Summer Ebay Challenge!!! Shall we try for another £300?

I need motivating to de-clutter and make my bank account look a bit healthier!!! I've got loads of bags and boxes packed with car-boot stuff that didn't sell the other week so might start with that and list those things at 99p just to make a bit of space.

Anyone with me? Shall we set the deadline for end of Summer term (about the 18th July here)?

9 items sold tonight. Most for their start price of 99p though!

Might offer the kids puzzles in the for free bit on here. Getting fed up with listing them! Guess they might sell nearer Christmas though.

mel1981 · 04/08/2009 22:56

IKWYM tortoise, ive got loads of boxed games/puzzles- put a few on ebay with no interest at all so not gonna bother with the rest as Postage is too high. Just dont know what to do with them now LOL Might just put away for next car boot sale freecycle them ? still undecided.... want rid of them but most are still excellant condition & would like a bit of money for them
Well done on your sales- I only mad £2.49 last night.

Tortoise · 05/08/2009 18:16

5 items left with 2 days to go on them.
Won't be listing anymore for a while as we go away in just over a week. Can't wait!

Hey am i too late to join????

Got some of DDs clothes to get rid of and then who knows I so much stuff atm.

How are proces atm is ebay getting a bit full with people trying to make money?

Tortoise · 07/08/2009 08:20

Lovebeingamummy You're welcome to join in. I expect there will be a ne thread started soon with our next target.
Probably raising money for the dreaded Chrismas shopping!

Most of my items have been selling for 99p but it depends if your clothes are good brands etc. I think Ebay is a bit slow in the summer.

LoveBeingAMummy · 07/08/2009 10:08

Got so much stuff 99p even for every other would be good

Tortoise · 07/08/2009 21:26

Kids monsoon jeans sold for £4.88 (89p from charity shop )

mel1981 · 09/08/2009 21:34

I love it when that happens tortoise- I was given a second hand pair of boys dungarees that I didnt like and they sold for £8!

Welcome lovebeingamummuy- good luck with the selling! And yeah I think its a bit slow on ebay ATM- either everyones trying to make a bit of money or no one can afford to spend any.

Hope your enjoying your hols snow, thats a good idea with the games & puzzles might just give that a try- thanks.

Listed loads last night trying 10 day listings now seeing if that helps. Got 4 watchers & no bids some ends in 2 days and the rest in 9...so plenty of time.

Tortoise · 09/08/2009 22:37

I'm starting to get photos and text together so I can list a bunch of stuff in Sept once people return from holiday - judging by work, no-one's around atm.

I'll be selling a couple baby outfits that people might want for Halloween (a pumpkin and a Super Baby) and some of my clothes that didn't fit anyone at the clothes swap party I went to last week (most are just going to charity shops). I did quite well as no-one else was my size!

MrNC's found some more computer bits, too.

Has anyone ever sold furniture on Ebay? My mother has a couple antique chairs and asked if I'd sell them, but I suspect she'd do better just taking a photo to her local antique shops - seems to work on those TV clearout programmes!

mel1981 · 17/08/2009 21:44

selling 14 items atm all but 4 have watchers so fingers crossed. and have 3 bids so far. all endind tommorrow.
BUT had someone email to say they hadnt received an item. He lives in germany but asked to post to wales as item was 99p (P&P was £2.40) though why not! Typically he hasnt got it & I cant find the receipt!! was sent 2nd class 10 days ago should I wait a bit longer to see if it turns up? havent there been postal strikes?

mel1981 · 20/08/2009 10:22

Sold 8 of my 14 items -all but one had bids or watchers near the end! maybe ebay is starting to pick up again.clothes, toys, toiletries and books I managed to sell. YAY. Theyve all paid already too, so gotta package them up & post today. gotta list moses & bedding too soon.

Hello.
Hopefully will be ready to start listing again soon now that we are back from hols.
Have some halloween outfits to list and loads of other stuff.

Nemoandthefishes · 24/08/2009 11:34

I have quite a few bits finishing today but this week also sold my phil and teds[which will pay for birthday and xmas presents] and DS wooden train set which he has promptly spent again on wrestling toys. his spiderman toys are doing ok around £2.50 a figure but will keep that money towards the pot

mygirllollipop · 24/08/2009 14:41

Only made about £7 last night, but it's got some junk stuff out of the house and have a little bit more in paypal to buy things we need - like a new remote for the girls' TV.

Tortoise · 28/08/2009 11:16

Having hassle from a buyer. Before i went away they were complaining that a pair of new without tags trousers had a stain. I agreed they could return them for full refund inc return postage.
Now they haven't arrived here and she is saying she has receipt but doesn't seem to have a tracking code so not sent recorded.
I don't know what else i can do, they are getting a bit arsey with me, saying i am claiming they haven't arrived.

Sent on the 11th so i guess still time for them to appear plus there have been postal strikes in the area. Think main depot is where she is from.

Tortoise · 29/08/2009 22:07

Managed to make a start on Ebay listings.
1st item i listed about an hour ago, already has a bid! Will link to items in a minute.
