Last thread full so starting new one.
Still time to make a few quid before Christmas.
Could be good for those unwanted presents after Christmas! Grin

Well done, tortoise!

I'm going to make a start tonight.

I was hoping there'd be a free listing period for fixed price items but I could be waiting forever so I'd better either just deal with having to pay 40p or put them on auction.

New to this but feel this is the year I need to start. Soooo re Mini Boden should I hold onto winter stuff until next Xmas or should I just get on with it now? Also Playmobil, should I do the same?Does stuff actually sell this time of year?

Better to wait until late Feb for better prices, sorry to say. With obvious exceptions like snow-ski stuff which will shift well right now. I have loads of long-term stuff to relist, though, that rarely sells, so I will relist them as priority.

It depends whether you want to free up space or make money.

I sold things right through January and the rest of the year last year. I don't remember feeling that things were going for next to nothing but my main priority was to clear space.

DS is currently trying on all his clothes to see what fits and what doesn't so I'll be listing his discarded items this evening Grin!!

I've got a bid on about 4 things that have been relisted multiple times before Christmas and had no interest so so things are going ok Smile

I printed a list of all active auctions last week; basically, anything on that list that I haven't sold by X date (nominally a year from now): goes to the tip! Or charity shop. but having listed already, not that much trouble to relist 1-2x/month.

I have 18 items on at the moment, 10 new items and 8 re-lists. They finish on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday and I have seven with one watcher, one with two, so I am not holding out a lot of hope!

Last weekend I posted that I was excited because someone had bid on a DVD that I had re-listed many times. I think I jinxed it - my buyer is a new eBayer and hasn't paid yet, despite an invoice sent on the day after the auction finished. Sad Maybe she is away on holiday until this weekend? (She says, clutching at straws!) I think I'll leave it a few more days before opening a NPB case. Sigh!

So far I have 8 items with 1 bid. That's out of 100+ listings! So not really a great result so far Grin

It's a start though! Grin

Another Wii game just sold on fixed price. Still got one more listed and two more to relist.

I really need to get a move on and get some things listed...I can feel my enthusiasm disappearing befor it's properly kicked in Blush

I have just been to the Post Office with six parcels! Smile

I sold 4 of my "new" items and 2 of my re-lists, but none of the re-lists that have been hanging around for more than a month or so. Some of these will be going to the Charity Shop next week, I think!

I can't decide whether I want this weekend to be Free Listing or not......

My hope is that 10% of stuff I list will sell each time. It was more like 15% last time, so not so bad.

I Made £100 in sales last night. Really pleased with that. Just hope all pay up! Grin

Ooh, good for you, Tortoise.
I made about £40/week for last 4 months. Shock.
Knowing that makes me feel much better about the last 3 hours I spent getting 22 new listings ready (exhausted). Typical start price = ? £5. I am having a breather on MN before I apply for a FT job & then maybe even practice piano, before shopping & fetching kids.

How I think I'll fit a proper job into my life is a good question.

lljkk - I am happy if I sell at least 25% each time. It takes me so blooming long to list anything, that a lower success rate would just not be worth it - it would take me a lot longer than 3 hours to prepare new 22 listings!

£40 per week is really good! Last year I was trying to average £20 per week.

Tortoise - is that on your business account? How is that going?

Tortoise · 10/01/2013 12:52

No, that was on my personal account Smile . Business one I have been slacking on Lol. But I am getting some listings done on there today. Have bundled up some items of one size to put on as they haven't sold individually. Got loads of jeans that haven't sold despite a few re listings. Might so small bundles of them too just to clear out old stock ready to buy more in! Grin

Not impressed! Been left a Neutral feedback. There reason for neutral seems extremely wrong to me.
They put something like 'Very small for an 18 but all ok'.Angry I can help that different clothes/brands etc all vary in exact sizing. 18 was on the label and I presumed that was pretty accurate.

Have to take it in stride, don't put a reply down for now, compose something that doesn't sound bitter but still fairly defends your position.

I did 12 re-lists on Saturday - for 10 days - but completely failed to list anything new on Sunday as I had intended! Since it was free listing I have dropped the price of a couple of things and given them one last chance before they are sent to the Charity Shop.

Brilliant variety of listings, Tortoise, you're obviously well stuck into the decluttering & canny money-making, lol.
I am slightly annoyed I blitzed thru the listings last night but it was earlier in evening than I meant to list; in other words, auctions will finish between 6-7pm Friday which I think is a bit too early to get best price.

Oh well! Better than my last lot of listings when I set everything to finish at 9-10pm NY Eve. Can't get dopier than that.

Right, I have been rubbish so far this year (I know we're only a couple of weeks into it Grin) and have relisted some of my unsold fixed price listings.

In doing so, I've discovered that the Wii games only cost 20p for the 30day listing. Not sure why and not sure if it's a temporary thing but thought I'd share incase anyone has any games waiting to list.

Bizarrely, it didn't work on a different wii game but I think the other one was listed as an accessory rather than a game so that I could put the correct (higher) postage as the game comes with a controller.

DS found a couple of missing DS games the other day. We already had the boxes but the cartridges were AWOL. I now have the cartridges but not sure where the boxes went Blush!!!!
