Are there are some very sore losers after the EU Ref result?

brodchengretchen · 27/06/2016 09:03

Should we now challenge parliamentary elections too if we don't like the result on the basis that some people are too lower class/poor/stupid to make a proper first time vote?

Or could that be a tad arrogant and patronising to the the section of the electorate that cast their vote and won, 'ignorant numpties' or not?

Ineed Why are you being so negative? Grin You sore loser you!

eyebrowse · 27/06/2016 21:12

In a general election we are basically asked who we want to make decisions for us.

In this case we were asked to make an extremely complex decision ourselves

If I was asked whether or not the offside rule should be abolished in football, I might say it should be abolished because it is a bit complicated. However I have very little interest in or understanding of football.

It now appears that for Boris and Gove leaving the EU means simply abandoning the EU rules (which have given us good working conditions and protected us from shoddy traders) and there will be no new money for education and health and no change in immigration because they want the single market. Yet most people were voting on immigration

smallfox1980 · 27/06/2016 21:15

Yup triple A status lost, see there goes a load of your extra money for the NHS, in interest payments.

Idiots.

Valentine2 · 27/06/2016 21:26

BR, by 'next time' I mean what the ruling elite will accept as their definition of democracy. With reference to that, the taxpayer stumped up at least £9m for last week's effort, add to that a manifesto for each side to each household (as with general election).*

OP
I read until this point and lost it. Around 2 hours ago, I posted somewhere that overall, the result of this referendum has wiped off over 2 trillion dollars from world markets and that is more than the Lehman Brothers' 2008 one.
Who is the COCK here , me or you?

kirinm · 28/06/2016 08:51

Tax cuts and cuts to public spending announced today. Hope all those who are willing to see through a recession have deep pockets.

Blue4ever · 28/06/2016 08:58

Op, I know there has been 8 pages of posts since your initial 'question' but my answer simply is, to all those who voted Brexit to 'get their England back' (and all those who clapped) REALLY knew what they were voting for? Really really? Honestly?

And all those who really believed that £350 million would be spent on the NHS, do you think they really really knew what they voted for?

Moonax · 28/06/2016 09:06

I don't really think it's about being a sore loser. It's about feeling hugely adrift because there doesn't appear to be an actual plan, government is imploding and everyone seems to be making it up as they go along.

I voted remain, but would have felt a lot less unhappy with the result if the leave camp had had a credible plan in place for what to do next. Uncertainty like this is frightening.

originalmavis · 28/06/2016 09:09

Blue - don't forget Wales. I assume the Welsh wanted Wales back too.

Blue4ever · 28/06/2016 09:11

Oh yes. And the Scots...

roarfeckingroar · 28/06/2016 09:13

I haven't stopped smiling.
So, so bloody happy.

roarfeckingroar · 28/06/2016 09:20

No tax or spending cuts have been announced today.

Just further exodus of the Labour front bench. This week could not get better.

originalmavis · 28/06/2016 09:22

Don't worry, it won't last.

So whats your plan when when the jobs and investment go? When bloody Boris takes over? When the price of food goes up because it's imported? When the price of holidays rise? When you have fuck all pension because it was invested in the stock market? When your kids leave school and can't get a job because companies are pulling out and nobody is investing or setting business here?

Maybe your kids can learn German and work there because that's where companies will move and they can go and work... oh hang in, can they?

sorenofthejnaii · 28/06/2016 09:23

No tax or spending cuts have been announced today

You did hear George Osbourne explain that whoever is in charge will need an Autumn statement once public finances are known to look at public spending?

Remember - it's only been a few days. Public finances are going to suffer and there will be real effects.

MotherOfBleach · 28/06/2016 09:25

No tax rises or spending cuts, roar? Really? You're sure about that?

I mean this dude right here, he's just lying?

I'm actually, literally frightened by the stupidity of some leave voters.

flippinada · 28/06/2016 09:25

This must be the positive thinking the leave camp are all so keen on.

It's not that long past 9:00 am. Plenty of time left to announce... well, who knows. Nobody seems to know what they're actually doing.

roarfeckingroar · 28/06/2016 09:27

Ah sorry. I'm abroad and not entirely up to date on all this but sky news aren't reporting anything about cuts

roarfeckingroar · 28/06/2016 09:29

People lived and worked and travelled abroad before political union.

I used to be a Brussels based Eurocrat. It is the biggest reason I voted to leave. We had zero power or influence and too many people on too high tax free salaries.

sorenofthejnaii · 28/06/2016 09:29

I am also looking forward to seeing how all these commitments to the NHS and to maintain EU level of funding to areas and services will hold up when the Government income goes down - at least for the next few years.

Net EU spending was about 1% of Government spending. We also spend about 3% on our interest payments. I bet that goes up with our change in credit rating and the value of the pound.

The economy will shrink and so will Govt income. So how do Leave campaigners propose making up that difference to cover what they promised in a shrinking economy?

sorenofthejnaii · 28/06/2016 09:31

Ah sorry. I'm abroad and not entirely up to date on all this but sky news aren't reporting anything about cuts

So you missed George Osbourne saying that whoever is in charge will have to make difficult spending decisions in the Autumn statement given the fall in public finances?

Still, that's ok. We're out of the EU, aren't we?

Still laughing?

smallfox1980 · 28/06/2016 10:10

Laughing at the Brexiteers yes.

I'd love to know where Springingintoaction is.. "All will be fine, project fear!" etc

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 28/06/2016 10:15

The sale of my flat just fell through - entirely down to uncertainty re leaving EU and fallout.

I'm devastated. Me and 2 DC live in one bed flat and desperately need to move.

ThereIsIron · 28/06/2016 10:20

Not sore losers. Just people who weren't blinded by the utter bullshit spouted by both sides over the course of the campaign.

BlunderWomansCat · 28/06/2016 10:24

Economy fucked
Petrol prices going up in the next few days
Tax rises imminent
Spending cuts imminent
Thank you very much Confused
