Corbyn is facing a large rally.

The problem?

Half the people there appear to be members of the Socialist Workers Party and there's the minor point that he is Labour Party leader....

Hmmmm.

Mitzy Yes, Crabb is absolutely like that from everything I've seen. And rather smug as well.

I do think there will be some interesting developments over the next two days.

I still can hardly believe that David Cameron said this today:

During a Commons debate on Friday’s vote, David Cameron, the outgoing prime minister, indicated that he too supported some form of Scottish deal with the EU while staying as part of the UK. He told the Scottish National party’s Westminster leader, Angus Robertson: “Scotland benefits from being in two single markets, the United Kingdom and the European Union, and in my view the best outcome is to try to keep Scotland in both.”
www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/jun/27/scottish-labour-seeks-possibility-federal-uk-brexit-aftermath

Is he saying that Scotland should go ahead and negotiate its own association with the EU (which is what it sounds like in the context of the article, in which case: wow!), or is he being reassuring like Boris in the Telegraph yesterday that Brexit won't mean any change in access to the single market for any part of the UK?

Still smarting about their drubbing in the last election

So is David Cameron.

He wouldn't be in this mess if they hadn't lost so badly.

I also heard that in Scotland, the supporters of the SNP are the most Outist. Bit of a complication for the fish woman.

Is he saying that Scotland should go ahead and negotiate its own association with the EU?

He seems to be, yes.

But he is pro-Union and pro-Europe, so it's consistent.

Thanks for new thread. The only thing I can bear to read in my despair.
I am so angry with Boris. His article in the telegraph today implies he wants the single market plus freedom of movement. So all this pain and economic loss just so we don't have to deal with the European courts? It's bloody ridiculous.
As for Tory leader I don't know much about Crabb. I would vote for Teresa may if it was up to me. I know quite a few remainers signing up for Tory party membership so they can have a say. I would vote for any scenario that could possible stop us exiting.

David Cameron calling on a collapsing parties to bring the country together would be ironically amusing if it wasn't so frightening.

At this rate all that will be left are the LibDems as there aren't enough of them to fracture. I'm now frankly terrified that Nigel will kickstart UKIP as the party of the people or some such nonsense and win a landslide.

Please, please tell me I'm delusional.

It's a depressing time to be British.

There's not one fucking person who I look at and think 'he/she's the one for this job!'

I don't think my faith in the uk government has ever been lower. I mean, I knew they were sly cunts but I did think that generally they wouldn't throw the uk away in some sort of political pissing contest.

Did no one consider the possibility (apart from the Bank of England) that a brexit vote would win?

Roy Hodgson has just resigned. That frees him up for Brexit negotiations.

If three months ago someone had told you that political allegiances were down to whether you were a Brexiteer, a Bremainer or a Bregretter you'd have looked at them as if they were talking about 1984 or a Clockwork Orange.

Confused

Setting sturgeon off to let Scotland have that kind of deal with the EU is setting them up for independence though. Financial services will move to Edinburgh in a heart beat, Edinburgh will be the new London, Scotland can then easily afford to leave Uk, leaving England wales impoverished.

Maybe the SNP would get a parliamentary majority and we could have Sturgeon as PM??!! (I am on the Wine)

GoudyStout - One of the Guardian comments here states that Parliament has to repeal the 1972 European Communities Act, which took us into the EU in the first place, and MPs can refuse to do so if they believe that it is not in the national interest.

I think the idea is that if we repeal ECA we don't need to do the whole article 50 thing, we just say we're done. While technically this looks to be true it would mean no kind of EEA deal had been done, and would almost certainly mean even more people pissed off at us.

Jeremy hunt column in the Telegraph tomorrow saying his leadership proposal is UK should negotiate poss exit deal with EU (eg Free Trade Agreement) and put that choice to public in new referendum (vs full staying) ( if I understand the colum properly....)

Along with the Hannan guy on BBC earlier, they seem to be trying to walk back the exit now they've stared over the cliff and seen the options

Yes, because Jeremy Hunt is well known to be trustworthy. I suspect more people would be inclined to push him over that cliff he's staring over.
