That's great news Tortoise, good luck with the new venture! let us all know how kilt goes... You have really inspired me :) but I'm too scared to make the jump into self employed.

KateSpade · 15/06/2012 14:09

I am a keen Ebayer and would like to Join this thread, as have been having a good old clear out of the house + putting on ebay. + Have been attacking my Grandmas house which she moans she wants to clear out. Perfect.

In the last 60 days i have made £322.35 and not recieved £60.00, so all good! :)

Snapespeare · 15/06/2012 14:36

I'm aiming at twenty new items and relisting 80. sold five things on teh last free listing, including a jacket that I was absolutely positive buyer would be unhappy with - no reason, just that they had been very specific in their emails asking ofr measurements, asking it be posted on a specific date. I'm currently around the £150 mark in my paypal, but I'm pretty sure I've bought a load of tat and have actually got past the £300 mark (!)

OhNoMyFanjo · 15/06/2012 19:12

No not stuff, it's called stock Wink

Well I'm up for free listing but to. E honest I'm starting to feel a bit meh about it. Am getting ready to stick some stuff in an NXT sale for tge first time next week as well.

AdventuresWithVoles · 16/06/2012 09:59

Just spent an hour wrapping 4 items!
What is with the talk radio torture? All Ulysseus or football. AAAArrrrgggh!!
Still, satisfying. One of them was a long-term unsold item. Off to PO later. And about 12 new items to add to my "stock" this weekend.

Tortoise · 16/06/2012 15:52

I am going to get soooo confused!
Now have 2nd Ebay account set up which i am assuming will have selling restrictions but i don't know for sure. Will list a few items on there this weekend, worried about having zero feedback though!
Plus will list on other account too but not business items yet. Need more stock! Grin Haven't changed it to a business account yet.

AdventuresWithVoles · 16/06/2012 16:30

Everyone has to start out with zero feedback :).
I suppose you could list the lower value stuff with the new account, it's when items are high value that folk might baulk at no f/back (I imagine).

Tortoise · 16/06/2012 19:13

Yes I know but going from over 1500 to 0 is a shock lol.
Will only be listing clothes so it should be ok.

OP posts:
Tortoise · 16/06/2012 22:01

Reached my 10 item listing limit on new account! Grin
Re-listed unsold items on other account. Will try and list more tomorrow.

PoohBearsHole · 17/06/2012 22:17

I always feel drained at the end of a free listing weekend. I know I should be more organised but I am just not!!!!!

Have listed some Lelli Kelly's so hoping they sell well although dh has the camera so will have to wait until tomorrow to load the piccies. Very annoying Grin

mogs0 · 21/06/2012 22:34

HOw's everyone getting on?

My listed items have no bids so far Sad.

I had an offer for my ABC buggy seat but it was considerably lower than the start price so I declined. I have used it a couple of times recently and really liked it so would rather keep it than see it go for a bargain price Grin.

I hope this weekend brings the bidders out in force!

HipHopOpotomus · 22/06/2012 09:49

First sale this year - Baby Bjorn Bouncer sold for £67!!!! That's £17 above my expectation so top price. Very happy.

Buggy and a few other auctions are ending on Sunday. I've had a Buy It Now offer on the buggy so I will take that if they pay what I've asked for (which is same price I brought it on ebay for 16 months ago - cheeky). I will be so sad to see this buggy go as I love it, but DP hates it as it takes up too much space in boot (rubbish IMO - really we all know that after 16 months he STILL hasn't mastered putting it up & down Grin). Back to the trusty MacLaren it is.

HipHopOpotomus · 25/06/2012 09:38

OK all my listings have now ended and I've got £187 - very pleased!

Got £77 for buggy which is £2 more than I paid for it 16 months ago. Its still in great condition. Bike still to be listed. So I've sold most of my bigger items - but still plenty of bits and bobs to list.

We are having a repair done to our kitchen this week so once that chaos is over I will list some more stuff. I'm going for GOLD. Thanks to this thread for the PUSH. All my listing have been via my mobile only as our computer is getting repaired - really happy to discover mobile selling.

How are you all getting on?

I found Sunday evening was a good time for listings to end (seemed to be lots of last minute live bidding). Do you find this?

PurpleFrog · 25/06/2012 12:23

I had 3 items finishing last night which were not sold - maybe because they clashed with the football. Hmm

I have 8 items finishing on Wednesday which will no doubt clash with the next lot of football! Two pairs of shorts have bids, and two other items have 4 or 5 watchers each.

We go on holiday in a couple of weeks, so don't think I'll put anything else on eBay before we go. However, I have some large items on the upstairs landing waiting to be photographed to go on Gumtree. Hopefully I'll get that done this week.

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 27/06/2012 09:58

Ebay is rubbish just lately, isn't it? For kids clothes anyway. I had 30 listed, 5 have sold- earlier in the year, 60 listed and 50 sold.

SNOWBall4girlz · 27/06/2012 22:53

Well I am back selling after a break ( my dad died quite suddenly after becoming ill :( ) .
Most of the items that sold were despatched on time but a couple were delayed and the buyers were lovely.

Finally despatched an outstanding big parcel today but had a small parcel to send with it which I thought would catch and did not want to strap to the flat pack box.

Delayed as I was not able to stay in and wait for a courier on the days that were be convenient for the delivery at the other end iyswim.

The bloke in the Post Office was lovely and sent the parcels seperately but together under the same price ie both together weighed just under 7 kg did not know you could do that Parcel force 48? got two tracking numbers too ..just hope the buyer is ok with this messaged her as was supposed to be sending it with collect + but it was too long. So paid the extra just to get it posted so I can now get on with my new and relisted items.

I cannot list if I have outstanding items or issues I like to be up to date with everything :).

dizzyday07 · 28/06/2012 10:16

I have gained Silver!!! My total has been boosted by selling DD's outgrown bike and a table & chairs set for me Mum.

PurpleFrog · 28/06/2012 11:11

SNOWBall4girlz - sorry to hear about your Dad. Sad

I sold 5 out of 8 items finishing last night, well actually 5 out of 7 because I cancelled a listing earlier in the day. I got a question from a buyer and realised I had the wrong photo on the listing. Doh! If I had noticed with more than 12 hours to go I would have been able to change it, or add another photo if there was already a bid, but I was terrified that someone would bid before I got home from work and I wouldn't be able to change anything. (Correct photo was on my switched off home Mac.) Looks like I should start carrying eBay stuff around again on a USB stick, like I did before I had home broadband, or remember to put all files somewhere I can access at all times!

Well, I re-listed the offending item last night for 5 days hoping the previous watchers would pick it up again, and it already has a bid!

mogs0 · 28/06/2012 11:11

Snowball - so sorry to hear about your dad Sad.

Re parcelforce. I use a company that sell PF slots and I print the labels and just drop the parcel off at the PF depot (which is less than a mile away) when I'm ready. I think you have 7 days from ordering the service to handing the parcel over. It works really well for me because I used to get really annoyed waiting in all day for the courier not to turn up.

I have given up listing now until september and will have a really good go at clearing all the backlog between then and Christmas.

My paypal balance is currently £350 but I've spent some over the last few weeks.

I had an email last night offering to do a deal on my ABC buggy seat. They'd already offered a low offer while the auction was active which I declined. They then sent an email after the auction ended asking me to lower the price and they'd collect it tonight. They think they can buy a new one for less than my starting price so I replied with details of one of the few stockists and without shipping they charge considerably more than my start price. They then replied adamant that the currency conversion they'd done was at least £100 cheaper than I'd work it out as. I checked twice and can't see how they've got the amount they have.

Anyway, I stopped replying because I said quite clearly, twice, what my price was/is and I'd rather keep it another few months and keep listing it on free listing weekends.

LineRunner · 28/06/2012 12:59

My DD and I just listed our first item ever on ebay!

Thanks to you all (I have been lurking) for the motivation. She starts College in September and needs the money.
