The people voted to cut immigration and put more money into the NHS. They did not vote for the break up of the Union, a finished economy, renewed tensions in Northtern Ireland. Maybe if the people had been told the truth and had still voted to Leave, maybe then a quick trigger would be right, but why trigger something that can't deliver what was promised?

Lol. With no clear leadership to get a deal through? We're going to be shafted in any Brexit negotiations regardless, but the idea of starting them with no plan or leadership is ludicrous

We'll only have 2 years post article 50 to negotiate on the myriad of thousands of issues covered by EU membership.

How can we negotiate on those now when we haven't had the debate to reach a majority decision about what we want to negotiate for and what compromises we are prepared to make to secure or tick list.

I personally find the idea of doing nothing until we have a functioning Governmemt and Opposition party a much more appealing idea.

I've seen some ridiculous things posted regarding Brexit. This is perhaps the most naive yet.

We will need every day of those 2 years to try and negotiate something vaguely beneficial to the uk. We really need to have an idea of what we are negotiating for before we start.

Would have been nice to have known what we would negotiate for before we all voted, but hey.

And yes. A functioning parliament would probably help too. Hopefully with a viable opposition party.

But please, don't let that stop us rampaging ahead. We're so great we will get everything we want with no conditions, no negotiation required!

You've got to be kidding. You are one of those people who would sink the British isles. Read up on the negotiation for the free-trade agreement between Canada and the EU... and see how long that has been going on for.

Hell no, we need a plan first and more crucially a Govt that knows what it is doing. This lot (and the main opposition) are not inspiring confidence at the moment.
