has taken the decision to leave the EU. This March is just another call on the resources of our over stretched police force.

WindyScales · 25/03/2017 17:28

Shame on you user1486924355 we will not hide away in our homes. Getting on with our lives is exactly how to fight terrorism.
Literally everyone has been saying how resilient Londoners are. This protest is resilience in action.

user1486924355 · 25/03/2017 17:32

I do not suggest anyone hides away in their homes. What i'm saying is, that given the pressure on the police etc, I think the march should have been postponed.

Thegirlinthefireplace · 25/03/2017 17:34

User the police were consulted and approved the march going ahead. If they are fine with it why do you think you know better?

lalalonglegs · 25/03/2017 17:38

Nice try, user but since neither the victims of the terrorist attack nor the police asked for the demo to be cancelled it looks like it's just you and the Daily Mail that were against it Hmm. Shame on you for siding with a xenophobic, anti-democratic, right-wing propaganda machine.

user1486924355 · 25/03/2017 17:41

Lalalonglegs. I do not read the DM. You clearly do.

lalalonglegs · 25/03/2017 17:45

I may have seen the headline but, unlike you, I was able to use my critical faculties to work out it was a load of guff. It wasn't me who came onto a forum to berate people for taking part in a peaceful and democratic protest. And don't try and use a terrorist atrocity to silence people, that really is very low.

MissHooliesCardigan · 25/03/2017 17:46

user I don't even know where to begin with that ridiculous post. The whole atmosphere today was about tolerance, acceptance, co-operation and being stronger when we are united rather than divided. I am pretty sure that the victims' families would support those values and would not have wanted the march called off because of the actions of one hate fuelled individual. I walked over Westminster bridge to get to the march and there were literally hundreds of bunches of flowers tied to lamposts to commemerate the victims of the terrorist attacks along with loving messages.
London has a very long history of dealing with terrorism. By going ahead with the march today, we were giving a massive 'Fuck you' to the terrorists.

Bearbehind · 25/03/2017 17:52

Nice try user in sure you would face loved us all to stay at home but tough shit.

Today showed that we will not just accept what is thrown at us
