I don't know how anyone has time to read f/back in that much detail, anyway. I glance at % positive & then carefully read the negatives. Is this bid retraction comment even easy to find?

CrackedNipplesSuchFun · 10/06/2012 19:28

I have had a look and you can only see the retraction and reason under the bidding history on the item, so no it's not easily visable, thankfully.

The joys of eBay.

Thank you both for your responses. Hope your eBay seller is going well :)

bobkate · 10/06/2012 22:09

Well, I sold about £30 of stuff tonight, 8 items went. The platerack was finally collected so that was £75, so minus fees I'm around the £190 mark...so pretty chuffed with that. Oboe still not sold, probably on for too much but I don't want to sell it for peanuts. I had a BIN of about £50-£100 less than they're worth, but hey ho...will get relisted on the next free listing weekend. Plus we've got my DH's bike on, what I find is strange is that it's a classified ad, but there's 19 people watching? Any ideas why that would be?
Hope everyone else has been successful Smile
Just realised that makes me almost silver Grin - wonder if I can make gold by the olympics?!

Tortoise · 10/06/2012 23:17

I've bought a clothes joblot to sell on. I've registered on hmrc for tax.
Need to change my ebay account to a business account (do I use my old account with good high feedback or start a new one or maybe start a new one just for my own items?)
Also need to speak to job centre about coming off jsa and getting wtc!

All very scary lol. But hopefully I'm doing everything right. It's all a bit confusing!

Any advice gratefully received Smile.

Ok I'm late but I am in!!

I'm SKINT - all money gone already and I don't get paid for another 3 weeks. The flat is cluttered with bits I don't need & I need to get listing & selling, listing & selling!!! I have some baby stuff to sell inc Baby Bjorn bouncer, travel system and car seat so I'm hoping to be able to raise a few ££££.

If I sell my bike on GumTree will that count too??? Who wants to buy a bike in this weather???

Tortoise · 11/06/2012 15:42

Hiphop Sales anywhere count Smile. Maybe save the bike for a little bit if you want to get more for it.

OP posts:
HipHopOpotomus · 11/06/2012 15:54

Yes might hold the bike for a bit. Ment to sell it LAST summer, before or around the time DD2 was born. She is now 14 months Blush.

However I can put on Gumtree for the price I want and someone might take it - folding bike in London. Just need to take photos (again) and the last lot disappeared when our mac crashed. Would like a little sun for the pics!

Here we go .....

AdventuresWithVoles · 11/06/2012 17:48

Folding bike in London is worthwhile putting on Ebay; watch for similar items & figure out what you would typically get on Ebay minus fees. You could wait until free-listing on Ebay & list it for the price you wanted on Gumtree + extra for fees.

Tortoise · 11/06/2012 18:54

Id go with listing on ebay. I would think more people will look on there and you can start price as high as you like on next free listing days.

I have spent the weekend in hospital, home now but still feeling pretty awful, I'm so behind in my posting (14 separate items) that I'm feeling worried, no one has contacted me yet tho, hoping to get someone to post for me tomorrow. I was going to contact everyone and explain, but thought it just sounded like a rubbish excuse...what do you all think, should I? Tomorrow will be a wee from them winning, but not all paid straight away, and a couple only over the weekend.

Good luck with the business Tortoise, is it mixed clothes you will be selling?

I would love a folding bike, I think it would sell on ebay.

Hope everyone's selling is going well Smile

Tortoise · 12/06/2012 16:20

Weirdscience I'd contact buyers and explain. Even if they think its an excuse, at least you've let them know.Smile Hope you feel better soon.
Probably mixed items. Just going to see what I can buy in cheap. Hopefully some new bundles from wholesale. It's all a bit new to me.

All my items end tonight. Very few bids or watchers.

HipHopOpotomus · 12/06/2012 16:23

OK thanks for the advice re bike. I'll get photos taken (again) so I am ready to go when free listing occurs next. Any idea when that will be?

It is the most lovely folding bike - but I don't cycle anymore and it can't take a kiddie seat.

AdventuresWithVoles · 13/06/2012 13:00

by some kind of miracle I have passed the £100 threshold (wow!). Getting the bronze polish out now.

milk · 13/06/2012 16:24

I'm pleased to announce I have made: £305.92 :) and I have more to sell Grin

PoohBearsHole · 13/06/2012 17:17

I think there is a at the moment a free listing weekend per month, so perhaps the beginning of July?

I listed something wrong so have contacted the buyer about it and will wait to see if they want to progress or a refund which will take a whopper out of my total but I feel its better to be honest, instead of used (worn once) I clicked the bnwot. So cross with myself as I was in a real hurry to get everything on in time on free listing weekend. Argh Angry

Tortoise · 13/06/2012 19:07

Poohbear used once is not far of bnwot so hopefully buyer will be understanding.

I've got loads to relist but I don't know if I should relist them on my normal account as it will soon be a business account hopefully! Or if I just use that Account for both lots of listings.

milk · 14/06/2012 08:11

£335.92 Grin If I make it above £400, what do I get? A diamond medal? :)

Tortoise · 14/06/2012 10:19

I think £500 would be diamond medal lol! Grin
I've lost track of how much I'm upto. Sold a few bits the other night.

OP posts:
milk · 14/06/2012 13:08

Tortoise: sounds like a good challenge :)

For myself this is a double win- as not only do I get money from selling my unwanted items, but I am also a hoarder so for me it was really hard getting rid of the stuff and letting go. My mum is a hoarder and she has never been able to get over the disease, but I feel like I have a real chance Grin

Tortoise · 14/06/2012 22:36
Grin I officially came off of benefits today and am now self employed!

Sorted out my 'ebay cupboard' today. Didnt realise I had so much stuff of my own still to list!

milk · 15/06/2012 11:59

milk · 15/06/2012 12:11

Tortoise - Congratulations :)

HipHopOpotomus · 15/06/2012 12:36

Congrats Tortoise!!

milk so the listing has to be made via a mobile app?

PurpleFrog · 15/06/2012 12:42

No - listing can be done as normal. I haven't had an e-mail this time but the info is on eBay here.

I really need to get myself into gear this weekend. I have only managed to list 1 or 2 new items over each of the recent free listing periods. I should aim for 10-12 this time.

Tortoise · 15/06/2012 13:59

Thanks.
Not sure what to do this weekend. Have masses I could list but if I start a new account I assume I will have restrictions on how many items I can list.

Maybe do all on 5 day listing then change to a business account after that! All so confusing lol.
