I think a lot of those on the other thread are from the EU or have family from EU countries and are only concerned about their own lives and whether they can stay here or some are Brits living in EU countries and worry they may have to come back. They are just wrapping it up as concern for the country.

AgathaRaisonDetra · 12/02/2017 16:45

Agrees with boredofbrexit. Oh, how I agree

surferjet · 12/02/2017 16:58

Tryingtosaveup
Has to be. No average remain voter would be this angry 8 months on.
Self interest 100%.

OP posts:
boredofbrexit · 12/02/2017 16:59

Trying - They are the useful idiots of the EU and George Soros and all the other globalists.

boredofbrexit · 12/02/2017 17:01

Maybe their rage stems from mortification that they are being played.

SemiPermanent · 12/02/2017 17:04

It's like fucking Groundhog Day on those threads now.

Self interest, dressed up as 'concern' absolutely.

surferjet · 12/02/2017 17:07

The closer we get to A50 the angrier some of them are getting - it's painful to watch.
Which is why all these court cases and petitions have done more harm than good for the fragile remainer - it's just giving them false hope & prolonging their distress.
Brexit meant Brexit from day one & they have to find a way of coming to terms with it.

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 12/02/2017 17:09

This thread drives me insane because your self justification and drivel is absolute bollocks;

I'm 100% British

I have no ties with anyone or anything in the rest of the EU

I can afford to ride the impact of inflation better than many

And yes, 8 months on I'm still fucking angry.

WrongTrouser · 12/02/2017 17:10

I've brought this up before but I'd just like to remind all patrons of the Arms that, as mentioned on the WM threads whilst discussing what is discussed in the Arms, talking about one thread on the other apparently is poor form Grin

surferjet · 12/02/2017 17:16

I'm cool with Red & anyone else who posts over there - the poster who called us all filthy pigs crossed a line imo but she's obviously got her own issues - they're all welcome here though.

OP posts:
boredofbrexit · 12/02/2017 17:16

Grin natch

SemiPermanent · 12/02/2017 17:18

🐻 - why are you back with the 🐷 🐷??

As I've said a million times, I don't give a toss where people are from or what their views are, so your 'I'm 100% British' declaration is neither here nor there.

What I do give a toss about is the shitty, nasty way that some posters, who appear to feel they have some sort of moral superiority due to voting the 'right' way, treat others.

For example:

"...your self justification and drivel is absolute bollocks..."

Do you have any sense of self-awareness?

SemiPermanent · 12/02/2017 17:20

Line was not just crossed, but jumped all over as far as I'm concerned.

Filthy pigs, racists, harpies, xenophobes, fuckwits, stupid etc etc etc

Fucking offensive shit.
Repeatedly.

surferjet · 12/02/2017 17:24

The reaction to Brexit & Donald Trump has been a real eye-opener that's for sure.
& not in a good way.

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 12/02/2017 17:24

semi you are one of the worst offenders for starting a discussion then disappearing when you are asked to clarify your position.

I've lost count of the number of times you've done it.

This thread has now descended into saying everyone on the WM thread is only concerned for their own well being because they're either non British here or British in the EU.

That's why I posted I was British- that's why it's relevant.

If you don't give a toss where people are from, why don't you pull your fellow posters up on that?

SemiPermanent · 12/02/2017 17:27

*semi you are one of the worst offenders for starting a discussion then disappearing when you are asked to clarify your position.

I've lost count of the number of times you've done it.*

And?
So what?

I must have missed the contract that said I absolutely must respond to everything.

I'm done replying.

I have made that abundantly clear several times.

You lost me today at drivel.

I was lost yesterday at stupid racist.

And so on, and so on, and so on.

boredofbrexit · 12/02/2017 17:29

Bear, that is the POV of one poster.
And we don't pull people up about having an alternative opinion because we are tolerant and respectful and open minded.
But most of all we don't take ourselves too seriously while chatting on an internet forum.

And why are you counting semi's posts - thats a bit stasi.

Your use of 'descended' speaks volumes.

MrsPeterDoherty · 12/02/2017 17:29

No average remain voter would be this angry 8 months on.

I'm an average remain voter, and I'm getting angrier and angrier as we get closer to the cliff edge that we're meant to be leaping off joyously.

If I hear TMay say "the people have decided" or "65 million people are supporting Brexit" one more time, I shall scream. I've shouted "cunt" at the TV/radio more times than I can count.

I shall be marching in March so she will not be able to deny there is opposition to this suicidal brexit

boredofbrexit · 12/02/2017 17:30

Thats nice, wife of pete.

surferjet · 12/02/2017 17:35

Ok - I get that people are still angry, but sooner or later we all have to pull together & make Brexit work - what else is there to do?
You can't carry this anger around with you forever.

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 12/02/2017 17:35

And we don't pull people up about having an alternative opinion because we are tolerant and respectful and open minded.

bored that's hysterical because you probably make the most antagonistic and derisory comments about Remainers.

Bearbehind · 12/02/2017 17:36

surfer I've always had a a bizarre admiration for your unfloundering assertion this is the right path.

The way forward is proving it.

And that doesn't mean proving people who shop in Gucci will be just fine.

boredofbrexit · 12/02/2017 17:39

Ever been in an infinity pool?
Thought you might swim off the cliff edge?
Yeah?
Then realised it was actually thought of and constructed that way, nice and strong, well designed and thought out and when you plucked up the nerve to travel in what you thought was a dangerous direction, you realised the danger was just all in your own head, because of what you had conditioned yourself to see and think?
And felt a bit silly?

Bearbehind · 12/02/2017 17:43

ok bored

Why should I feel a bit silly?

What is the danger in my own head?

What is the nice and strong, well designed and well thought out element of Brexit?

boredofbrexit · 12/02/2017 17:53

Actually Bear that was drafted in response to the mood of the thread when Mrs P. interjected.

I don't think you should feel silly, I don't get the feeling you are terrified, just angry at what you feel was an unqualufied decision being taken which was contrary to your thinking/research etc.
But the entrenched opinion part I can level at you. There is no current or past economic model that can be drawn upon to substantiate the likely effects of withdrawal from the EU as there are not enough constenants and too many variables.
A vote to stay would not guarantee the status quo and you know that. Not even the economic status quo, let alone the sociopolitical one.
