waaaah got just under half an hour left on my oboe and plate rack - got 14 watchers on the oboe and 12 on the plate rack. Reserve not met on the oboe...am making myself feel a bit sick hoping for a last minute bidding surge on both!!! However they could all be watching to see what happens, as opposed to watching and waiting to bid! The waiting is agonising Grin!

notcitrus · 30/05/2012 20:10

Selling here curtailed by offspring and me breaking my camera... have found a few things to list though.

And loads of things to buy - this year has been ridiculous for stuff going wrong!

bobkate · 30/05/2012 20:26

Ah well my knotted tummy was for nowt! Plate rack ended up with only the same bid that had been there for a few days, so no last minute bidding...never mind, got £75 so happy enough.
With regards to the oboe, I can apparently send the highest bidder a second chance offer. Have people done this before? These oboes are worth about £400-500 in the shops, but I think mine needs a service which could be about £100 so do you think if I send a second chance offer of £300 that seems fair - or should I just relist and see what happens again? I just want to sell it, but don't want to sell for peanuts iykwim!

bobkate · 30/05/2012 20:27

notcitrus that's a pain about your camera. Mine gave up the ghost last week so got a new one with my tesco vouchers Grin

bobkate · 30/05/2012 20:35

hmm - just looked on the answer centre and a second chance offer can be offered to the highest bidder, at the highest bid they made, despite it being under the reserve price...so I won't be doing that. Guess I'll relist. Maybe with a buy it now option as well. Hey ho - won't be buying the summer holiday tent just yet!

weirdscience · 30/05/2012 21:02

Bobkate bad luck with the oboe, I would go for relisting with the buy it now (or maybe best offer) option too, good luck.

I have had problems with non-paying bidders recently too, Rachel, I have had 7 in the last few weeks I've taken out a case against and closed it without them paying, I've never had it before, then had 7 all within a few weeks, weird!

I think everyone should cut off their toes or whatever they have to do to fit into my flowery boots and buy them! Grin Thanks for the bid on the shoes Snow Smile

I have sold 3 things tonight, re-listed a couple of things and added a couple more things. Once this lot go I am out of stuff to sell, feel a bit disappointed! Grin

bobkate · 30/05/2012 21:39

Thanks weird I'm going to do that and also contact the highest bidder to let him know that I'll be relisting it in case he's interested. I too love the floral boots Smile shame my girls aren't a bit older! Bummer about the non payers...v annoying.

AdventuresWithVoles · 31/05/2012 11:17

Carrots: I would ask for a further £2 reduction/refund on postage. Politely and succinctly.

carrotsandcelery · 31/05/2012 13:51

The seller emailed last night saying she could no longer find the items so could we cancel the auction. She may have lost them or she may have been annoyed that they sold for such a low price and could have been trying to recoup on the postage. Either way the transactions are cancelled which suits me fine.

I have learned a lesson though: agree a combined postage cost before bidding! Grin

OhNoMyFanjo · 01/06/2012 06:38

Guess what it's a free mobile listing weekend, sat-tue

CrackedNipplesSuchFun · 01/06/2012 08:05

I know, it's amazing! I'm new to selling on eBay and I am highly addicted already... Nothing is safe, everything has a £ sign on it. Must stop before we have nothing left!! :o

Added some more stuff last night. feel free to have a look

:)

PurpleFrog · 01/06/2012 08:46

I got the mobile e-mail about this weekend as well... and I can't list with my ancient mobile..... but I read the Tems and Conditions on eBay and it does cover Quick Sell or Advanced Sell (Sell Your Item) forms as usual. Phew! T&C here.

See! I was right! I have been saying all along there would be a 4-day Free Listing for the Jubilee! Wink

bobkate · 01/06/2012 08:49

oh I don't know whether the fact it's half term is putting me off a little....do you reckon people will be taking any notice of what's on ebay if they're off doing stuff with the kids? Although I guess if it's free listing, I suppose it might as well all go on... sorry - it's too early and I'm rambling. Just wondered what everyone else's thoughts on it being half term are I suppose.
Also my plate rack man still hasn't got in touch. I wish people didn't dilly dally when it comes to getting in touch. Surely people realise when they've put a bid of £75 on something, and want to know if they've won? Even an email to say I'll be in touch over next day or so, something at least.
Your stuff looks great Cracked - good luck!

AdventuresWithVoles · 01/06/2012 09:14

So.. I can do free listing from my PC, then? I think that's what it's saying. Will try, anyway! :)

OhNoMyFanjo · 01/06/2012 09:28

Love it when I put things on at night and wake up to a load of watchers in tge morning Grin

I sold one of my bin from tge free fixed listing but think I will end tge rest tomorrow and relist as free auctions.

OhNoMyFanjo · 01/06/2012 09:33

Question - I don't list to sell abroad but obviously occasionally get asked I have so far resisted. Today I have a question if I will send to Russia, My instinct is to ignore what do you ladies think?

weirdscience · 01/06/2012 11:42

I always send abroad, I have posted to loads of different countries just standard international post (not recorded or tracked) and I have never had a problem in years of doing it, I would say go for it. Might be a bit more wary, or go for tracked if it was a high value item.

OhNoMyFanjo · 01/06/2012 11:46

weirdscience thanks its not a high value item (some of dd's shoes) so I might go ahead Smile

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 01/06/2012 18:11

I've had missing parcels twice in Italy, both times have been a few items too. When a parcel goes missing internationally on just a standard post, not recorded/insured, you can only claim the item price, not the postage aswell. Works out to be a bugger when you've paid £7-8 postage for a few items, so I wouldn't bother offering combined postage anymore.

CrackedNipplesSuchFun · 01/06/2012 21:47

Thank you bobkate

Hope everyone is doing well.

As for international, I'm so new to eBay that I'm excluding but I do mention in my listings that I can quote etc, but no one has asked yet. Good point made by breakout tough.

bobkate · 01/06/2012 23:35

Reading another thread about being impatient about non payers and non contacters has made me think...I'm impatient! I re-read my post above and think I sound like a right old whinger Grin I think it's because when I win an auction for something, I'm normally so excited that I've actually won it, and not been outbid, that I pay there and then. I've never bid for something and not been watching at the end. I guess though, that lots of people put their maximum bid in, and then forget about it. I suppose I just presumed that as it's a collection only item, they would have got in touch by now. Hey ho. Only on day 2...note to self....learn to be a little more patient.
Sorry....rambling again...

LoveBeingOnEbay · 02/06/2012 05:34

Here's mine www.ebay.co.uk/sch/nik_n_tez/m.html?item=290718362632&redirect=mobile&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2562 hoping to get loads on this weekend.

nsjuly · 02/06/2012 16:08

Going mental here. eBay keeps logging me out mid listing. Have only managed to list one thing so far and I've loads to do. What is wrong with it??

CrackedNipplesSuchFun · 03/06/2012 07:53

Officially past the £300 mark now after fees :0

Still have loads of stuff to list but truly losing the will to live! 16 items listed last night mainly handbags and jellewry
