We have heard much talk about "the will of the people" recently. If you are not one of the people supporting the Tory hard Brexit or "Brexit at any cost", you may be interested in "Stop the silence", which gives a voice to the rest of us - those who voted Leave thinking of a Norway-style model, those who thought they were saving the NHS, those who voted Remain. Actually woman I doubt it will. People are getting sick of the snp and starting to not believe her utter bollocks as she is proving herself completely incapable of running day to day affairs in scotland.

Kahlua4me · 01/03/2017 21:29

Can someone please explain to me what this is all about.

We are a democratic country.
We had the general election and conservatives had majority vote so they are in power. We therefore have to trust them to make the right decisions for our country.

We then had the referendum and the majority vote was to leave.

Since when have we had a situation where the majority have won but we all keep arguing the decision?

I am certainly not being sarcastic, but genuinely confused

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 21:29

I think they did give it a second thought, particularly.in the south east. They don't forget the IRA that quickly.

They obviously had other reasons to vote out.

Many in scotland also voted out as did Wales... what is it with the english voters bollocks?

Breakdown of Good Friday agreement has everything to do with brexit actually anonymous. Not least because of duplicitous and unethical funding of leave campaign siphoned through DUP ( Bannon's buddies)

And I suppose you were abducted by aliens as well. The NI elections are because of failed green fuel subsidies. Good Grief the truth is out there.

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 21:31

Kahlua I agree...

woman12345 · 01/03/2017 21:34

Look more closely anon at why that power sharing really collapsed.

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 21:35

Yes anon I agree. People got all excited that they were fighting over something so boring Grin

woman12345 · 01/03/2017 21:36

Do you think a lot of SNP voters will switch to tories? Genuine question.

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 21:38

Greens and ukip

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 21:39

Some will go to rise

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 21:40

Labour will lose more to the tories yet

TheElementsSong · 01/03/2017 21:40

Dearie me, what's happened to the thread?

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 21:42

Snp people will go anywhere but the tories.

People trying to preserve the union will turn to the tories holding their noses.

woman12345 · 01/03/2017 21:42

What is rise, and is ukip doing well in Scotland?

How about the sectarian divide in Scotland, how do you think that plays out in voting for independence?

TheFullMrExit · 01/03/2017 21:46

I think UKIP is yesterdays news. They were a means to an end, and Farage always said that.

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 21:51

Ukip is not doing well at the moment no. Rise is even worse than the snp, the greens are my best bet, but they are also pro independence. It is a dodgy affair.

The tories are doing pretty well, considering the fact that they are more or less vilified by a lot of scots and are the official opposition. Nobody will admit to voting conservative publicly though. I think they will get more votes as things heat up.

woman12345 · 01/03/2017 21:52

Banks is funding a much more right wing version of ukip, anyway now, he has always said he wants to destroy the tories.
SNP used to be the protestant party, I wonder if that's still the case.

woman12345 · 01/03/2017 21:53

My sense is that the tories may be on their way back in Scotland, interesting, to see how that plays out with Banks' new party.

Why does the SNP always complain about Tory cuts but never put up taxes? Oh wait, is it because they like 'Tory cuts' which they think creates a bogey man to scare people into independence?

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 22:23

Yes but the business rates are skyrocketing. They are hitting businesses so hard there will be no jobs as they will go under. They are very anti business. The hospitality sector will suffer badly. The business community on the whole are not massively pro independence.

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 22:24

Yes... exactly anon

woman12345 · 01/03/2017 22:26

And that the tories are English.Grin

YERerseISootTHEwindy · 01/03/2017 22:33

Yes indeed woman. It is a popular sweary sentence.

English tory (insert expletive here) Grin

woman12345 · 01/03/2017 22:34

I know!
