And then posts like yours and MrsB's change my mind! Are a large amount of people really sitting quietly on their 'leave' vote? I can't see it.

In truth no one knows. It isn't partly political so there aren't those usual well x all ways votes y

There are people that have I know including family who are remain that I thought would vote leave and vice versa.

The poles are so close and all are giving warnings with the predictions.

OrangesandLemonsNow · 21/06/2016 05:39

Me neither, especially if this website and other social media outlets is anything to go by, the leavers aren't exactly quiet, they are the ones making all the noise and some leave obsessives seem to spend every waking hour pumping out anti-Eu diatribes. I wish they would be bloody quiet sometimes.

Problem is that here and SM is like talking into echo chambers.

That was a big issue with the GE and why many on here and social media were so utterly convinced Labour would win.

No one can see into the future. and if they can can I have the lottery numbers please Wink

Littlemisslovesspiders · 21/06/2016 05:40

Round here it is Remain that won't pipe down Wink

AmyInTheBoonies · 21/06/2016 05:47

I live in an area where everyone seems to be voting leave but I think overall remain will win - I'll guess 55%.

Marymaymay · 21/06/2016 06:10

Remain will win.

53/47

mrsvilliers · 21/06/2016 06:41

Remain. Interested to see by what margin though.

As it happen I am a 'quiet leaver'. If I announced I was Brexit on SM I would get attacked on all sides so I am keeping it to myself. I'm not sure how many of us there are though!

ClashCityRocker · 21/06/2016 06:46

I think remain due to the number of undecideds - I think they will get a higher proportion as 'not sure' tends to equate with 'stick to the status quo'.

Wouldn't be shocked by a leave vote though.

PaintedDrivesAndPolishedGrass · 21/06/2016 06:49

I'm leave but think the result will be remain just because the government is corrupt.

LurcioAgain · 21/06/2016 06:50

Remain by a 10% margin.

There's a v good article by Bagehot in the Economist on this - it's the economy which will ultimately swing it, people just won't risk a recession.

(He also mentions the fact that as a polling technique, asking people howthey tthink others will vote rather than how they themselves intend to vote is a much more accurate predictor Grin).

HooseRice · 21/06/2016 06:51

55% remain/45% go

Plausible and worked in the past 😄

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 21/06/2016 06:58

I think remain will win and by a higher margin than imagined. For the simple reason that the people who tend to complain about the status quo (whatever that is, at whatever time) are the same ones who don't vote in the end. The vast majority of leave supporters (like it or not) are the disenfranchised, ill-informed, gutter press readers. They are also theoretically, the same people who would vote Labour, albeit for different reasons.
It's why Labour didn't win the last election, yet conversely, it's why remain will win this.

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 21/06/2016 07:00

I think we will Leave but I think it will be close.

BirdInTheRoom · 21/06/2016 07:01

People I associate with on SM seem much more vocal about remaining. I think the leave voters are keeping very quiet, due to not wanting to be branded a racist bigot - this argument has very unhelpfully stifled any rational debate.

mrsvilliers · 21/06/2016 07:04

Interesting post thenlater I am neither disenfranchised or ill informed and nor am I am a gutter press reader. But your comments are exactly why I do not voice my Leave opinion to RL friends or on SM. And as it happens, all of my avidly pro Remain friends would also have been avidly pro Labour in the GE. So I will be interested to see the margins on Friday.

X post Bird...

SouthWestmom · 21/06/2016 07:06

Agree Mrsvilliers. It's Remain stuff all over my social media. I've voted out already and I am very highly educated and don't read 'gutter press' so don't want to offer myself up to be vilified as a stereotype.

PeaceOfWildThings · 21/06/2016 07:10

I think Leave will win it. No idea by how much... Might be a big win.

I have a reputation to consider, having correctly predicted last election and Scottish Indy ref. (Preens)

I think after a recount, the leavers are very narrowly going to win.

GetAHaircutCarl · 21/06/2016 07:16

I think we have seen and will see something similar to the Scottish vote.

Lots of noise followed by a fairly convincing vote to remain.

TiggyD · 21/06/2016 07:19

The polls are kind of level at the moment, but I think there are a significant amount of secret out voters. Probably embarrassed by the anti immigration crap from Farrige. I'm guessing out by 53/47.

Jelliedeels · 21/06/2016 07:29

I hoping with every fibre of my body that it will be a leave vote win !!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 21/06/2016 07:35

Helmet ooh that sent shivers down my spine. Excited and petrified and nervous. (Although I'd feel that if it were remain btw perhaps but without the excited but)

Lurcio if people are voting to avoid a recession they've got a shock coming. There's a bloody great one coming our way regardless of whether we have stayed or gone.

DeliveredByKiki · 21/06/2016 07:36

mephistopheles that is an absolutely abhorrent post
