Oh definitely - the leave vote was strongest in labour areas, so TB calling on remainers to 'rise up' is doing even more damage to the Labour Party. Blair is speaking to his guardian reading mates & totally ignoring his core voters in the north ( again ) so step in ukip ( again ) you couldn't make it up.
JC is a man of principle and won't fuck his people over. He's exactly what the Labour Party needs.

GrinGrin apparently even guardian had picked up on Blair putting on a false accent!! He had mockney accent. Confused

TheFullMrexit · 18/02/2017 08:48

You couldn't make it up no.

surferjet · 18/02/2017 08:49

Oh cringe - he'll have a hipster beard next week.

"...Blair even rediscovered his gift for analogy, claiming the Leave vote was like a ‘house swap’. “They said ‘yep, we wanna swap our house’, but they hadn’t seen the other one.”
^Sounding like the Blair of old, complete with glottal stops and Estuary English, he added: “But here’s the thing. Now they’re gonna go ‘n’ see it. Now they are gonna to visit the neighbourhood.”
The Remainers in the audience loved that bit, and laughed out loud.
“The idea that in those circumstances, if they decide ‘I’m not really likin’ this neighbourhood’…they can’t change their mind? Who made that rule?” Cue more guffaws.^.."

Yep - they really hate the 'thickos' don't they.

TheFullMrexit · 18/02/2017 09:24

Semi I am thick. I don't understand his.. They are gonna go and visit the neighbourhood?! What does he mean!

howabout · 18/02/2017 09:30

I have slept on the TB problem and the penny has dropped! He is the saviour of JC and the Labour Party. If they should lose either Stoke or Copeland to the Tories or UKIP they can now blame TB rather than their own ineptitude over Art50. Then they can demonise him further to get properly on the Lexit bus.

Things can only get better. Smile

surferjet · 18/02/2017 09:39

That's why remainers are angry. They're so used to getting their own way that they just can't cope with all this. What are they going to do once article 50 is triggered next month? ( big party in the pub that night! )
They'll spend the rest of their lives bitter and angry by the looks of it.

I like JC, I know he's an Islingtonista but he's old school. Just wondering who they've got lined up to replace him? I'm out of touch with the up & coming Labour MP's.

I think the audience were just really caught up in the moment - loving the affected 'common people' accent - enjoying being able to laugh convivially at the poor stupid racist thicko leavers, amongst like minded 'good' people.

Cos obvs it's totes ok to mock & stereotype an entire subsection of people, so long as the good 'liberal' folk have pre-approved the sub-section first.

And we all know how much fun it is to mock the 'stupid', don't we!!

howabout · 18/02/2017 09:50

I am not that in touch either. If I were FF, GS, DS and KH I would quite happily be taking all the Lexit flack on behalf of the next generation while JC and JMD muddle along the tightrope. Hopefully TM and her 3 musketeers get on and sort a reasonable exit strategy and then the new Labour team can concentrate on developing the domestic policies to sort the North without getting sidetracked.

Per the Guardian "Returning from a day of campaigning in Stoke, Caroline Flint, the Labour MP for Don Valley and a former minister under Blair, said: “It’s not about whether Tony Blair is entitled to an opinion or whether it was this week or next week, it’s about whether the advice he is giving is right. I think it is bad advice, because what Tony seems to be advocating is leaving is not inevitable and if people work hard enough, he’s hoping he can force with others a second referendum. My view is that is asking for a two-year campaign to undermine the vote, when I think we need to respect the vote and work hard to get the best deal.”"

This could be the issue which gives ex-Blair government ministers an opportunity to distance themselves from TB?

Don't at all disagree with your sentiments on TB Surfer.

TheFullMrexit · 18/02/2017 10:52

Totally agree without Don Valley persons sentiment. Work hard to get the best deal!

Interesting angle on that article semi. The return of the rock star, that pic of him on guitar. YY enjoying the moment, messiah has returned, loved the look into my eyes not around the comment

GhostofFrankGrimes · 18/02/2017 11:02

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iraq/1405999/Duncan-Smith-supports-Iraq-action.html

The Conservative leader insisted that the case for British involvement was not based on "subservience" to Washington but on British national interest.

Some things never change eh?

surferjet · 18/02/2017 11:17

Stop shifting the blame GhostofFrankGrimes - the Conservative party is not known as an anti war party, Labour are. TB was the one who took us to war.
Own your own crap.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 18/02/2017 11:28

Nobody is shifting the blame - people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. If we are so horrified about the Iraq war why in the Brexit brave new world is the UK selling arms to Turkey and turning a blind eye to child refugees? You can't have your cake and eat it.

For every dodgy dossier there is a big red bus.

Be consistent. If you dislike dishonest politicians then condemn Iraq and the Brexit campaign. If you condemn war then speak out about Iraq and selling arms to Saudi.

TheFullMrexit · 18/02/2017 11:54

Why is merkel suckling up to turkey? Eu biggest client?? I am swing voter, I as ashamed to admit I was suckled into Blair eyes too (ASHAMED EMOTION)

TheFullMrexit · 18/02/2017 11:54

You really can't equate random figures on bus to an actual doggy dossier

TheFullMrexit · 18/02/2017 11:58

BlushGrin ok suckling doggies. Shall I give up now t Grin

GhostofFrankGrimes · 18/02/2017 11:58

They weren't random figures at the time though were they? Rather a very useful propaganda tool.

TheFullMrexit · 18/02/2017 12:51

At time of elections it's known and accepted you will get exaggerated claims. Twas ever thus. Nothing new. The remain side did it too. However I am not aware of the lying, forging and creating of false dossiers to actually got to war on?
