Summer Ebay Challenge!!! Shall we try for another £300?

I need motivating to de-clutter and make my bank account look a bit healthier!!! I've got loads of bags and boxes packed with car-boot stuff that didn't sell the other week so might start with that and list those things at 99p just to make a bit of space.

Anyone with me? Shall we set the deadline for end of Summer term (about the 18th July here)?

Mel I hate it when that happens.

Wish i could find one of these rare 20p's with no date on. Could do with the money they are selling for!

notcitrus · 01/07/2009 19:08

Got about £30 from my last lot of sales. The heavy item went for £2, so packed it up in a large box as small one ripped and was really too small - no room for bubblewrap.
Struggled with it and pushchair on the bus to main PO, which is at least airconditioned.

I'd put £9.99 for p+p. PO say £18 first class, or £14 for Parcelforce 48. I gibber, and then say "Isn't there a Standard Parcels service?"
"Oh. Yes, but that would take longer."
"How much is it?"
It was still £11 as I'd just gone over the £9.50ish price band. Too much sellotape...

So lost money on that, but at least it and all the packaging are out of the house.

I listed 6 items on the free-list day, but no bids yet. Anyone want a lovely black fake-leather skirt, size 12-14?

Tortoise · 02/07/2009 11:27

notcitrus Shame you lost out on item due to postage.

DD2's digger is upto £12.50 with 18 watchers. 2 days left so time for more interest!

My stuff

SNOWBall4girlz · 02/07/2009 18:49

tortoise that is good hope you do well on the digger
the mixer only reached 49.99 so I think I will relist it

few watchers on the raincoat and a couple of watchers on other things but not many bids

notcitrus · 02/07/2009 19:43

thanks tort, think I made 20p on it overall - have a bid for £6 on a charger now.

Was thinking of putting some clothes up as have some lovely dresses I'll never wear again, but it's so much hassle to list for a 20% chance of them selling. Maybe I'll list the light ones, and the heavy velvet or the red silk suit will go to the charity shop. Do charity shops want winter stuff in the summer, I wonder?

Tortoise · 02/07/2009 20:34

Loads of mine ended tonight. 2 sold for 99p!
Think that was the 2nd/3rd time of listing some of them. Dunno what to do with them now.

mel1981 · 02/07/2009 21:22

Got some of mine ending tonight too couple of low bids so far.
Tortoise- I only list 3 times max then put on mumsnet, gumtree, a new website I found call bookoo (a bit like gumtree- for your local area& can do free listings), depending on what i have to sell- friday ads or my freecycle chat room has a for sale section. But then that limits you to only local people and you have to be will for people to collect.
Notcitrus- I think charity shops will just store stuff til the right season or at least thats what the one my mum worked in done.
my ebay stuff

mel1981 · 03/07/2009 11:57

Made £13 (not inc P&P) on my listings last night and just had a maternity skirt sell BIN for £6.
So I think with what i have in my paypal (and what ive spent from my payapl) I have made about £150 so far....and as usual still have LOADS to list.

SNOWBall4girlz · 04/07/2009 21:41

sold a few bits

relisting some

mixer did not reach its reserve but think I will relist it or put it in a music mag?

how are everyone else doing?

Tortoise · 04/07/2009 22:32

Digger sold for £34 (Think that is actually more than i paid for it new!

Little red bike sold for £2.70, wasn't expecting much for it TBH.

Dora bike unsold.

Will try and get some bits listed later. Not sure there are many buyers at the moment!

Tortoise · 06/07/2009 21:42

couple of bits listed
Nearly all bought from charity shop for £1 each. Now have to hope i make a profit!

Got £5 for the bike when it was picked up. They didn't want the change.

mel1981 · 06/07/2009 23:23

Well done on the sales.

I agree tortoise dont think there are as many buyers about atm. Alot of watchers tho.
heres my ebay list

Got a few watchers. the turtles dvds are doing unexpectedly well, although DS1 will prob be upset when he notices them gone- he never watches them tho!
But ive spent a little bit tonight too- both ds1&2 needed rain coats so got a couple on ebay.

Anyone finding that now buyers dont leave much feedback compared to say a year ago? I might stop leaving feedback 1st. Although I got a lovely +ive back tonight.

MaDuggar · 09/07/2009 21:12

Can I join in? Have got 27 listings on the go, hoping to make about £30! It will do a for a start, even though I am very late joining in!

MaDuggar · 09/07/2009 21:38

good luck to you too Tortoise!

Tortoise · 09/07/2009 21:52

I have done well with outdoor toys/bikes but not much else has been selling lately. I think it just depends on the item really.

mel1981 · 09/07/2009 23:07

Im watching a few of your items MaDuggar.
I made another £25 the other night still have a few items listed but they dont look like they are doing to well ATM.
Ive been selling a lot of maternity stuff which has been going quite well and supprisingly my dvds went well too. Certain baby clothes have been selling too- althoug was selling BNWT nike top had 5 watchers but only 2 small bids in the end.
Been buying too much too DH just picked up my 3 piece suite for £36- Bargain!

MaDuggar · 10/07/2009 08:37
