If you voted for "Brexit at any cost" this will not be of any interest to you. If you voted Leave because you wanted the best for your family and UK, or you voted Remain, please consider supporting Gina Miller's campaign. She is pushing for a meaningful Parliamentary vote at the end of Brexit negotiations, ie with an option to remain in the EU if the deal we get isn't as good as what we have already. Most of my friends who voted Leave have said "Yeah, I wouldn't mind", as however we voted, most of us want the best for our children.

Gina Miller, professional beard for rich globalists. If you want to sign a petition that says the votes of the majority are not worth shit you have to ask yourself not only what kind of person you are...but where it goes from here - what do you think will happen if a democratic vote is overturned by the wealthy?

Niamer · 26/02/2017 19:50

I'll put you down as a "may be" Flumpernickel...

Takeittotheboss · 26/02/2017 19:54

It may have been a democratic vote, but I am for taking back some sovereignty and actually having an input into the process and not damaging the country just because of "Brexit means Brexit" May's political madness. Plus the inadequacy of the House of Commons to actually even make any effort to do their jobs.
I'll sign this and any other document putting Country before dogma or selfishness.

TheFullMrexit · 26/02/2017 19:54

I want my dc to have a vote that means something. That means a transparent clear type of government that starts and ends with Westminster. For of and by the people of the UK. So I couldn't possibly sign away with this cherished hard won rite and sign up to anything that would want to rob my children of this.

Niamer · 26/02/2017 19:55

*boredofbrexit" I don't believe that's what the petition is saying. Article 50 is being triggered, we are negotiating to leave the EU. That is the plan. We have no idea how the economy will fare over the next two years, we don't no what the deal will look like. If by that point, it looks like it was a rubbish idea after all, should there by any opportunity for discussion, a change of mind that that point, in your opinion? If not when would it be reasonable for people like me to start having a voice again?

A 4 DOCUMENT, has the eu improved!! It's got far far far worse.

CatsBatsEars · 26/02/2017 19:57

theFullMrExit in what respect has the EU got far far worse? I agree it is not flawless, but are you aware of any of the benefits of EU membership?

OP posts:
boredofbrexit · 26/02/2017 20:03

Niamer your voice should be directed at supporting the country make its way as a successful independent country, not backing a shabby back door to staying in the EU against the will of the majority vote.

Flumpernickel · 26/02/2017 20:07

Actually Niamer put me down for a

            NOPE.
WrongTrouser · 26/02/2017 20:09

Niamer Thanks for clarifying - I had misunderstood what you meant.

TheFullMrexit · 26/02/2017 20:14

This is what surprises me,, you brush off all the ills of this federalist monothilithic block as being not perfect Hmm. I find it scary, dangerous, disingenuous led by mad politicians.

TheFullMrexit · 26/02/2017 20:15

I want my dc vote to mean something, nothing Is worth trading political freedom for, nothing and least of all the Eu

Bolshybookworm · 26/02/2017 20:19

That's basically how I feel about the hard right of the Tory party who appear to be running our country into the ground full

I'd trust the EU over that bunch of overinflated incompetents anyday.

AllTheLight · 26/02/2017 20:26

Signed

Niamer · 26/02/2017 20:27

you brush off all the ills of this federalist monothilithic block No I am not brushing them off - but I would like to know what they are specifically and how you have found it scary and dangerous. I am fairly dopey at times, but I can honestly say I have never in my several decades felt threatened by the EU. Equally I have never felt without political freedom. Have you? And in what way? And are you aware of any benefits of EU membership?

Flumper OK Smile

Bolshy exactly - and the hard right of the party feels like most of them ATM.

caroldecker · 26/02/2017 20:34

AFAIK, there is no way too back out of the article 50 declaration. The only option would be to re-apply to join (including getting the Euro etc).

As there will be a GE in 2020, it is perfectly possible for a party to run on re-entering the EU as a manifesto commitment and win an election.

The only option to the government's negotiated position can only be WHO rules. It is not in the power of the UK government to change that fact.

caroldecker · 26/02/2017 20:34

WTO not WHO

Niamer · 26/02/2017 20:42

your voice should be directed at supporting the country make its way as a successful independent country
How would I do that?

I am bitterly upset about Brexit for multiple reasons and it would be pretty much impossible for me to embrace it. But I am interested to know what you think I could be doing if I felt able.

OP posts:
TheFullMrexit · 26/02/2017 20:44

Ah yes bolshy and what happens when the eu is filled with the type of politicians that terrify you. What will you do?we can vote the tories out. We can vote put any party we don't like. You would be sign away your children's polictal freedom for that?

surferjet · 26/02/2017 20:46

I wish someone would start a petition to send this woman on a long holiday to Mars or somewhere - she's such an annoying bore.
Gina Miller - get over it love.

TheFullMrexit · 26/02/2017 20:48

It thinks you need to do someone googling op, get someone information before you start on crusades like this.

Kaija · 26/02/2017 20:48

"Ah yes bolshy and what happens when the eu is filled with the type of politicians that terrify you."

You mean like Marine Le Pen who has showered praise on Theresa May and her policies?

Niamer · 26/02/2017 20:48

As there will be a GE in 2020, it is perfectly possible for a party to run on re-entering the EU as a manifesto commitment and win an election

True, but there is no guarantee we would be allowed back in, and certainly not with the favourable terms we have at present.
